MAG will be too cramped. I'm all for 256 players at a time, just with maps that can hold all of that action instead of constantly dying as soon as one leaves the safety of the spawn zone.

MLK Jr. thought the US should've sided with the North Vietnamese. I agree. The North was predicted to win an election that would've given them control over the country, so the South's government cancelled the election and pushed the whole nation to war. The US sided with the South. One of the biggest foreign policy mistakes in US history, IMO.

Eh. They were fooled into thinking that the North Vietnamese were serious about Communism or even really knew or cared what it was, which was sort of the point in that time period.

Also, isn't it a little hypocritical to blast the US for a callous, inhumane foreign policy and then say they should have sided with someone just because they were going to win an election? Not that I'm saying you feel that way, but most critics of the time did.

Why not move the opposite direction to the formation of the British Empire by way of musket power and the Red Coats. I'm sure that'd make for thrilling and intense fast paced battles - it'd only take 5 minutes to reload your musket to take a 2nd shot. On the Wii, you could even have minigames for reloading your musket.

Kayi, thats just retarded. Go and play CoD 2 then go play CoD "the big red one" or whatever its called.

Only an idiot, yourself maybe, would claim that the Treyarch games were as good a quality as the IW ones.

Hope it ends up being true, I can't remember the last decent Vietnam-era title I've played. BF: Vietnam doesn't count. I have faith that Treyarch can pull this one off if it's true.

I thought W@W was Treyarchs last CoD game...anyways, we'll have to just wait and see what happens. If they put as much effort into their next game as W@W, then they'll have a hit on their hands. Although I prefer Infinity Wards games, I very much enjoyed Treyarchs last effort.

I feel bad for Treyarch... they are in an absolute no win situation.

They were forced to rush CoD3 out the door and it showed. People just can't let it go and understand the constraints of the project.

Then CoD4 comes out and pretty much redefines the genre. Treyarch is already deep into development of WaW when that response is known, actually being given enough time to make a great game.

But then it comes out and people all dismiss it because it's back to WWII. So what? It was very well done, and actually focused on quite a few settings that hadn't been done much before. I thought the Japanese combat really lent it a unique feel. Graphics were awesome, even better than CoD4 IMO. Single player campaign was fantastic. Very cool voice acting.

They also get rided for "copying" CoD4. What? This is the next game in the series! Here's a tip people, it's SUPPOSED to be similar and have a lot in common!

There has never been a great Vietnam game. Never, it's weird. Battlefield Vietnam was pretty good (but had no singleplayer) and got me loving the era and its music, esp. in a game/shooter. Vietcong, Men of Valor and Shellshock failed deliver at 100% (more like 65%). The Vietnam War needs/deserves a great shooter, and I will support/buy any game--esp. another BF or COD--that involves 60's 'Nam and is even slightly good.

. . . I'm in!

#1 Yesss.
#2 We need a Korea game.
#3 I'd like to see a WWI game. Unless you're using a mounted machine gun, you're going to be restricted to one shot per trigger pull so the damage for each shot would need to be upped to kill someone in one or two hits unless you got one of those crappy Chauchat machine guns but even the WWI solidiers didn't want one. Trench warfare might be a little boring if you're just waiting there for hours but I'm SURE an entire war could have some interesting bits. It would be fun to rolling around in one of those little tanks they had back then. At the very end of the war they did introduce the BAR so it would be pretty awesome to start mowing people down with one of those in the last level of the game.

It just amazes me how movies are the largest base of our knowledge of this war (or most wars). Im not trying to judge, I just find it fascinating is all.

Well I'm glad they are letting IW make the newer stuff. I don't think I feel bad for Treyarch, they do a good job at copying success. And if they are allowed and supposed to do it then fine, but I'm not going to buy their version of Call of Duty expecting something newer and better.

CoD2 - fantastic
CoD3 - fail
CoD4 - best yet
CoD5 - best yet in a costume
MW2 - I expect greatness
CoD7 - ...could be their chance to set themselves apart from IW.
No one has really succeeded at a Vietnam War game, and they have the option to go in a different direction from MW2. And I don't mean different guns and maps and time period, I mean a complete different style to try to establish themselves as something besides a good copy cat. No reason to deny it, it made them money.

@war only sucked because there was a plethora of much better WWII games preceding it, including the first two Call of Duty titles.

This is a territory almost entirely untouched by the gaming gods. The only 'Nam game I remember enjoying is Battlefield Vietnam. I think Treyarch can pull this one off.

I cannot see Treyarch pulling this off. I don't think that can even begin to accomplish what EA did with BF: Vietnam. I call it, "atmosphere". Doesn't anyone else here think that game was great because you could play "surfing bird" while firing a fucking gun ship at someone?

or napalm?

CMON!
