I figured this one was rather obvious. Well known to have been in development, and it would fill out Microsoft's anemic lineup rather nicely.

I think ol MS has a few tricks up their sleeve. But sure enough Forza should pretty much be a free square for E3 bingo.

A bit of an exaggeration, and not meant as a slight against them. Nintendo's lineup for the latter half of the year is equally anemic, if not more so.

Just a matter of them keeping secrets to a greater degree than they usually do.

I love Forza and I can't wait for its sequel. But I am having a hard time seeing a Forza resemblance except for the orange and black.

And actually the first picture that came to my mind just from looking at the first pic was this...

don't ask me why, maybe I am just tired lol.

Well if you think so, go on GT5 posts and make some comments there; instead of littering your PS3 fanboyism here.

Fanboyism? I'm simply stating a fact, GT5 is gonna blow everything away. I play games on all systems including PC. But this is yet another example where a PS3 game > 360 game. Cry more.

umm...no. Forza 3 will KILL GT5. GT5 is an old style racer with "nice" graphics. Forza has magic GT5 won't have.

I'm pretty certain that Forza will probably attract a bigger crowd because 1) it has a 2009 release date and 2) MS hasn't been showing it off for the last four years...

As for GT5, Sony better pull their shit together and announce a solid release day because ever since the demo came out two years ago, this game has been slipping further and further into the realms ruled by Duke Nukem Forever.

Considering we know nothing about Forza 3, what you're saying can only be because of fanboyism, especially as the previous Forza games have been much more the "real driving simulator" than Gran Turismo. A lot more realistic, a lot more customisable but still include enough options and features for the more casual players.

If MS is going to drop another shit steering wheel on us for Forza 3 like they did for Forza 2, it doesn't matter how good the simulation is.

If they're going REMOVE tracks from Forza 3 like they did from Forza 2 it doesn't matter how good the simulation is.

I'm actually looking forward to Forza 3 more than GT5, simply because GT5 is such vapor. But if past history is a guide, my hopes will come crashing down on release day.

Come on MS, don't mess this one up.

dirty your right...
MS always seem to have things "games" up their sleeves and they dont seem to announce most of them 4 years, 3 years, or 2 years in advance.

how much notice did we get for Left 4 Dead in Oct08?
how about star ocean:TLH recently.
or the last remnant...

MS didnt say at E3 2007 or 2006 that left 4 dead will be on the 360 in 2008..
they dont need to do that..
but sony has been talking about some games for many years, some of which were already supposed to be released by now by the dates given by sony before.

and wasnt it a surprise to be able to continue fallout 3 with at least 3 exclusive DLC downloads, which many consider the game of 2008..

honestly i believe that sony has kept gaming market viability by showing the public the large array of games coming soon.

and who doesnt want to play duke nukem or wolfenstien anyway??
just wait for the announcements. MS will not let 360 fans down. have they yet really when it comes to a wide variety of exclusive game releases every year??

damn: my comment was meant to go above for dirty's reply to mr kahn..

but since im here and crashed the party...

i normally dont like racing games.
but snowblind is right..
nobody knows which game will be better as of now, and who cares because we all have different opinions and there is no better game.
if you like forza 3 better and i enjoy GT5 more, which is better??
what it does mean is that if you have 1 console and like racing games, you are going to have some great games coming soon.

but given the development time and GT5prologue release, there really shouldnt be many issues with that game... they pretty much did a test run on the gaming public by releasing the demo named prologue.
they are able to work with all feedback given to them.
forza 3 has not received the same treatment.

By the time GT5 comes out, two much more superior Forza games would have been available.

I've been anticipating this game since I've played the second installment of the series.

"Enjoy playing GT5 in 2012." Nah, I bet they'll delay until 2015, when the PS2 redux hits the market... but the world will probably gone by then, I mean if you delay it past the Mayan calender then you're seriously screwed.

ms will not use a racing game as their big punch out at E3 i believe...

and when do they only have 1 huge announcement..
they usually go for the knockout at these events the past few years.
i wouldnt be surprised to see a big epic games announcement..
such as here is some gears 3 footage for 2010...

or here isa blank screen that reads halo 4 for 2011..

we should expect a few new JRPG announcements maybe from mistwalker, tri-ace, and or square.

no matter what its a good day to own a ps3 or 360.

Well, time for some more "realistic" damage modeling, forza style, where you can drive into a wall at 150mph and get away with the odd dented door.

Well at least it's not like GT, where you bounce off the walls like they're rubber. Hell, if you do it right you can even use it to get by hard turns easier.

That's funny, when I do it right, I don't hit any walls. In both games.

Is you want to ignore the point of the game, which is to drive well, I don't see how it's a big deal whether the game tries to punish you or not. You're already punishing yourself. And if you're not feeling punished, if you enjoy it, who is to say the game should be changed so you'd have less fun?

Well, if you're making a car sim then you shouldn't be able to bounce off walls and even cheat turns by bouncing off walls with no penalty. It's not mario kart.

Why is it not mario kart? If I want to play mario kart, why should the game tell me I shouldn't? It's not my mom.

Personally, I don't hit walls and I don't cut corners. But the point of having fun is to have fun, not to satisfy tmacairjordan87. If some people have more fun because they hit walls, then that's up to them.

I prefer no damage, at least when driving solo. I restrict myself to what I could do in the real world anyway. If I wreck, I'll voluntarily restart. And enforced damage has a downside. You are driving along minding your own business and a computer car decides it needs to be in a nonsensical spot and now your car is damaged and you are penalized for it for the rest of a race. What if the computer car bones you like this 20 laps into a 40 lap race? You have to restart. If damage is not enforced, I can decide if it was my fault and if it wasn't, I'm still able to continue without being slowed down by a damaged car. If it was, I can restart if I wish or otherwise penalize myself.

Damage has some value in online racing since it keeps chuckleheads from cheating in a way I'm not willing to do. This is the same theory as corner cut penalties. Unfortunately, everyone has a different standard on these things. For sure I've been angry before watching people cut 14 and 15 at the N-ring (grand prix track) in PGR3 (I think it was PGR3). But the real solution to buttholes is rarely rules, they'll find new ways to be buttholes within the new rules. The real solution is to play with people you get along with and come to an agreement on what is okay and what isn't.

Yeah, I agree, the damage is at least something. Typically your front end will get smashed up bad though, I think the lack of damage is kind of exaggerated. It could definitely be improved, but if it was super realistic 75% of the people playing it would never finish a race.

I LOVE Forza 2. I cannot wait for 3.

The Microsoft's guy don't said anything, just show to us that, and told to: "You are not seeing this".
About the new Halo, he tell to us he played the game and it's amazing.

He say lot of other things interesting to us from Brazil, but nothing more for the rest of the world.

Last year he brought to us the very firts demo of Ninja Gaiden 2.

I wonder what they are going to improve on Forza 2 (I have and love the first and second one). More tracks or other cars would not justify a new game imho. Perhaps they could include F1 cars and a rally-mode... but would it still be Forza?
