I am of the opposite camp. I loved GR before, and thought the series went south when GRAW came.

That's just IMO.

I find Ghost Recon, GRAW included, to be hit and miss. Some I really liked, others were repetitive and boring.

I loved GRAW but I disagree, I would like to see a more contemporary game (i.e. asymmetrical COIN conflict) instead of fighting a communist coup in Mexico or Russia. I also think putting experimental military equipment in the game doesn't work as it is always subject to change and is bias towards the defense contractor making the equipment in question. Kind of like the poor product placement like Rainbo Six Vegas 2 had by using Cisco.

I liked GRAW1, but GRAW2 felt like an expansion, not a sequel. Hopefully this is more like the original titles - I loved Ghost Recon for PC back in the day.

i hope its GRAW in a jungle setting again, or in a desert. id ratrher it be wooded areas. i love the cross-cam in GRAW 2. i love the helocopter extractions, the gun missions in the helocopter, hope they add a lot more story development, and a WAY WAY WAY better online experence! make it a little more like R6V2! but not so much, kinda like halo 3's online. theres ranks, and armor upgrades, but not like R6V2, no one can steall that from rainbow!! thats my dream game! anyone agree!?

I don't agree but I don't disagree. I Loved the 2 GRAWs. GRAW was the first must have title for the 360. But I feel Modern Warfare did a lot more right in other areas.

I personally hoped that Peter Jacksons Halo project was going to be like GRAW with Marines.

Yeah, that's what makes this all so weird. Based on the wording of the press release, I'm inclined to think it's not GRAW, but an extension of the FPS Ghost Recon games.

I hope you are right. Love the presentation of the GRAW series, but miss the original Ghost Recon style of gameplay.

Yeah, GRAW was Ghost Recon 3 at E3 2005. Halfway through that summer, the name changed to Advanced Warfighter.

"April 2010" for Ubisoft will likely end up more like "November 2010." I don't think a 'Clancy' title has shipped on time. Ever.

Just played some co-op GRAW2 last night to get some buddys some 'cheevos... That game is fun. Tighten up the controls a bit (close combat is a little loose and goofy on GRAW), add the Rainbow 6-style cover system, and I will be very happy.

for the 9-14 bucks it's worth it. If you can get 2-4 friends to pick it up at the same time it has some fun multiplayer/coop games. They can get old but they are really fun.

The story in 1 was amazing. Multiplayer (especially "coop") was kinda...eh.

The story in 2 was pretty awful. Multiplayer (especially coop) was kinda...amazing.

I love the leveling system. I love the A.C.E.S. system (especially that they've upped it to level 100) and unlocking weapons, armor and camo as you progress. It's damn near the perfect online system.

I hope 3 (or whatever the new setting may be) continues with the amazing cover system and general gameplay mechanics already established in RSV and RSV2 but add a better matchmaking service. Getting booted to the main menu after every ranked match is not only annoying and unnecessary, but it's downright stupid.

I end up playing matches with the same group of people (or most of them anyway) regardless of being kicked to the menu. So why not stop the frustration and annoyance of having to go through the whole process again and again and just let groups stay together. It seems to work just fine for Halo 3, CoD4 and pretty much every other non-Ubi game that offers ranked matches.

And while I like the hosting options as they are, it'd be nice to have a "quick match" function that just throws people together for a quick match and lets them go from there.

Some new modes like Pistols Only would be awesome. Some friends and I used to play matches on our own like that and they were an absolute blast. Forcing no weapons other than sidearms via in-game rules rather than good faith amongst friends would be awesome.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next Vegas game.

And sorry for the tangent. I know this is the GR thread. I never played one before GRAW but I'm excited for more Ghost Recon...AW or not. :)

To sum up R6V2

I was upset you didn't love me and were embarrassed by me. So I started a huge terrorist attack on Vegas. Also my daddy never hugged me growing up. Now shoot me while I take a minute to get my gun out.

I really hope those rumors that this series(Tom Clancy) could become a MMO are some what true. I'd love for the End War, Splinter Cell, GRAW, HawX com together somehow. I'd love to be a UH-60 pilot in that game.

Hoping it's 3rd person GRAW style. I feel Rainbow six had claimed the First person view and GRAW really did a great job with open world 3rd person view.

I suspect it'll be in line with the original GR and it's expansions if they're calling it Ghost Recon 4. Which probably means GRAW will become it's own franchise... a spin-off of a spin-off :)

If they stray from the play styles of Rainbow Six Vegas and GRAW I might not be playing either series again. I didn't really like the last gen games.
