Rounding out our inFamous coverage from Sony's Gamers' Day event, here are two, thorough gameplay videos (above and after the break), which shed light on the rather dark world featured in Sucker Punch's sandbox action title. The videos put into motion the mechanics that power not-so-pedestrian bike messenger, Cole McGrath, up, over and through these urban environments and their precarious vertical obstacles and junk yard-spawned, mechanical overseers. Typical, infamous carjacking/hooker-beating this is not.
inFamous is scheduled for release on May 26, exclusively on PS3.

i heard they are also giving infamous clothes (ala Killzone 2) for Home if you pre order, but from where? this game looks fun, can't wait to play it.

I don't understand the criticism either. To be honest I think most of it is because its a PS3 exclusive and maybe some people think that Prototype looks better. I love the concept of InFamous and the execution looks to make it one of the best games this year. If I had to guess I would say that a high 80's metacritic average and possibly 1.5 million in sales by the end of the year are attainable. Then, it will be another great game to bundle with the console in 2010. It would be terrific to have a PS3 bundle that included some form of Killzone 2, InFamous and/or Little Big Planet. It just seems like Sony hasn't missed a beat this year with the PS3 and it's stream of high quality exclusives, PSN games and DLC. Then when you start looking at what the PSP has done and will continue to do with it's stable of titles it's looking like Sony has a fantastic year. It just seems like they are firing on all cylinders aside from hardware sales.

Just another completely awesome looking PS3 exclusive that will be bashed by everyone that can't buy it because they don't want to drop 600 bucks on a PS3. Pretty sad. I can already see it now. I saw it with MGS4, Uncharted, Warhawk, etc. etc. Luckily I'll enjoy it still.

Nice to see your not hindered by bullets when climbing or jumping. Will make the platforming areas much less frustrating.

Climbing a collapsing bridge is just a recipe for awesome. Loved every second of that video. I can't wait for this game!

Yeah, the whole open-world area is designed a lot like the environments in Sly. You can tell this game was developed by Sucker Punch

This game looks great. Although I do agree that there are a lot of similarities between Infamous and Prototype. But Infamous has its own unique style that makes it different. Check the gameplay videos here.
