Report: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 scheduled for June 29 release [Update: Capcom disagrees]

In reporting its Q1 2009 financial results, Marvel Entertainment has revealed a short release schedule for its upcoming licensed products, including those that require the frantic mashing of buttons. Though the dates are noted as being subject to change, the fine purveyors of POW! indicate that Capcom's PSN and Xbox Live Arcade release of cross-company brawler, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, is currently set for release on June 29, 2009.

A quick flick through our Official Age of Apocalypse Calendar reveals that June 29th falls on a Monday, and since neither Xbox Live Monday nor PSN Monday exist, one may speculate that the game may be due sometime during the week of the 29th. We've asked Capcom for further information, though suspect that we'll receive little more than a 768-hit combo of non-commentary.

Update: Says Capcom's Seth Killian: "That's the first time I've heard that date, and so far as I know, it's not correct." It's Marvel vs. Capcom ... on release dates!

You guys are obviously retarded because this is an article with issues on the PC. I'm at work and want to know if there are problems with the Xbox version. Why do people love to hate?

Yes, Joystiq and its other sites seem to repost a lot of the information, which is fine since Joystiq refers to gaming in general and has its own entities for console gaming. However, Joystiq not posting about Xbox 360 specifically is understandable, but the 360 site should have some mention. I guess no news is good news for 360 owners seeing that the PC DLC has problems?

If there were some major problems with the 360 version known at this point, I'd imagine you'd be able to read about it on Joystiq since everyone is basically expecting it to be borked somehow. Were you looking for a "Broken Steel DLC on 360 works as intended" article to be posted? Take it as no news is good news, pal, and settle down.
