holy crap. What is this Xmas? There are so many titles releasing in June, for all systems, its going to be insane. Didn't these developers look at a calendar before nailing a release date?
Gun Barrier @ Apr 28th 2009 4:00PM
Looks like we are gonna have a Christmas in July.
baby sea tuna @ Apr 28th 2009 2:41PM
Sonuva...Capcom, STOP REMAKING THIS GAME! I've already bought it for Playstation, Gamecube, and DS. #2 is the one that's in serious need of a remake, anyway. Or Code Veronica. But not this one.
I'll still buy it, of course, if the Wii controls are as good as RE4.
bm @ Apr 28th 2009 2:44PM
Id agree with you if this wasn't a Wii port of the most awesome remake in existence. It's only appeared on the cube so far before this. Idunno if you've played it, but it's practically a new game from the original in almost every way.
bm @ Apr 28th 2009 2:46PM
That said, I don't get why people were crying out for Capcom to bring this over from Japan. I mean what the hell guys, it's on the Cube which means it's already on the Wii! There aren't even any new additions. It's 100% the same.
baby sea tuna @ Apr 28th 2009 2:49PM
Except for the Wii controls, which were pretty excellent on the RE4 Wii-make.
Levi @ Apr 28th 2009 3:20PM
the wii controls on this port are nothing like RE4. RE4 was wii perfection, this is cashing in. The "wii controls" are just likethe GC version, only with the controller split in two, and you move the remote up and down to aim up and down - but there are still only up, down, and straight for aiming. YouTube it. It's not worth it.
The original remake on the GC is the same exact game, and it plays on the wii. It's also the best RE title IMO (yes, I like it better than 4 or 5).
David Hinkle @ Apr 28th 2009 3:36PM
Levi,
I'm actually one of those oddballs, too, so don't feel bad. The GC REmake will always be my favorite Resident Evil game.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an appointment with Nurse Ratched.
Manly Mcbeefigan (Mr. ESC) @ Apr 28th 2009 3:42PM
Well Capcom herd we liek resident evil ports so they ported a port so you can be nostalgic while you are nostalgic.
Moptimus Slime (Ziggy played Guitar Hero, but not Smash Hits) @ Apr 28th 2009 4:54PM
Capcom also herd we liek Pokemans, so we went to their base and they showed us them and we were like "OH EXPLOITABLE" and they said "This was originally a PS3 game, but a Wii is fine too" so then we were all like "I C WUT U DID THERE!" so then we asked for a release date.....FOR GREAT JUSTICE! but Capcom said there was someone in their base killing their d00ds so they'd have to get back with us on that. But at the last moment they pulled an epic maneuver (AKA Barrel Roll) and said we would party hard over the summer.
Also, Milhouse wasn't invited, for obvious reasons
rockiinqwitbryan @ Jun 27th 2009 1:38AM
i agree 100% that they shud remake RE 2 n also RE 3.

Zombies in Mansions,
They are bursting through wind...
Awww what the hell, nobody cares about my Haiku Crap.
game's cool tho, definitely worth a re-buy.
Levi @ Apr 28th 2009 3:24PM
NO!! FINISH THE HAIKU!! OR I'LL ASSIST YOU IN SEPPUKU, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!
But like I've been saying, don't buy it right away... At least check reviews to see if there's really any difference between this and the GC version. It really looks the the changes they've made to the controls are so small and ridiculous that this port will not be nearly as good as the RE4 port compared to the RE4 on GC.
uncle jesse @ Apr 28th 2009 3:32PM
That is not true Dave
You are too hard on yourself
I still like your style
Manly Mcbeefigan (Mr. ESC) @ Apr 28th 2009 3:44PM
I did.
Don't give up Haiku man
[This is the part where you gain all your strenght, stand up and punch Dark Wayne in the face!...For some reason, you need someone to fight and I stop being funny back in 08]

What's the chances of Capcom making DLC happen on the Wii?
Heyyou27 @ Apr 28th 2009 2:42PM
I'd pay $60 for a PS3/360 version of Resident Evil Remake in 1080p.
In A World (XBL) @ Apr 28th 2009 7:17PM
I hope this is not Chris' incredibly realistic blood.
Adam Washington @ Apr 29th 2009 4:11AM
Here here - although a 1080p 360/PS3 remake of RE2 with new controls would be the sweet spot for me.
Garu @ Apr 28th 2009 2:48PM
I'll buy this... but I might wait to see if there is a sale. My copy of RE4 for the Wii was $10! It was a awesome deal!!
baby sea tuna @ Apr 28th 2009 2:50PM
Don't give up!
baby sea tuna @ Apr 28th 2009 2:50PM
mother pus-bucket! EDIT BUTTON PLEASE!
DangerMouse @ Apr 28th 2009 2:50PM
I hope this means the GC version will start popping up at places for cheap. It's one game i always wanted but never got.
Levi @ Apr 28th 2009 3:29PM
It's soooo good. Creepiest one by far. Best graphics, best storyline. The old style engine doesn't work as well as the 4/5 engine for action and shooting, but regardless, the RE1 remake is my favorite RE by a long shot.
Keep in mind that I have always liked RE1 the best tho, so maybe my opinion could be balanced out by someone who liked 4/5 the best :)
MLS @ Apr 28th 2009 3:07PM
Great game, but getting this in America and not Fatal Frame 4 makes me sad.
Manly Mcbeefigan (Mr. ESC) @ Apr 28th 2009 3:39PM
Ditto.
Letters2Kay @ Apr 28th 2009 3:10PM
Dammit. These are some of my favorite games of all time, but I already own them. I was all ready to ignore the Wii versions, but then I heard about the widescreen support, support for GC controllers (wavebird, FTW), and progressive scan and I was sold. Another $60 to Capcom...
Hopefully they'll invest the profits in a new game on a better system.
wait in the car @ Apr 28th 2009 4:21PM
The Gamecube version already supports widescreen, wavebird, and progressive scan.
Letters2Kay @ Apr 28th 2009 4:52PM
Hmmm... are you sure? Widescreen especially? I just checked the manuals and they don't say a thing about it, nor is the "Progressive Scan" icon pictured on the back (as it is on other games like PSO and SSX3). They do mention having state of the art "Stereo" sound and brightness options. That's about it.
I'm well aware of the Wavebird support on the GC, but GC control options (including Wavebird, of course) are always a bonus when it comes to the Wii...
Manly Mcbeefigan (Mr. ESC) @ Apr 28th 2009 3:41PM
I'm playing this as I post this.
I got the Heltmet Key and the Mo disc, now f*cking what? I'm stuck in a save room and outside the door there are 2 frogs that can't let me move.

Holy multiple degrees of separation, Batman!
vidGuy @ Apr 28th 2009 4:12PM
I'll pay $20 for it. It's in my top three games of all time, why not have another version?
t_m @ Apr 29th 2009 1:13AM
please send me your $20 instead. I'll buy something i don't already have and put it to good use...
R @ Apr 28th 2009 4:21PM
June 23rd is the biggest release day for wii since it's launch.
The Conduit,Little Kings Story,Overlord Dark Legends and now WiiREmake. O_O
wutdaheckman @ Apr 28th 2009 5:00PM
I'm looking forward to this actually. was about to get it for GC but might as well get it for wii - give it a few months and it's price will drop too.
Erik Tomlinson @ Apr 28th 2009 5:46PM
Hey, this might be worth buying since I've never played the original or the remake.
Anyone know if it stands up to the test of time or is it dated because everything that was innovative has already been improved upon in other games? The graphics look decent enough considering it's for the Wii.
theydidntnameme @ May 2nd 2009 12:21PM
its definitely worth it.
listen to this music from the game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8no8YlwLRKc&feature=related
this game hasnt lost any of its terror over time.
also since youve never played the original or remake, hopefully you havent had the scary parts spoiled for you.
i would show you some videos of scary parts in the game but i dont want to spoil anything. if you want to view some though just look up resident evil remake on youtube. some good keywords to add are 'lisa trevor' and 'kenneth'

I would love to buy a RE mega pack. All the cannon games on a one blu-ray,or on a couple of DVD ,throw some of the Japanese ads on there . And I am sold. That would be great of Capcom.
SledgeHammer @ Apr 29th 2009 11:55AM
You forget the exclusive killer feature:
it fits on one disc instead of two.
