Really, EA? Active is what you see as the future?

Exergaming has definite potential, but this...

I like this Peter Moore. He saw Microsoft holding his creative vision down, so he left them to do what he envisions.

Leaving Microsoft. Now that just sounds good.

Cut to Peter Moore previewing this at E3, hitting the pause with every faux curl-up.

I just wish for once that they would market games like this realistically. Like this boxing chick for example. What person do you know that plays Wii Fit, My Fitness Coach or any of those exergames, gets dressed up in full workout attire just to play a video game? And just look how into it she is....give me a break. This company's going to Hell in a handbasket.

Uh, I wouldn't call what I wear "full workout attire", but I wouldn't really call that it either.

Plenty of people put on gym clothes when they work out at home. No reason they wouldn't do that just because it's a game. Not to mention those of us who mix exergaming with more traditional gaming. And why in the world wouldn't she be into it? It's exercise. People have been into things far less substantial, I mean, Richard Simmons videos. Hellooo.

The only way i'm getting off the couch is to go to the bathroom or change games.

I'm going to singlehandedly stop this entire "exergaming" thing myself, killing myself with my own obesity if thats what it takes.

Probably because she has no idea what the hell she's even doing. That's why she would'nt be into it. And gamers don't put on gym clothes when they play this game. And by gym clothes I mean the Nike or Under Armour gear with running shoes like she's wearing. Exergames will be the death of the gaming industry! You'll see! You call me crazy now! Buy I'll show you! I'll show you all! AH-HAHAHAH!!

Well, I guess we know EA hasn't completely learned their lesson.

First they lost the point of games, instead thinking of them as "IPs". Now they're moving on to calling them "platforms".

im sick of these fitness games, for the cost of these games you could get a membership at the ymca, im aware you pay a month but if you factorin the cost of wii fit, and a wii its not far off. its amazing nintendo has gotten away with getting lazy people to buy this crap (ironically i bought one too, used it for two weeks and never used it again) its not a "platform", its a gimick

Yep, this is fake exercise. Just like it has been proven that the Brain Training games do nothing for you brain, this shit doesn't really do anything for your physical form. You would so be better off just buying a workout DVD, a couple of weights and setting up a weekly routine. That doesn't require a console or any game and it really works unlike the Wii bullshit.

If you don't like it, then just don't buy it. It's as simple as that!

Me, I love the idea behind these "exergames" (and the Wii in general) because they're so much more ACTIVE than the more traditional consoles. Get off your @$$ to play a game? Why not?

Yep, I have Wii Fit. I don't use it as often as I should because I don't have the time (I really need to work that into my routine again...), but I enjoy it when I do use it. I'm sure this game will be fun, too. And unlike a gym membership, I don't have to keep paying for it even when I'm too busy to use it. ;)
