EA just passed along some new screens and details for Madden NFL 10, and it looks like Tiburon is really working hard to make this year's edition stand out. One of the biggest improvements to the game is the Pro-Tak feature, which provides more dynamic tackling on the defense, better evasion maneuvers for the Quarterback, and allows players to fight for fumbles at the bottom of the pile. Defenders can even gang up on an offensive player, allowing up to 9-man gang tackles.
There will also be a new way for you to decrease the length of a game through the Madden NFL Your Way feature. This is a customizable version of the game that will support a new, revamped play calling system, along with faster clocks, and streamlined presentation.
Madden NFL 10 will tackle retail on August 14, 2009.

at any rate I'm going to need to see some BIGGER improvements in order to get me to buy this. otherwise I'll just do like I did last year and Gamefly it for 4 months and send it back...
U really haven't been reading the blog posts they've been posting about the changes since early Feb on EA's site, eh? I know talk is talk but even in the clip above, I see some of what they have spoken about, in those blogs, being fleshed out a bit. But check these couple vids and some of the new features they are talking about on espn. Mind u, many of these weren't even talked about in the blogs so when I first seen it yesterday, it was new to me, too. And just like he said at the end of the espn post, it's not even close to everything they are doing with the game, based on the other things they have talked about in the blogs. 9 man gang tackles? For something that doesn't happen often in the NFL, they sure are dedicating a lot of time to it.
For the most part, sports games really should come out every other year. Then there's a chance at a legit reason to keep buying. Unfortunately, Madden is a juggernaught and with no competition, it's not likely to change.
It's not like an 8 on 1 tackle situation, mayne. Sometimes, in the NFL, if u actually WATCH a game, u will see pile ups of players trying to either tackle a player and/or the tacklee's (my word) team mates trying to push the pile forward. Small improvements, looks good... but the player models are crazy-thin... these aren't college players... why can't NFL guys look beefy and realistic... these guys look like a bunch of pad-wearing Ken dolls...

I think I've read that every year for each game of Madden. I always go out and purchase the game, it ends being hype for 2 weeks, and than it becomes the same for every year.
...and yet I still go out and buy each Madden. Madden NFL 10 is going to rock!!!
How do some of you get into the trend of buying the same(maybe renting) game every year with tiny improvements!.This looks the same as last years editing maybe a little lest polished.Why can these developers make sport games every two years instead of forcing one every couple of months.
How do people go out and buy ridiculously expensive tickets to watch the same football teams every year when only a few small rules may change, or their roster barely changes?
How can I be a Cubs fan when I just know they aren't going to win the World Series ever?
How can some people still watch Family Guy when it's the same jokes every week?
If you don't want to buy the game, don't buy it. How hard is that to understand? People can do what they want with their money. Simple concept.
I find this ridiculous too, people may pay thousands of dollars for a seat when you can watch it better in you own home without hassle.I been meaning to ask a cubs fan why would you be a fan of a team that you know every year will only disappoint and will probably win a champion ship when your grand children attend college.Family guy is terrible moving on,I have been buying madden since 2005 after they destroyed my 2k games and I am tired of seeing basically the same thing every year without gigantic improvements(goes for most sports games).
I'll say this like I have to say in every other Madden post on this website, please go check out the blogs EA have been doing for Madden 10. They have been giving out information about Madden 10 and NCAA 10 since January. Almost a full six months before the game comes out. They have plenty of posts about all the changes in the game, and they have a lot of game changers that will make it look nothing like Madden 09. No other sports game gives out this much information this early, except for Madden. Dude, u took the words right of my mouth. People hate just to hate, or, in many circumstance, they just follow what others say without real thought of their own. I have a bunch of links that they can get to if they wanna get educated on the new Madden and the HUGE amount of work they are putting in for this iteration but I will say, that trailer is a very weak one and even I was disappointed by it but then found other footage of the game and was like Black Rob - WHOA!

If it's anything like when I played football, there will be biting by rapidly tapping the X button, leg and arm twisting by rotating the right control stick, and eye gouging by pressing in on both sticks.
Anybody notice the "jab" they took at the officials from the super bowl last year? Right after Holme's corner of the endzone catch, the video ends with Warner airing one out for Fitzgerald in the endzone (as if to say Warner didn't fumble at the end of the game), but don't show the end of the play, as the logo swoops over it! Real classy there, EA!!

Just get rid of the new play calling system already. Having to scroll through each play 1 by 1 rather than highlighting a row and pushing the corresponding button is stupid. Why did they change that? It's stupid little things like that that make me wish someone with half a brain was working on this game. Like why is New Franchise the default option when 99% of the time when you go into Franchise, you want to load it?
And do they still have challenges? Because that's just silly. Why do I want the game to intentionally get a call wrong just so I can occasionally challenge it? WTF?

You don't have to do that. You can hold a button, one of the triggers I think, and you'll have the typically four-button choices for the play. Moving the stick left or right changes the whole row. It's not the default but at least you can still do it.
Poisoned Al - R u a little girl? The bitchassness over people who type "u" or "ur" as opposed to "you" or "your" is just a tad bit anal? Are u an anus, Al? C'mon, this is the internet and I would think u would have enough of a brain to understand a little shorthand because if u sound them out either out loud or in your mind, u would understand what those particular two words are. It's not that difficult and no one is writing a thesis, dude. Those two particular words DON'T make a statement incoherent or difficult to understand...unless, of course, it's u who is reading it. Go learn something...
