The Ukraine continues to be a popular tourist trap for mutants and Geiger counter salesmen. GSC Game World will again revisit the Eastern European country in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, an upcoming "stand-alone expansion" to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. The Escapist recently culled some rad details on the upcoming title from the pages of Russian mag Gameplay, which reportedly referred to the game as a sequel set just days after the events depicted in the 2007 original.
Among the particulars is information that players won't be able to side with factions this time around, with more 'varied' and 'detailed' side quests promised instead. Day and night cycles are also said to figure more prominently in the game, with the article claiming that the developers are aiming to fix "mistakes" made in both the first game and its prequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky. Check out the full translation, as well as scans from the magazine on the FPSBanana forums while we wait in our lead bunker for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat to drop sometime this fall.

Stalker is still sitting in my Steam games list, unfinished. I've gotten a bit of the way through the game, usually to the same spot about 5 times, then my PC dies a bit and i have to format, and i can never find my save file to back it up. Eventually i found it, but i've lost the motivation to finish it even tho i know i like the game.

We can haz vehicles nao?
Seriously though, I feel like adding some vehicles could add a lot to the experience. Imagine they just gave you one, and you had to maintain it and find parts for it. The incentive would be that you could use the storage space in the car for carrying loot and supplies. I end up playing these games like Diablo, grabbing everything I can carry and selling it all back in town. A car would help so much XD.

I have no intention to return to Stalker again, great as that game was.
They've already exhausted the IP in my opinion...

Man, when I got to that part with all the dogs, I quit. It was seriously not fun running around trying to find the real one hiding in the bushes while 800 "illusionary" ones surrounded you and slowly bit you to death.

I wish there was more to do in camp then. Sure, you can just sleep through the night, which makes sense, but it seems like a missed opportunity for more NPC/narrative-based side-quests.

Hate to be a stickler, but it's not "The Ukraine", it's "Ukraine". That would be like saying "The America" is up to it again...
