Need for Speed: Undercover is getting some much-needed extra fuel, both premium and unleaded. Electronic Arts has announced a pair of DLC packs for the ill-received sequel, including a free Challenge Series and a premium collection of customized "boss" vehicles.
The Challenge Series promises a handful of new cars, as well as 60 events across a pair of new game modes, including "Highway Wars," a mix of highway battles and sprint racing, and "Highway Checkpoint," where drivers will maneuver through traffic to reach checkpoints and beat the clock.
The $5 Boss Car pack, on the other hand, gives players access to every boss car in the game, from Carmen's Shelby GT500 to Nickel's Dodge Viper SRT10. Interestingly, the downloads are currently only available for the PlayStation 3, though EA notes that both packs are "coming soon" for the Xbox 360 and PC. Until then, drivers are urged to turn off their ignition and wait patiently for their turn at the pump.

God, why did they bother? Out of the five people who bought it, four of them traded it in.

I did that with the Wii version... thankfully I beat it the week I got it, and traded up to UG2 on PS2.

L4D?
I don't think PS3 owners are interested in DLC for games they can't buy...
Would you like some MGS4 DLC on xbox, you know, just to rub it in...

hmm... Funny thing is, the "L4D DLC" is just a patch. Adds one new map, several bugged achievements (on PC anyway), and a new mode that gets boring after it does not award you the survival medals (bronze, etc.).
So, keep the halfassed L4D crap. I don't want it. If I would have bought it on sale, like right now on STEAM, I would not be so mad.
About the other games... WHY do you need dlc for them? They are 20 hours by themselves. What could possibly be the purpose of putting 20 more hours in it? Especially with much better games out (on ps3 anyway).
I will just keep the better exclusives, and cool PSN games.

Really? The last awesome one was NFS III: Hot Pursuit. Long before PS2. It even required a Voodoo 2 graphics accelerator for 'inside view camera'. Good times. And the music was great too!

Did Sony have to pay $50m for this to happen like MS often do?

I don't know why the Playstation 3 seems to be getting content (demos, DLC) exclusively or earlier than the Xbox 360 counterparts lately.
Is it because Microsoft is not throwing as much money around or is it that Sony is finally stepping up to the plate?

My guess is Sony is hinting at a EA store like they did for Capcom (hence some exclusive/early DLC from Capcom). It's pretty much 0 cost to them.

How suitable of the PS3 to get first dibs on DLC for a game of this caliber. Hahaha, oh man I wish NFS was a good series again.

I used to have that car, until I sold it for the newest A4! I wish they'd start adding the new A4 though, with the LED lights :D
