Ubisoft: full-year sales up 14% in 2008

The company explained the strong results of its last quarter with "a continued very strong showing" for its Wii lineup, including Raving Rabbids TV Party, Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip, and My Fitness Coach. One million units each of Shaun White (not just limited to the Wii version), Tom Clancy's HAWX and the Petz and Imagine games were shipped to retailers in Q4.
Ubisoft's sales target for the 2009 fiscal year is €1.1 billion. It expects the first quarter sales of 2009 to be weaker than 2008's, due to the relative lack of major releases (Q1 2008 included Haze and Assassin's Creed on PC), with growth to occur in the second half of the year.

On one hand, I'm glad they're doing well because I loved Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia
On the other hand, Oh god the shovelware D:

The only Ubisoft game I've brought this generation has been Wartech and No More Heroes, and in those two cases they published rather than developed.
Nothing they do interests me anymore.

Yeah, good lord, I had no idea how much shovelware they were responsible for.
I just picked up Far Cry 2 last week (35 bucks! Yeah!) and I have not been able to put it down. I know it’s gotten mixed reviews, but so far the combo of open-world gameplay, African setting, and shooter has been awesome. I may change my tune if my save files get corrupted though, which I’ve heard rumblings about...
