Raven Software wants to make a Deadpool game

The developer behind X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Raven Software, is anxious to try its hand at another Marvel character, Deadpool. The slapstick, loud-mouthed mercenary would be the perfect subject for a new game, Wolverine project lead Dan Vondrak told UGO. Vondrak says Raven Software loves Deadpool and his "smartass attitude."

Vondrak says that if the company is able to pursue a new project starring Deadpool, it would be the Deadpool from comics and not the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. We don't have to tell you how comforting that thought is. We're imagining a game like Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, but, you know, decent.

On a somewhat related note, the new Wolverine movie completely gets Deadpool as a character wrong.

Such a shitty movie.

The whole movie felt kind of like a quick buck, especially from the lack of character development.

I enjoyed it, but I prefer the original Wolverine, er, origins story.

yeah man it would of been better if he got the red suit but i guess thats later if he gets his own movie that is.

I agree, it was terrible. Not, "I'm a fanboy and it suckkkked!" as a movie it was terrible as well.

I thought the movie was decent. You are right about Deadpool though. In the beginning of the movie, Wade Wilson was bad-ass. I was pretty excited for what would happen later on with the character. Then came the unveiling of Deadpool at the end. That's where they screwed him up.

the beginning of the movie deadpool was pretty sick and then the end just they just butchered him. A deadpool game would be pretty sick though, but until then ultimate alliance.

well after the way they made a crappy game with Wolverine I think its a safe bet to let someone else do a Deadpool game. The reviews for the Wolverine game arent looking too good so far.

Like I said mostly 70's and 80's, which is fantastic considering there's only so much you can do with a dude with claws.

Do you always let someone else decide which games are good and bad for you? I just played the demo and it nails the feel a Wolverine game should have. You should try it out instead of regurgitating what you've read.

After playing the demo, I have to agree that the game isn't crappy, but is at best average (see mediocre). On a scale of 1 to 10 (1being horrible, 5 average, and 10 steller) I would give it a solid 5.

As for the movie, As a marvel fan it sucked. As an action flick fan it's average. If you liked the first 3 xmen movies, this is more of the same.

But the first 2 x-men movies rocked, and the third one sucked... so more of the same of what???

Well, the movies all seemed the same to me. My guess is that if you loved the first two, but didn't like the third one, it's because patrick stewart died not because the film was a vast departure from its prequels.

A Deadpool game would be awesome if they took there time and studied his moves and abilities because if they make him like Ninja Blade were he randomly swings his swords in there air for 35 seconds it wont be as fun and the ability to split a bullet in two would be an amazing feature:)

If you had problems with the combat in Ninja Blade, then it's all on you.

To Joystiq staff: While I normally fully endorse you putting word bubbles on various random pictures having the characters say whatever you want, I have to point out that Deadpool's word bubbles are almost universally yellow instead of the normal white that most other comic book characters have.

Other than that I am 100% behind more Deadpool.

I think he means because he teleports, except that Nightcrawler's teleporting is a power, whereas Deadpool uses a device on his belt to travel only short distances.

y is that this small time unpopular development companies get to make movie game's, thats y they suck!! imagine if Epic Games decided to make the Deadpool game, think creative of what hey can do with the Unreal Engine,

I definitely wouldn't say they were "small time" considering they have made X-Men Legends, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and are working on the new Wolfenstein game.

Also, why Epic Games? I like them but don't they mainly focus on shooters?
