I was really looking forward to this too...it seems like it would sell well. If it is cancelled I'll just buy the PC version.

I wanted to play a definitive version on consoles rather than the buggy, translation-mistake ridden PC version, so I really hope this is still alive.

The Enhanced Edition already solved all the problems you just listed. Now it runs great, has a great story, and is an all-around blast to play.

I love that I get voted down for saying that the original was buggy... in any case I didn't know the enhanced version fixed those issues, so I'll definitely be getting it soon - better than waiting to see if the console version got cancelled.

Plus my PC kicks ass, so this game may give me a bit of fun testing my settings :)

I too hope this is alive. I beat it before the Enhanced Edition and was waiting on a console version to replay it.

This game was phenomenal and it would be a shame if it got canceled.

Wow, I really hope this game stays in production. I have been waiting for a console version of this game since the very first day I put the buggy disc into my PC. I absolutely hated the PC version. I know some have had problems with the game and others haven't but I sure as hell had many problems to deal with. So PLEASE let this still be in production! It's such a great game from what I've experienced!

As it has been said before, all those bugs are fixed by downloading the Enhanced Edition patch after registering the game (completely and utterly free).

Yes, I have also purchased the Enhanced Edition as soon as it came out and I still have framerate issues which make the game very unplayable. Thanks though for your input. =)

I have to admit, though all serious problems are addressed with the Enhanced Edition, I did also notice that the game ran pretty slow. Games like Fallout 3 I can run on High Settings, but with the Witcher I had to hit up some lower graphical touches. The only one that really bothered me was I had to turn down the view distance lower than I would have liked. But don't let that stop anyone from buying the game, I still recommend it wholeheartedly. It is well worth it and a hell of a lot of fun.

Those were pretty much the problems I was having with the game except it still didn't run as good as I would have liked. =(

Totally agree though, the game is outstanding. Just wish my PC could play it properly..

What graphics card do you have? I played The Witcher at launch with a 7900GT at highest settings but with depth of field turned off (because it caused terrible cutscene performance) and it played perfectly fine--30 to 60 FPS--aside from long load times.

I'm just as surprised as you are. I have a Dell XPS laptop with a Nvidia Geforce Go 7950 GTX I got a couple of years ago (and with Vista =.( haha). It's a decent rig. I played many other high quality games in high settings but this seemed to even choke on medium settings and sometimes hiccup on low. Weird.

It's a shame if it's true. Both I and my PC got bogged down in the middle of it, but I was hoping to give it another shot on a console.

As being for now a PC only gamer and thus a rabid fanboy, I was disappointed at The Witcher coming to consoles, especially with extras over the PC version like DLC, new combat system, etc. I don't mind it coming to consoles as long as it could be ported back to the PC, which is highly unlikely.

You know, being a PC only gamer doesn't necessarily make one a rabid fanboy...any exposure for this game is good, as it really is one of the most underrated RPGs of this generation. Porting it to the two big platforms, the 360 and PS3 would be fantastic for the company and encourage more games from this developer.

I know it sounds completely immature and silly, but I was a bit miffed at The Witcher coming to consoles and no longer being a PC exclusive, and worse the consoles probably getting the better version. I don't mind too much if PC games come to consoles, as long as the PC can get back the extras the later console ports attain and vice versa. I'm sure for instance some 360 owners are upset the PS3 is getting a better version of Ninja Gaiden 2 and their hoping for the extras to come back to their platform.

That's kind of selfish, Cosmo, don't you think? I'm completely okay with anything that would get more money (developing power) in the hands of CD Projekt. They're great guys who really love what they do and I'd really like to see some more stuff coming out of their HQ in Poland.

I know, it is stupid. Its easier said than done depending on the console you own. If you only own the PC and the consoles get a better version of a game that was once exclusive to your platform, wouldn't you be a tad miffed? If the extras from the console port get ported back to the PC, then I'm perfectly fine with that. Its no surprise if consoles get more attention than PCs due to their much larger market and popularity and its no surprise the console version will get extras over the PC version due to it coming out much later than the original PC version.

Um, no? PCs get the upper hand over consoles all the time, so I wouldn't be upset if the reverse were true every once in a while. For example, look at the differences between the PC version of Team Fortress 2 and the Xbox 360 version, or, better (worse?) yet, the PS3 version. The game is completely different on all three platforms, with the PC version being the best version by a long shot.

Everybody, just play the PC, enhanced edition. All the games problems are fixed, and you don't need a high end pc to run it. An excellent title. It deserved to be played by a wider audience, but that doesn't mean you guys can't play it.

I think even if many here had a PC that could handle the game, they would much rather play it on a couch with a controller despite the fact that you can do the same with a PC, though they probably don't want to move their PC from their study or other room into the living-room which is understandable.

I'm a fan of digital distribution, but The Witcher Enhanced Edition is one title I'd like to have in physical form due to all the nice things that come with it, despite the fact that many of the extras you can get in digital form like the soundtrack CDs, map, etc.

Just like I'd like to purchase the Collectors Edition of Fallout 3 for the bobblehead, I know, I am vain. : D

I always have trouble buying things through Steam, I have to get everything from Direct2Drive or straight from the developer's website; once paid for and downloaded, Steam has no problem actually installing the game, it just WILL NOT take my payment information! Very annoying.

Anyways, I hope The Witcher comes out for 360 eventually, preferably several months before Elder Scrolls V.

the enhanced edition is a great package. One of the best collector's editions of any game I have bought.

As long as it's the Euro import, which contains all the nudity the US version takes out.

I’d like to join the chorus here lamenting this rumor. This was near the top of my list of the fall glut. Well, it still is, but who knows now. Of course, I still have to finish Fable 2 and Far Cry 2. And then Dragon Age: Origins is coming out at the same time along with Brutal Legend and Alpha Protocol.

Dammit, besides the original Fallouts and Elder Scrolls, another reason to get my pc fit to game again. I downgraded to my original hardware after some product quality issues. On the bright side, buy.com has a 22" LCD for 150$. I'm on it. Extended warranty plz.

Arg, I had money reserved for this title explicitly, as my wife and I like good, deep games. Still, I suspected as much when the indie developer said "porting to xbox360 and ps3". It's the same sign for the developer of Sacred 2: non-trivial work ahead.
