Latest Bionic Commando screens are full of swinging ... dreads

For all of you hotly anticipating the May 19 release of Bionic Commando, Capcom has dropped a gaggle of screens on us for your perusal, just below. Featuring Nathan "RAD" Spencer's (likely smelly and gross) flowing dreads in action as he swings through Ascension City -- as well as a variety of other combat scenes -- we can't help but reminisce on the days of yore when the dude couldn't even jump. Now he's in three freakin' dimensions!

GRIN's upcoming action-adventure/third-person swingin' shooter has been available for multiplayer demoing via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network for the past few days, but for those of you without access to the internet ... well, we wonder how you're reading this. But maybe you're at the local library and needed your daily Bionic Commando screenshot fix. Bang! Here it is!

Trying to be funny is far more important then facts.

It's no wonder that gaming isn't really accepted by the general media when the gaming media is such a joke.

this game looks fantastic! the dreads are a strange choice but they're better than spiky cloud strife hair.

I'll take dreads over the usual short-cropped hair any day of the week. Not everyone sports a damn chromedome!

It's okay there's a simple cheat code that allows you to play as the original character.

This game is great and the online is the most fun I've had in so long, it's got a classic feel to it AND swinging is as fun as it was back in the spiderman 2 days, This game better be great (and deep) or I'll hate capcom forever because I have high hopes for this game.

Too bad the swinging is not free-roaming. Early reports say that the structure of the single player campaign is numbingly linear (with very limited routes to swing).

Sorry but I just had to add that the online aspect blows. It's so generic past swinging around with the arm.

I'd hoped the single player aspect would fix the lazy hot air balloon weight physics of Lost Planet's objects but oh well. I guess this will do as it appears.

Just tried the demo at a friend's house on his 360. It's pretty frickin fun!

Trying to play through whatever is on the 360 that I want over at his house to save some stress on my wallet. Just bought a laptop and wanna get a sleeve this summer. It's either a sleeve of tattoos or a 360...

I'm trying to keep an open mind, but this may be one of those games where the character design alone completely turns me away. If they had stuck with the traditional BC quasi-Nazi bad guys and the stylized looks, this would be a day one purchase. Nathan "Dreads" Spencer and his soft-serve machine arm fighting generic alien invaders or whatever... not so much.

im getting really tired of seeing XBOX screens on the PLAYSTATIONside of joystiq. im sure there are PS3 screenshots out theresomewhere.

So you want a screen shot of the exact same thing?

You're right, KAPOW, Joystiq should take great care to write the same news story multiple times, each with differing screenshots based on the corresponding platform, because God forbid your screenshots contain "A"s and "B"s instead of "X"s and "O"s.

No, but a disclaimer under the pics of source would be good, as PS3 & 360 screens differ no? I own both but I'm usually curious to see the differences if any plus it's just good reporting ethics I think.

I hated the demo.

I had really high hopes for this game, but after playing the demo I have to say that Im really disappointed, the swinging is clunky and not at all fun as they said it would be, and the combat is just weak, I mean the pistol sounds like a cap gun for gods sake, GRIN is a great team capable of a way better next-gen BC game.. They did an absolutely fantastic job on BC:Rearmed, Maybe the single player will be better, but after hearing reports of how linear it is Im doubting that very much.

joystiq routinely makes me laugh out loud hey sometimes they get the "facts" wrong but I don't give a shit when it's about ps3. haha TROLL IN DA HIZOUSE!!!!!!

last time I checked dreads weren't dirty or smelly if they are taken care of like any other hair type.
