Folks can't get enough of those Mythic maps, as Halo 3 frags its way to the top of the Xbox Live charts for another week. The siren's song of plasma grenades and billion-dollar cyborgs bested the Nazi zombie-killing antics of Halo nemesis, Call of Duty: World at War.
On the Xbox Live Arcade side, the first and second placeholders from last week have switched, with Hasbro Family Game Night taking the top spot on the charts, and OutRun Online Arcade moving down to the second spot. For the full rundown, hit up Major Nelson's stats.

Wow. I haven't played Halo 3 since the end of 2008... just got on again last weekend after playing COD4 for months. I think both games are fantastic. Halo 3 felt slower as far as running... but there's nothing like constant run and gun action! I love perks in COD4... but I don't have to worry about my footsteps being loud anymore or having to be stealthy. Vehicles are fun in Halo too. Can't wait till ALL the maps are available for regular rotation on the play lists. I like objective games with friends. The graphics are looking a little dated ... but the controls are only rivaled by the COD franchise. I'm an addict yet again. I don't care what all the haters say... this game NEVER gets old. I am looking forward to Halo ODST and MW2 at the end of the year.

oh my goodness, there are others out there that play BOTH halo 3 and COD4? Surely this is a sign of the end of times! *GASP*
In all seriousness though, I'm right there with you bro! I can't get enough of those two games and can't wait for ODST and MW2!

Right on! COD isn't for EVERYONE.... either is Halo 3. But Some of us are lucky enough to enjoy the best of both worlds. I find both to be highly addictive... especially when they keep coming out with new content. I like using steath at times... but other times I just like my guns out pumping noobs full of lead or needles! lol

halo won't go into my box again until it can play faster off my hard drive than the disc. i.e. IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN!!

why..?
Just because Bungie were clever about making their game load quicker for what they had available at the time..?

wow, i make an honest statement and it gets voted down. serious, i've gone through 7 boxes, i'm really trying to be uber cautious with the most recent one i've been dawned. i really do enjoy halo when i play it, but it's not on the top of my list due to the fact it plays off the disc. and yes i don't blame them, but it's just odd that every single other game out there can be put onto the hard drive and runs faster (note: MAYBE there is a FEW games that are in the halo boat so don't go picking apart my words) except the most popular game on the system. tisk tisk tisk.

That's because Halo 3 is a lot better then Call of Duty: World at War and everybody is beginning to realize that.

erivera3, you are so right, and the Sega Genesis has better graphics than the XBOX 360,. My vote goes to Call of Duty, it seems to me like the lag on Halo is pretty bad, I used to like it but I have given up after playing Call of Duty 4 and WaW. It really just depends on what your gaming style is though, I am just more into the tactical approach of Call of Duty. And CoD has way better graphics, don't even argue against that.

i personally think that halo is successful on the sole reason that you can have split-screen online multi-player, a feature lacking in EVERY OTHER FPS.
multiplayer is meant to be social, hanging out with your friends. but it seems next gen games force you to play alone if you want to play online.
that and its epic storyline, am-i-rite?
