Not only that, he's all bundled up for winter - he's got a freaking toque on! Not to mention gloves and a winter jacket... Yet, he's exposing half his chest. WTF?

how? by telling the Europeans to speak one language? I doubt they can pump it out sooner than they normally can when they have so many languages to write for.

"It is our duty/life/responsibility to save this world."

SPOILER ALERT: There is going to be a group of characters that need to save a world, probably in magical shambles from some evil dark force.

Really? I thought it was all about fighting the evil bird menace that finds itself a nice home in your hair. Not so much in magical shambles but i guess you could consider these birds a dark force if they are flying over your parked car.

@ Orex

It does. The title of the whole XIII compilation is "Fabula Nova Crystallis" (which means "the New Tale of the Crystal" in Latin)

Regardless. It'll be interesting to see how they pull off the crystals in a game that's clearly not standard swords and sorcery fantasy like all the other crystal-based final fantasy games have been.

Good news -- though this may mean we'll see plenty of lips not moving right to dialog. A minor quip, sure, but this is the RPG king we're talking about here.

Please just let there be English subs in the Japanese release. I'm buying it anyway for fun, but knowing what the heck is going on would be tight.

FF7 and FF8 were awesome. Junction System and Materia Systems were great. FF12 was way too different from what i'm used to. Seriously, if you had enough AP, you could pretty much go around the entire board. But i guess that allowed you to level your characters according to your fighting style rather than the characters' stats dictating what you should give them.

I don't remember FFX's system that well. I'll agree that they really stepped up the level of graphics for the game since it came out on the (at the time, awesome) ps2. But yes, i hope that FFXIII will be closer to perfection than previous titles (including FFX-2 which had no blitzball...if i wanted to be a manager, i would play FM).

As for simultaneous releases, GTA IV didn't get released in the japanese market until 6 months later. you'd probably have a higher chance of getting square to agree to have all their programmers across the globe to work on this together - which would just take longer what with large amounts of data which need to be sent across the globe to please you, your majesty.

I do agree that I need more games like FF for my PS3. But a more realistic remedy for my FF craving would be to replay old ones, play DQ, continue to play the demo of FFXIII over and over again or hope that square will release FF7 for the PS3 - i don't even care if they remake it or not.
