I will consider buying this if Arturo Gotti opens a cut when the fighters touch gloves at the beginning of the fight. That guy was a bleeder.

Don't mean to be hammering your comment Donald, just trying to keep it in-thread...

Thinking about Gatti reminded me of a couple awesome fights (both losses for Gatti) he had against Ivan Robinson in the late-90's that are less talked-about than the Ward-Gotti matches. If you like to see guys trade a lot of punches, these were great fights (and findable on youtube).

It were these, plus the Mickey Ward and Angel Manfredy fights that hooked me into watching boxing in the 90's. It didn't matter if he lost or not, Gatti had string of some of the most entertaining fights of the era.

@Donald

Exactly my thoughts. Once I saw Gatti, I looked for Ward's name. I was actually talking about their fights the other day too. Oh well.

I see that now that EA actually has to pay him, Alexis Arguello is no longer considered good enough to be in an EA boxing game.

De La Hoya's also the biggest self-promoter in the history of boxing, so it's not surprising that EA didn't want to fork out Oscar cash for a guy who's not hot anymore.

Maybe in his heyday he was more popular, but now, not so much, and definitely not enough to justify the money he was likely asking for.

No Juan Manuel Marquez? How can fight fans finally settle the Marquez-Pacquiao rivalry.

Juan Diaz would have also been a great addition, as well as Antonio Margarito and his "hands of stone" (literally!). So would James Kirkland...better yet his trainer Ann Wolfe. That woman scares me.

It isn't really a joke because when Fight Night was Knockout Kings they did have the ear bite move during clinches.

Been there. Done that.
