PSN Thursday: Marvel vs Capcom vs the Helghast

Two big deals appear on the PSN Store in the US this week. Killzone 2 gets its first batch of DLC and the Marvel vs Capcom 2 demo is now available for everyone to enjoy. Yes, even those of you in Europe, if you've got a US account. Other than that it's mostly DLC, including even more Disgaea 3 content. PSP owners have a Patapon 2 demo to try out in preparation for its imminent release.

I agree with you it's a pretty useless demo.I don't understand Capcom they where hyping this demo cause it was an "exclusive demo but it's pretty crappy so 360 owners aren't missing out on anything.The bad part is the game might not come till after E3.

I agree. I downloaded the demo last night, only to realize that there was no single-player option. Considering that I've never played this series (but the buzz has peaked my interest), I figured I'd get the "feel" of the game by playing alone before I ventured off against human opponents.

Oh well...back to trying to avoid losing more Battle Points in SFIV.

Well, not EVERYBODY is going to get it. (I have the Dreamcast version and I'd rather not buy another Backbone game if I can help it.) But still, whether people who download the demo are planning to buy the full game or not, it should let you play single player against a few characters.

Roto, dude, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that way. I thought Joint Strike 1942 was crap, I even thought SSFIIHDR was absolute junk as well. I bought the Genesis Collection (for $20 Cdn mind you) and it was ok because it's old games, but ya, the presentation was terrible.

Backbone really is a bad developer, I had no idea they were behind this game's release. I'll skip out on buying it. They probably made it so some super heroes can go through fireballs (E Honda factor).

Actually, i was so fucking hyped up with this game, cuz i loved first one on PSX but the demo just made not want to buy it. Mostly cuz they didnt even include a character that wasnt on the first one. Sucky.
Also, i prefer MK controls better, with SF and MvsC i feel like the controller wont live long XD and it is way less accurate.

Once again there is nothing for the PSP, just junk. Fuck you, Sony

Ha ha. That's so stupid. Thank god I still have MvC2 for the dreamcast. Now that I know what the PS3 demo is like I won't bother downloading it! Do you even get access to all the characters in the demo?

Don't bother is a shitty demo with six characters and the moves do high damage so it ends fast.I think this is the worst demo ever released )=

You only get Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spidey on the Marvel side, and Strider, Ryu, and Chun Li for Capcom... for a grand total of 6 characters....

Six characters is plenty for a demo. It's the lack of a single player mode that makes it crap.

Wow, what a let down. I wasn't expecting much out of MvsC2 demo, but I don't think the option of playing against the CPU is asking too much. And people without another controller are out of luck completely, they can't even look at the game. Another week, another shitty update.

Screw this, I'll use my Dreamcast.

But for real though, the MvC2 demo was going to be the highlight of my PSN experience for this week since most of the content that comes out on a weekly basis is usually straight trash. And here I am getting all hyped for this game, a game that the internets have been dying for, and Capcom decides to drop a deuce on my excitement and release f'n training mode. They could have just mentioned that when the announcement for the demo was made. I mean damn, people have to go to work and school tomorrow. At least they could have provided play against the CPU. And I am not going to travel to find someone to play a damn demo. This is just as bad as charging people for hard mode in Mega Man 9. F this.

lawlz. i'm dying with laughter with the angry wave of otaku weirdos with no real friends (internet doesn't count) who are pissed off about the mvc2 demo. it's the same game as before. knowing capcom the servers for the game are not even live yet...or even implemented. they'll probably throw together a netplay code in about a weeks time. and be happy with stealing all the moneys

Hardly anyone is asking to play online, we just want to be able to play vs the computer in single player. I think everyone would understand if the MP servers wouldn't ready yet.

think capcom will back pedal and say they decided to take out the online support because it taints the way the game was made to be played. it was some bull similar to that for re right. omg we are incorporating soe gears of wars controls! (but really just added strafe!!!!!)

webkatt, you don't get it. It's a demo that you can only play using local multiplayer without any online play or play against the computer. Now why the hell am I going to travel to find someone to play a damn demo or have them come over to play a damn demo? If I am going to do that, I might as well just play this on the Dreamcast.

I was hyped about this because this was the only bright spot in my PSN day, but Capcom done shat on that. Capcom should be building hype, not killing it right at the jump by releasing this demo of a demo. Whatever, I will just wait quietly until it finally releases.

I'm just finishing up my shift right now. My thing is that if they would have just came out and said that the demo was local-only, I would have been cool with that and would have just waited on the full game to come up instead of getting hyped up for this. But they leave that glaring detail out, making us find out on our own. But whatever. I have other things to do. And I already have the full game, so I'm good. Just annoyed because this PSN Thursday is the gay.
