Yeah, it would be nice if they added that kind of 1970s functionality to the 360 profiles.

They don't remove any games from your account, just change the number back to 0. The achievements are still there, and unlocked (so you can't earn them again to recover your score).

Wow who's fault is it really?
If the developers made a game with a glitch and people took advantage of it they shouldn't be punished for that unless they are ruining someone elses gaming experience.

Cheaters should be lucky that MS doesn't terminate their Live accounts. Cheaters ruin online gaming.

haha. This is funny. Just like the people who cheated to get seriously in gears1. No one is a legit 100 last time I checked so this would be oh say 1 out of 10 people I play with each game minimum. That's funny. Why, because they always suck and they just wanted that cute little star with wings logo next to their name.

Just address the serious cheaters in this game, like those who bridge host and lag switch, then we'll actually be making progress.

I don't blame the developers, they opened up most of this entire achievement list to any game type on or offline. I do blame them for lack of consistency, but that's always been gears.

@Mazrael the lancer a water pistol??? its still got that Godsaw on it. The HB has been the superior weapon since the beginning. It took till TU3 for people to wake up to it. The bad players spawn Lancer, its not even allowed in MLG play (not that that even matters, but it was removed for just being unfair and awful)

Damn that sucks. I'd have some sympathy, but then I remember I don't cheat.

Bahahahahahaa.

After reading this, I'm looking forward to reading all the complaints of innocent people that get labeled as cheaters.

Epic can't code for shit, and their game is flawed to the core, so god only knows how this is going to go.

Here's an example
I'm a level 36 on gears 2, my son is a level 10 or something like that.. while playing split screen with him this weekend, a bunch of multiplayer achievements started popping up on his screen, and basically he got all the ones I got for level 15, 25 etc..

We didn't glitch anything ( although he was pretty stoked to get some achievements for free , While I was a little pissed I had to work for them and he got them free!) we were just playing and because EPIC can't code.. he got them without playing the game enough to achieve them, now because all this is being done by code, will probably end up labeling him as a cheater, when all we did was play split screen multiplayer.

You're safe... they are targeting people who specifically exploited the game though a hack. Playing normally will not lead you to be reset.

I love the fact the people are finger waggling at Epic for being hacks at their own jobs yet everyone is using their engine for every single ******* game.

Secondly it serves these people right for finding hacks and exploiting them if people like that actually did something meaningful with their lives imagine what society could accomplish instead of tripling Gamerscores or playing DVD's on the Wii.

I think they should just reset their gears 2 gamer score. getting rid of all their gamer score is to harsh cause what about those people who try and get recon for halo 3 and such

So exploiting a glitch like setting the boomshields backwards to get to stage 50 in horde mode is not the kind of glitches they are talking about, right?

Heck yeah I think it is a great idea I am tired of these lame kids who have nothing better to do than cheat the system. its bad enough we have criminals cheating and the goverment cheating the system everyday. Now we all come home to our virtual inviroments to find lazy non active people cheating the system. Doing nothing different than what they do in most all other forms of their life be lazy and figure out a way to achieve something easy. its pretty bad when we all play games and know that its an non active hobby and then thease people figure out ways to take the lazy way out and cheat. I guess its to hard on our thumbs god forbid we would lose a calorie thease days sitting still.

Hey WTF? According to the last information about people hack their gamertags in order to get unauthorized achievements, you should know that we don't glitch if the f*ck and shit game is well developed by the makers and also if they correct the troubles about conexion. You know all the time the lag is the problem and it's almost imposible to play as well. for sure the people wouldn't glitch. maybe only reset gears of war, but the other games pay 4 the EPIC mistakes??

Cheaters are already being punished by their peers (myself and others)
And soon as you see the people with the 100 rank, you know they cheated and people proceed to rip on them for the entire match.
If you pay close attention, nobody with the star ranking, ever speaks, they are outcasts.

With that said, i think the punishment should be xbox live suspension. MS can make a few bucks on it, because you know damn well if you are into these games so much that you need to cheat, you will glady start up a new account so you can play immeditately.
