Need for Speed: Undercover DLC released, PS3 only for now
Need for Speed: Undercover is getting some much-needed extra fuel, both premium and unleaded. Electronic Arts has announced a pair of DLC packs for the ill-received sequel, including a free Challenge Series and a premium collection of customized "boss" vehicles.
The Challenge Series promises a handful of new cars, as well as 60 events across a pair of new game modes, including "Highway Wars," a mix of highway battles and sprint racing, and "Highway Checkpoint," where drivers will maneuver through traffic to reach checkpoints and beat the clock.
The $5 Boss Car pack, on the other hand, gives players access to every boss car in the game, from Carmen's Shelby GT500 to Nickel's Dodge Viper SRT10. Interestingly, the downloads are currently only available for the PlayStation 3, though EA notes that both packs are "coming soon" for the Xbox 360 and PC. Until then, drivers are urged to turn off their ignition and wait patiently for their turn at the pump.

God, why did they bother? Out of the five people who bought it, four of them traded it in.
Livi70590 @ May 1st 2009 11:01AM
Because they brought out Trophies.
DarkTetsuya @ May 1st 2009 12:19PM
I did that with the Wii version... thankfully I beat it the week I got it, and traded up to UG2 on PS2.
NaeemTHM @ May 1st 2009 10:34AM
Who says the PS3 doesn't get exclusive content! Take that GTA4, L4D, and Fallout!
I.AM.IRON.MAN @ May 1st 2009 10:53AM
L4D?
I don't think PS3 owners are interested in DLC for games they can't buy...
Would you like some MGS4 DLC on xbox, you know, just to rub it in...
CannabisPrime @ May 1st 2009 11:00AM
"EA notes that both packs are "coming soon" for the Xbox 360 and PC."
Exclusive to the PS3 eh?
JDHexen @ May 1st 2009 11:24AM
@CannabisPrime
He was just joking.
Tyler @ May 1st 2009 11:33AM
hmm... Funny thing is, the "L4D DLC" is just a patch. Adds one new map, several bugged achievements (on PC anyway), and a new mode that gets boring after it does not award you the survival medals (bronze, etc.).
So, keep the halfassed L4D crap. I don't want it. If I would have bought it on sale, like right now on STEAM, I would not be so mad.
About the other games... WHY do you need dlc for them? They are 20 hours by themselves. What could possibly be the purpose of putting 20 more hours in it? Especially with much better games out (on ps3 anyway).
I will just keep the better exclusives, and cool PSN games.

I would like MGS ANYTHING on the 360. It's the only franchise I can't play ;___;

No, I don't you guys are. However, I think you might be interested in great games that just didn't come out on Sony's system at all.

jeff @ May 1st 2009 10:35AM
Oh god no, what shall we xbox users do? Oh I know, how aqbout continue to not give a crap.

Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ May 1st 2009 11:02AM
Really? The last awesome one was NFS III: Hot Pursuit. Long before PS2. It even required a Voodoo 2 graphics accelerator for 'inside view camera'. Good times. And the music was great too!
Cody @ May 1st 2009 11:06AM
Hot Pursuit 2 for Gamecube was the pinnacle of NFS.
Adrian @ May 1st 2009 10:41AM
Too bad, there'll be 7 very unhappy people.
Brian @ May 1st 2009 10:46AM
Need for Speed: Undercover is a good game
Adrian @ May 1st 2009 10:53AM
LOL. Funniest thing I have heard all year!
Brian @ May 1st 2009 12:01PM
Shut up jackass. I wasn't trying to be funny.
Maverick Saturn @ May 1st 2009 12:09PM
Which is even more funny.
Mazrael @ May 1st 2009 3:35PM
Your new aren't you, Brian..
Where I'm from, It's Chav's & low-lifes that want 'Need for Speed'.. mearly asking for it, gets you a mention over the storenet radio (ie.. your gonna get watched by security til you leave the town)
I.AM.IRON.MAN @ May 1st 2009 10:48AM
makes a change.
Did Sony have to pay $50m for this to happen like MS often do?
NaeemTHM @ May 1st 2009 11:45AM
It was the other way around, EA paid Sony to take this crap.
I.AM.IRON.MAN @ May 1st 2009 11:50AM
@ Naeem: Lol... sounds about right!
jarhead906 @ May 1st 2009 11:21AM
I don't know why the Playstation 3 seems to be getting content (demos, DLC) exclusively or earlier than the Xbox 360 counterparts lately.
Is it because Microsoft is not throwing as much money around or is it that Sony is finally stepping up to the plate?
Maverick Saturn @ May 1st 2009 12:10PM
Its because Undercover isn't worth throwing cash out to get earlier DLC ¬_¬
tmontana213 @ May 1st 2009 12:04PM
What I would like to know is where the hell is the Wolverine demo?!?!?!?
James @ May 1st 2009 12:13PM
My guess is Sony is hinting at a EA store like they did for Capcom (hence some exclusive/early DLC from Capcom). It's pretty much 0 cost to them.
Maverick Saturn @ May 1st 2009 12:15PM
So......what of Lost Planet 2 being exclusive to 360?
SA_Royal @ May 1st 2009 12:51PM
We'll be to busy playing Uncharted 2 to notice Lost Planet 2
Arturo @ May 1st 2009 1:41PM
And I'll be busy playing both! :)
mean2u @ May 1st 2009 2:40PM
How suitable of the PS3 to get first dibs on DLC for a game of this caliber. Hahaha, oh man I wish NFS was a good series again.
James @ May 1st 2009 3:40PM
I used to have that car, until I sold it for the newest A4! I wish they'd start adding the new A4 though, with the LED lights :D
Barron @ May 1st 2009 3:47PM
Lucky PS3 owners :(
They get this and the rest of us get some silly Fallout DLC
It's not even fair.
Adrian @ May 1st 2009 4:31PM
Funny guy.
