I understand what you're trying to say, but look, nobody is trying to claim that HD is more 'innovative' (though I'd dare to say that through added power and resolution a game can immerse a player in ways never seen before... meaning they are innovative), but you're acting as though we can't have an opinion on the game. I think it looks boring. Big deal. Does that mean I suck? No. I've played countless FPS games over the year and as a result I notice things, like the quality of the physics and the animations, as well as the way aiming is handled and shit like that, even before I play them through videos. I'm not claiming to have near the amount of insight I would have if I played the game, but honestly, I'm not impressed by what I'm seeing so far. The controls are great, but the controls are but a small part of the gameplay experience, and while they can be so much more than that as games like MadWorld and No More Heroes have proven, I'm not seeing anything particularly 'innovative' here. Game just looks blan

My comments were directed at those who were comparing this to 360 and PS3 shooters. 99% of the comments were nothing more then "graphics fail = bad game".

Almost all new games are marketed based off stellar graphics and the environments they immerse the player in. While I can see this is a valid argument, at the end of the day how much time do you really spend staring at the walls in a shooter?

If this was an RPG, RTS, or one of many other genre's I'd be more inclined to agree with you. But it's not, graphics, physics, shaders, map LOD, none of these things matter when your playing a FPS. It's all about the feel, how does the game play? How intuitive are the controls? You have to admit in those departments this game looks very intriguing.

If graphics were a key element of a shooter, why do 90% of FPS players on PC's stunt their graphics on purpose? Sure we max resolutions for greater view distances, but we disable foilage, particle effects, just about anything we can to remove distractions and concentrate on what were actually doing in game.

Why? Because we don't care what the graphics look like. We want to play the game, and we want to rock it like nothing you've ever seen. Look at the Quake or Unreal series, they even provide options to color your player so you can see them easier. Does it look good? Not at all, does it make the game more fun? Sure does.

It seems this generation of players put far too much emphasis on graphics and forget about gameplay. When Quake 1 came out I was shocked that a shooter could actually be true 3D. Is that why I spent hours upon hours playing it? No, the game mechanics kept me playing. I still LAN the game every Christmas with friends and have more fun then playing almost any new game that's been released.

You don't see me posting it threads about how much I think a game sucks, using vidoes and screenshots as the basis of my opinion. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't understand the logic behind this.

I dunno, I look at some of the Wii stuff that's been up-rezzed in Dolphin, and it holds up fairly well. I tend to feel that a lot of UE3 games look sort of washed out and generic; I wish PS360 devs would take the time to make their own engine. And for all of the flipping out about how SF4 looks, I really prefer Brawl.

So basically, I don't think people would complain as much about the Wii's graphic capabilities if it were in HD. Unfortunately, it's not. Thankfully, I (and the other 65% of the country) am still living in an SD world. And you're crazy and lose credibility if you don't at least think Conduit looks good for a Wii game.

The bottom line is, all graphics will end up outdated. Good gameplay is forever. Which is why Mega Man 2, Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, and Donkey Kong Country still get more play for me than anything that comes out today.

Have any of you guys played Call of Duty World at war on Wii? If you setup the controls right it is soo much faster and very accurate. I am talking head shots.... Now World at war control is definitely not perfect. But they were the first game on Wii to allow almost no dead zone...

The Conduit should be really great.... Cant wait.

I must say, I love this game because of the Graphics, but not because they look like the best thay had come in a while or because they look way much closer to 360 ones, NO, only because they show effort

Since the beginning of this gen war, Wii has had the underhand on the games, but because most games that come out either don't show that developers didn't much effort on the game or don't care what they do, they just do it. So, with this post, i'll thanks some people

Thanks Hal Laboratory for Brawl. Its a supperb game. It could had been better (why and elbow and not the Kick!!!! You ruined Captain Falcon!!!!!) but its pretty good
Thanks HeadStrong Games for Overkill. I still have a blast playing through the game to get all the weapons
Thanks Inti Creates for Megaman9. Old school style Megaman will always be my favorite
Thanks Platinum Games for MadWorld. Just MAAAAAAAAAAAAD.
Thanks Capcom for Monster Hunter 3, DarkSide Chronicles and Spyborgs. Looking pretty awesome and can't wait for them
Thanks Red fly for the Ghostbusters. Brings back my childhood days and my love for this cartoon. Wouldn't liked in any other way
Thanks SquareEnix for Crystal Bearer. Its looking like a fun and pretty awesome game. i can get a Kingdome Hearts feel on it, and if KH3 doesn't comes on Wii, its alright, CB will fill that void
Thanks High Voltage for The Conduit, Animales de la muerte, Hot Rod Racing and Evasive Space. Those are pretty neat looking games with excellent gameplay and fun to play. I can't thanks for Gyrostar, cuz really, after the 3rd stage it felt old. But still, fun game.

Its developers showing they are putting their hearts into the game what attracts me more to get a game, that why i'm getting this game on day 1. Lets hope more people take this road in the future

I actually saw an interview on EP Daily that airs on G4 ... daily lol.

It does look interesting because the game has a chaotic feel to it with lots of "flashy" things happening but just the background of the story, and presentation seem very lackluster.

This game could be "very fun" to play on the Wii, but only time will tell.

Ever since this site moved to this new site its just filled with anti-wii fanboys which is exactly what I DONT WANT. I liked the old site because it was for wii people who wanted to be there. now we get all these dumb asses posting about the other consoles and the wii hate. If i want to read this crap, i'll go read gamefaqs.

Come on joystiq, this is really getting out of hand now and core people are going to stop showing up.

As for the game, it looks amazing and I can't wait to play it. F*** all ya'll.

So, basically what you're saying right now is that you don't like the new site layout because every single opinion doesn't fall in line with yours.Cool story.

I am truly exited with this game, so far from what I have heard and seen the game may be a good game to play. No Halo Killer, but a contender nevertheless. And graphically, I would care less for the shiny, brownish style of other FPS shooters out there have, as long as it is fun to play, then I will be happy.

Also, why with the bashing from what I guess mainly 360 owners? I really hope it isn't hidden jealousy, or fanboyism at its "best."

I hope you like being bashed to death by the 360 owners out there...

Another careless Wii owner has lost his life, what a shame.

So, once again, I'm an idiot for daring to rationally say that I don't like the game and give reasons as to why?

I was simply having a discussion; it's idiots like YOU, who act as though the rest of us aren't allowed to have opinions because they don't match up to yours, that bring this site down.

Sorry for calling you an idiot; I understand where you're coming from. You have to understand, though, that not everyone is going to love the hell out of this game, and that they're by no means 'idiots' simply because they disagree with you. That's the kind of thinking that destroys communities.

The point of the flame was to attack the Wii bashers, you know.. the ones believing the Wii is nothing and that their console is superior?

There was plenty of sarcasm and gags in that post, try noticing it next time?

I've been hearing the word "terrible" alot when referring to how the game looks. It doesnt look anything like whats on 360 but I don't think it looks too terrible. People are treating the game like it murdered 100 puppies or something.

I think as long as a game looks good enough to be immersive than everyone's full of it until they've played the game.

more than anything Im more worried about the enemy AI, that'll ruin a game. These enemies look at you like they just popped 17 boners.

The only thing that'll make this game even better is if Ford says,"its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum" right before the final battle.

The Conduit has phenomenal graphics considering the limitations on the wii's hardware, but the game doesn't need to have graphics that are comparable to the 360 to be amazing... NOBODY plays halo today for the graphics... or the campaign (except for co-op)... they play it for the multiplayer, the gameplay. There are games that do alot better in terms of graphics (GOW, Killzone 2) than halo, and yet halo stills wins favor over those games because of the fun factor, amazing multiplayer gameplay. When The Conduit comes out, I know I'm going to forget about the short story and single-player graphics after spending countless hours in multiplayer honing my IR skills and beating the sh** out of people with them...

IR control for shooters is not a new thing, it was born in arcades and only recently moved to the wii, but they haven't been mastered. Dual-stick will be a thing of the past compared to IR control.

Just wait for Sony to release their motion controls and see Killzone 3 or Resistance 3 take from The Conduit's well-rounded pointing controls, then you'll be grateful for this game.
