"Any title released on the console is wasted as it is unlikely that the game will sell in any decent level of numbers."

The first Red Steel sold more than 1M units. I think it's decent enough to get a sequel...

When that 30k makes you more profit than 100k would on the HD systems, why should you bother with the other way?

30 k copies of a wii game would probably make more money than 500k copies of a game like killzone 2.

I suppose somewhere in that run-on sentence of yours you were able to check off the last thing on you list of things to do today.

I mean I've heard of trolling but stick to the subject shithead.

tmac, let me explain this to you in a way that just might be possible for you to understand. Wii games sell slowly at first but the sales last for awhile, while games for other systems sell a lot at first and not too much over the long haul, generally speaking, of course. Now, I don't know if you've ever been intimate with a lady before, but do you think they prefer a big bang almost immediately or do they want that bang to last a little longer?

Recent figures for equally hyped games (Madworld) would disagree with your statement. Sure it made money, but not nearly as much as it would have made on the 360 for example. Imagine the amont of people who would have bought that for the 360. Producing "hardcore" games for the wii is really a waste of time. You can try to convince yourself otherwise, but you'd still be wrong. Even one of the guys behind the forthcoming conduit has said that the wii is a desert for hardcore third party titles

i have an idea. why dont you condense all ur anti wii bullshit into one comment so i can just down vote you once instead of 4 times.

the dev costs for the 360 are a lot higher. it has a ton more competition on the 360. its a clover game so its doing well for their games. 3 good reason so go troll on some other site or maybe a mad world article where we have already given u these reasons

Yes, it would have made SO much more money if it went up against more heavily advertised games like RE5, SFIV, and Killzone 2.

Also, I'm surprised you were able to pass the 1st grade without knowing what a desert is.

So you are so naive that you think games of the beat em up genre sell well on PS3 or 360?then how comes Gods hand sold half than madworld on the ps2?Pfft,theres no difference. At least madworld is selling better than Red alert 3 on the 360.

good. The controls sucked and WM+ will dramatically help. Also with other FPS games working well that shouldn't be a worry either. The game was also very stereotypical so changing the setting is fine with me.

I dunno why he's such a hater. After playing games for nearly 24 years, the only console i've loved more than the Wii is the N64. I've owned probably 12 different consoles in those 24 years and the Wii ranks number 2 as the best console i've ever owned. Now that the storage woes are fixed, i cant see any faults with the machine, besides being hopeless at fighting games.

Too bad it's made on the family friendly wii, it'll end up being a bit of a Mild West.

Yeah, like that House of the Dead: Overkill; that really got watered down to only having a record number of F-Bombs. MadWorld and No More Heroes are also really worse off for the way they only chop people into quarters and shove street signs through their heads. Why, on the PS360, the developers would've had full creative freedom to chop people into quarters and shove street signs through their heads.

Or Oneechanbara, which the ESRB describes as "The female characters fight in thongs, leather skin suits, tiny bikinis, and other skimpy outfits that reveal cleavage and posterior areas. Bouncing breasts and use of camera pans along body parts are depicted frequently. ". Or Manhunt 2, which is practically an AO game if not for slightly modified camerawork. Or Resident Evil 4, which features people who have been hung up against sheds by way of pitchforks through their heads, or horribly mutilated on hospital beds.

Really, could you be any more of a tool?

Personally, I'm not buying it for one simple reason: the "2" in the title.

Now, I'm not going to rate the quality of one game based on it's predecessor, especially given circumstances, but A- I hate buying sequels without buying previous games in the series. This is why I am going to subject myself to DMC2 before playing 3. About the only exceptions to this are MGS (which was nearly a reboot) and RE4 (again, nearly a reboot, plot wasn't too dependent on previous entries either). Also B- they really should've had the sense to NOT try to keep Red Steel alive. Call it "Crimson Steel" if you like (actually, that'd be a much cooler name, and fit the Wild West theme to boot), but they should know that "Red Steel" is practically a homophone to "launch shit" in many gamer's ears.

Hmm... On the one hand I love both samurai movies and westerns... and there sure aren't enough western games out there.

On the other hand, i rather liked the japan setting of the original... it made a nice change from all the WW2/Middle east FPS games out there. Kinda reminded me of NOLF2.

Would it be too much to ask that they release an updated version of RS1 too? If they made the FPS controls like metroid, and added motionplus to the sword fights, it'd be an awesome game.

Sorry Ubisoft, I will never buy this game. You over-hyped and to a small degree lied about the quality of the first Red Steel to earn some undeserved sales.

I have not purchased an Ubisoft game since - and will continue to boycott it's products.

Am I the only one who doesn't think this will be true wild west?

Take a look at the image on the other news report, the buildings look out of place.

Maybe this will be steampunk?

Even though I haven't played the first Red Steel, this sequel seems like a buy, if not a rent.
