I played this game because my room mate saw the film and wanted to extend his interest with wolverine beyond the silver screen, thinking it'll be as awesome as the movie was. (He doesn't have that great of taste in films, or anything for that matter, case in point: he felt the third riddick film was excellent and has no qualms about Star Wars eps. 1-3.) Oddly enough, I wound up beating this game in a half assed, two day weekend before he did. It's not bad, but it's not terribly good either. It's worth a rental, and the achievements/trophies are ridiculously easy to unlock. If anything, it's whetting my whistle until God of War 3 comes out, Kratos hand puppets and all.

The demo was pretty badass. But I guess it's just another hack n' slash from my point of view.

Okay. Okay. No need to get testy. I am just saying that God of War has done all the things that other games in it's genre have been trying to do right. I am not saying that Ninja Gaiden and DMC weren't good games, I am just saying that God of War's pacing, story and action were sublime. Devil May Cry's story and dialogue were kind of off and Ninja Gaiden cheated by having enemies off screen that attacked you with out being able to see them.(the cat creatures, the ninjas with explosive shuriken and soldiers with missile launchers were the most annoying when you couldn't see them).Even God of War's camera angle were perfect. Just the right distance and angle so you could see what was coming for you or where you were going. Believe what ever you want but God of War 3 is on the top of my list along with Uncharted 2 and Infamous

I've been playing this game for the last two nights and I cant without a doubt say that I love it.

Yes the pacing may be a little off but its not really a factor that I weigh the game on.

The fun is through the ceiling and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of both the genre or the character.

Absolutely love the game and it's very addictive. I didn't get all trophies before starting Hard Mode so I didn't take the easy way out for getting trophies. To people that haven't played yet, beginning hard mode wipes out all of your stats/upgrades/discoveries and you have a fresh start.

I'm almost at Platinum (2 more dog tags needed) and can honestly say that I was very pleased with the game.

The demo simply wont do it justice.

It's also my understanding that the game was in the works before Activision decided upon a movie tie-in. The game is what a Wolverine movie should be.

Actually, I know I'm in a minority here, but I don't think the movie was that bad. It was only when they were like, "Okay, we need to force Gambit to fit in this movie," that it started to get annoying. He showed up, did his thing and disappeared until the end. The plot up until then was very faithful to the Wolverine Origins comics (even the part where Wolverine and Sabretooth are brothers (or half-brothers?...I don't remember exactly.) I didn't like Deadpool at the end of the movie, but it does remind me of a clone story-arc, which may mean that the original Deadpool is still alive. They don't see fit to explain that, though. Hugh Jackman did a better job as Wolverine in this movie than he did in all of the X-Men films. It's clear that this was a sneaky reboot of the X-Men franchise (not really just a prequel) and, as it stands, it is probably the higher quality film in the franchise. If you can overlook the rushed job with Gambit, you will appreciate the rest the movie has to offer...or you can just play the game, which does more than the movie. Even Hugh Jackman says so.

So my only complaints...Will.I.Am should have never played Wraith and Gambit could have actually participated in the main plot instead of just being a stepping stone on Wolverine's path.

Well, there were three Riddick films technically. There was Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick movie, and then there was an animated film done by the same guy that did aeon flux and took place between the two previous films I mentioned. Can't recall the name off the top of my head, but it was a good animated film that was kind of important to the series, storyline wise. Hope that helped out.
