Well... the graphis are pretty... but I think that this game and Dead Space are enough on-rail shoter for this year.
I'm more impresed by Spyborgs tho...

I think that's the direction that developers needs to take when it comes to Wii games... very appealing, and doesn't look dated.

It has a very Ratchet & Clank vibe... if I recall correctly, the studio (Bionic Games) are former Insomniac devs, right?

I have to agree with you Fernando. The Wii can do better than on-rails/light gun games can't it? Hopefully with motion plus, we will see a greater variety of gameplay and uses for the wii-mote.

Capcom is claiming "best Wii graphix evar!" for this game, apparently. Though they'll have a hard time competing with Capcom's Monster Hunter 3
wait, what?

looks like it's most resident evil 2 but holy crap, nemesis AND tyrant?

That looked like Mr. X (modified Tyrant) and rounding both corners, in different forms. Unless the bigger one was Birkin.

IIRC he was a programmable version of Tyrant, and in RE2 he was brought in to retrieve the G Virus. Nemesis was supposed to be a modified Mr. X type programmed specifically for hunting S.T.A.R.S. members.

Looks good. I just wish companies would start releasing games on ps3 or 360 as light gun games (Time Crisis withstanding) It could do very well as a motion controlled lightgun type of interaction. It looks on rails so you'd really only need the gun itself.

That looks really fun. Still, this is only making me want Capcom to create some of those moments in NEW GAMES, not just remind us of past scares. I LOVED RE5 but it didn't have that kind of intensity or scare to it, which is a huge bummer. Sorry I'm kind of a downer. I'll check out the reviews before I buy but this is looking good.

I don't know I want less rail shooters and more like RE 4.
I'm usually a big proponent of taking risks when it comes to developing video games, but in this situation I think Capcom basically wants RE 4 with a new story.
Maybe that's just me, though.
And I really, really liked the Wii controls for RE 4 moreso than on any other platform.

Seeing RE2 with new graphics makes me sad this is just an on-rails lightgun shooter. I would love to play this in 3rd person. All the characters and environments are right there, they could have easily done it... damn.

Might want to reconsider if you're playing on HDTV. I find that 3D PS1 games look horrible on them, even with PS3 upscaling.

I agree with you. I'm a huge fan of RE, I even bought my Wii in 2007 because of RE Umbrella Chronicles, but in the end I was very dissapointed, the whole on-rails kinda thing for RE it's unacceptable. Capcom finally heard us, we all wanted a remake of RE2, but they chose poorly the gameplay style or we can blame the platform(Wii). Why not remake RE2 like they did with RE1 it's beyond me, they will ruin a classic game.

*sigh*
How I wish this was a remake of RE2 done in the style of RE4 as opposed to a remake of RE2 done in the style of The Umbrella Chronicles.
Why does Capcom refuse to make a proper RE game for the Wii? The Wii version of RE4 IS the definitive version. I don't get it.

I'd assume they haven't recorded most of the voice-over yet as the game probably isn't finalised - the subtitles are placeholder for when they put the voice and sounds in.
Unfortunately from the voice they do have (and the lousy on-screen script), it does seem that they're aiming right down to the normal Resident Evil standards. :) Ah well.
Looks great, like the last one - and apparently now you actually see your partner, which is a nice improvement. Enough to make me forget they still haven't announced a real RE game for Wii? Nope. But I definitely expect to be buying this one (at least assuming it's a similar play length to the first).

Too many changes.. Claire's costume (im on the fance as to whether it looks better or not..) The fact that both Claire and Leon enter the station at the same time... And they meet the officer in the lobby and not the second room on the left=P
I play RE2 too much..

Come on, guys. If you're making a light gun game, it's not that much of a stretch to an FPS that people will love so much more. Look at Half-Life if you want a bit of inspiration for how to keep everything through the player's eyes. For goodness sakes, you could even keep your linear paths and give people control over their movement forward and backward (think Killer7) and it would be much nicer since you could at least go at your own pace.
Now, I'm not gonna rag on there being 'too many' light gun titles on Wii. HOTD2&3, Overkill, Ghost Squad, RE:UC, DC, Wild West Guns, Dead Space: Extraction, Crossbow Training, and a few more I'm sure. But really, I wouldn't be complaining if there were that many racing games, or that many sports titles, or that many JPRGs, or FPS, or anything else. They're all just genres; light guns isn't one I love, but it's not like it's a lesser game because of it. I do wish developers would be a bit more inventive, give us our katamari, give us our Rez, give us our Ico. But plenty of consoles have strengths and weaknesses in various genres; and the light gun genre is one that has been sorely neglected.

extraction's going to be a light gun game?! -_-
Not that that's a bad thing, but I was hoping for something meatier on the wii.
