XBLA is up for another threefer this week, with Zombie Wranglers (no, really), Arkanoid Live and Space Invaders Extreme all hitting the service. Arkanoid Live and Space Invaders Extreme are both remakes of arcade classics, while Zombie Wranglers is a co-op game that tasks players with -- you guessed it -- wrangling zombies. All three games will be available this Wednesday for 800 ($10) each.
If you'd rather nab Zombie Wranglers for free, developer Frozen Codebase is giving away five download codes on the official Zombie Wranglers Facebook page. Just leave a zombie survival tip on the wall to enter.
A title with such promise, yet apparently so little lasting value. You can throw zombies into just about anything though and get decent hype/sales it seems nowadays. If they ever need to revitalize the Mama series, they could just sub in 'Zombie' instead of 'Mama'.
It looks like an awful rip off of Burn Zombie Burn for the PS3. Burn Zombie Burn isn't a fantastic downloadable game in the first place (it is good not great) so I would expect the knockoff to be even worse.
About half a year later, they announced Burn Zombie Burn (October 2008) ps3.ign.com/articles/922/922965p1.html
Zombie Wranglers was slotted with a September 17th release date, it was even part of the Schoktober fest run on XBLA in October of 2008. Two days before it's launch (9/17/08) it was pulled from the service forcibly due to the merger of Vivendi and Activision.
Word. At what point does $10 become a ridiculous price for a game that came out 23 years ago. Even older if you count Breakout, designed by Steve Jobs and Wozniak in 1976. A full 33 years old!
Yes. I don't like how 800 is the new 400. I'd likely buy both SIE and AL if they were each 400, but at 800 a pop I'm going to think about it. At best I'll likely try both and get one.
I would love to play me some Arkanoid and Space Invaders X, if it weren't for the fact that my FIFTH XboX360 died on me yesterday. I went to play an online game of OutRun and my box froze up and the screen filled with graphical glitches. I knew what had happened, yet again. I turned the power off and back on again, and WHOOOOP! THERE IT IS!!! RROD! Honest to God Microsoft! I have my 360 and PS3 sitting nicely on glass shelves, open on all sides of the consoles.
...of the short list of systems that I have owned (NES, Sega Master System, SNES, Sega GENESIS (w/32x), Sega Saturn, Atari Jaguar, 3DO (that was a whole summer of washing dishes well spent), Sega Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, Nintendo Wii and numerous hand-helds), NONE of those systems EVAR crapped out on me!
I nearly snapped on the kind gentleman helping on the phone when he suggested that I send in my 360 with my own box.
>>X360 Magazine UK: >>Zombie Wranglers sucks. Especially the 'comedy' names they've given each level. They >>really suck.
1) Eat a bowl of fuck.
2) OK...let me get this straight. This guy writes for a magazine called "X360 Magazine UK," presumably because "Official Xbox Magazine UK" was already taken, and he's criticizing the names that OTHER people give to things? One assumes level names this dope would have found more appealing would have included titles like "Xbox Game Level 1 USA" "Xbox Game Level 2 USA" and other highly imaginative variants. Please stop -- we can't compete with your blistering levels of innovation and wit!!!
3) This guy lives in a country that built a tunnel under the English Channel so it would be easier to drive to a country where Jerry Lewis is considered a comedic genius.
Don't shoot the messenger. I'm sure the guy that wrote the review wasn't the founder of the magazine so it's not a fair criticism. Same goes for the English channel remark. In the end the mose iinsightful commentary in the entire post you made was "Eat a bowl of Fuck." I don't understand why you are so upset to begin with.
Yes I have been waiting for that zombie game. There is another game that I have been waiting for but of course I have memory like an elephant and I forget what it was. But YES zombies! Gotta kill em' all.
