New Brutal Legend shots, now with more Lemmy!

click to Lemmy-size
Double Fine has released a new batch of Brütal Legend screenshots. There's plenty of metal goodness to be had, including dragons, cars and giant-fisted baddies. We won't lie though, the most exciting screen, as you can see above, is that of the Kill Master, played by MotörHead's Lemmy. We're not entirely sure what he's doing with that bass guitar -- what are those strings attached to, anyway? -- but we're fairly certain it's something awesome.

The Dark Wayne @ Apr 30th 2009 2:18PM
I need some shots of Rob Halford's character. And while you're at it, just bring the game too
BUGz @ Apr 30th 2009 2:40PM
I'm sorry but Brutal Legend = Epic Fail! when i first heard the name i was stoked but then i saw footage it was like a F-you to the Gamers i thought it was a joke but sadly it wasnt.
charlie b. @ Apr 30th 2009 2:43PM
you're sorry, all right.
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Apr 30th 2009 2:46PM
Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but... so am I: fuck you! I'm still hyped. Can't wait for this one.
carmaction @ Apr 30th 2009 2:47PM
How is this game an "F-you to the gamers".
If that's the case, I wish more companies would "F-me".
Sisyphus @ Apr 30th 2009 2:58PM
I wish more companies would F-us like Tim Schafer does. This game makes me want to get a PS3 or 360.
The Dark Wayne @ Apr 30th 2009 3:02PM
I see in no way how this is an F-U to gamers
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 30th 2009 3:12PM
This game is too BRUTAL for you. Stick to your grandpa's guitar. Tim and Double Fine will melt your face. Oh, and LEMMY!!!! Can't wait to see Halford either! I love Priest and Motorhead.
fred @ Apr 30th 2009 7:04PM
More like making sweet love to gamers.
Joe Reddie @ Apr 30th 2009 2:57PM

Tony Bowman @ Apr 30th 2009 2:57PM
anything with Lemmy Killmeister is an automatic win, in my book.
pibs @ Apr 30th 2009 3:12PM
"Who would win in a fight between Lemmy and God?"
Trick Question, Lemmy IS God
The Dark Wayne @ Apr 30th 2009 5:36PM
eh, sorry Rob Halford is the official Metal God.
Red_Paladin @ May 1st 2009 8:06PM
Airheads, great movie \,,/
jfrnandez @ Apr 30th 2009 3:37PM
Well believe it or not but my middle name is Lemuel but for short they call me "Lemmy". I thought that my nick name wasn't common but then again it's in a video game. Very interesting....
BUGz @ Apr 30th 2009 3:40PM

Just the mumblings of a moron. Although it almost works as a rap.

THE Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 30th 2009 5:28PM
lap-slide bass
Letters2Kay @ Apr 30th 2009 5:57PM
Never heard of it, but that'd explain it... :)
maskedrose @ Apr 30th 2009 6:16PM
This is a disgrace to both the gaming industry and the metal world.
I still don't understand the plot.... what is it? Stop the hair metal king from converting all of your groupies into hair metal fans?
Or something?
This is dumb.
Ed @ Apr 30th 2009 6:29PM
I don't think enough has been revealed to make the plot clear, but why should that cause you to judge it to be a disgrace?
I have a great deal of faith that this game will be a good one due directly to my experience of other games Tim Schafer has been responsible for. Its not the concept alone that makes his games great - Its the wildly creative ways in which concepts are executed, and the great ideas and fresh creative energy that permeate the games.
Metal is an area of culture that I've never really had a great deal of interest in exploring, but any conceptual archetype can be explored in an insightful and entertaining way, so I remain dedicatedly excited for this game because I believe in Tim Schafer's output, as well as that of Double Fine as a whole, from experience.
I just hope a PC version eventually happens. I really don't want to buy a console for one game.
BUGz @ May 1st 2009 1:19AM
Amen, look at all my devoted comments by these groupies
maskedrose @ Apr 30th 2009 8:35PM
Tim already admitted in an interview he had to make a choice when making the came.... make it specific (musically) to the genre - and only having 'metalheads' buy the game, or pick well known bands so anybody can enjoy the game BUT loose the core fan base of metallers - he says no... he can have both.
No, no you cannot, Tim.
I don't feel like playing a game where I meet up with General Lita Ford and Lars - they're both money grubbing douche bags that are poor representations of the genre, and Halford is past his prime and cannot sing anymore, so of course he'd sell out for some money, just like how he is producing a clothing line now (ugh.) Those are some bands I plan not to waste my money on this summer.
Oh and, Jack Black is a moron. More reason NOT to buy this game
InfiniteNine @ May 3rd 2009 2:35AM
I saw Priest on the Metal Gods tour, and Rob can in fact still sing wonderfully.
BUGz @ May 1st 2009 1:18AM
i can care less how i spell on a stupid comment if you care then you must have no life,
the graphics look like ps1 graphics it's just retarded we laughed and thought it was a joke when they showed the trailer at the spike tv game awards
maskedrose @ May 1st 2009 1:22AM
I wouldn't say the graphics are ps1.. I'd say early ps2 graphics.. or damn awful ps3 graphics (think untold legends.. good game.. but god awful graphics). I popped in Tomb Raider Chronicles the other day and I didn't last 5 minutes before turning it off. I couldn't tell the difference between a door, window, or wall. Ahh.. gray playstation - those were the simple days.
maskedrose @ May 3rd 2009 7:19AM
Really? I did too. He didn't even sing Breaking the Law - he had the audience sing it.
Pathetic.
