You won't even have to wait a year at the rate Aerosmith dropped.

what's crazy is that even Aerosmith ended up pushing 2.5 mil units.... That's why they keep doing this. They could release this as DLC and maybe, MAYBE sell 1 million units of any one song..MAYBE. They can crank out these turd fests and will almost guarantee themselves 2+ mil sold. Even the Van Halen game, which is by far the weakest possible catalog to work from, will do that well.

Until people simply stop buying this shit, they'll keep cranking it out and I can't blame them. You have nitwits who will drop $60 for 2-3 songs, hell some people will do it for ONE song from ONE band.. if I could sell 2+ million units at $60 a pop and keep reusing the same engine, same art same everything, I'd do it too.

There was a slim possibility of me purchasing this game. That rested solely on the inclusion of Holy Diver. I return to Rock Band, a game that respects me.

Plenty of reason for people to buy it if they want to sing or drums along with these songs.

I counted 11 songs on the entire list I wanted, and a few of them are ones I could just buy as DLC for RB. Count me as one who will wait for the price drop on this. I picked up the GHWT Guitar and Game two weeks ago when Toys R Us had it for $50, but I still haven't opened it. I may even return it; I thought the GHSH set list would be a bit better.

Keep an eye on the ads and you can find a GH3 Les Paul (still my favorite fake instrument so far) for somewhere around $20-$25. Unless you don't live in the US, in which case, TS.

Cool. I'll have more money to spend on The Beatles: Rock Band by not buying "Smash Hits".
Fair enough.

I'll probably pick it up GH:SH from a bargain bin sometime next year for a couple pounds.

Also, there is a few good songs there, but no meta-game importing, no sale. Sorry, I'm fed up with disc juggling to get to the couple good songs I want to play.

It really doesn't make any sense to not have importing in this game. It's the greatest hits, and as such, should include GHWT and Metallica. I can understand it not being in the other games, but seriously, it would be a major faux pas to leave it out of Shams Hits.

Not that it would influence me into getting it, skipped over GHWT and GHM... Too little, too late.

Feh.

There are about 6 songs on there that I like that I can't already get on Rock Band, and none of them are good enough to get me to shell out for another GH game. Sorry Activision, you lose again.

Most likely couldn't get the master tracks. Hell, Harmonix couldn't even get master track for Moonage Daydream on the Bowie 3 pack in Rock Band. (Making the the first pack to have a cover alongside two master tracks)

It seems like they sort of forgot everyone's favorite songs. O.o
Where's "Sweet Child of Mine" or "Jump"?
There is pretty much a 0% chance that I'll purchase this. There's so many popular and awesome songs that they left out that it's not even funny. I've never even heard of some of these.

Much like the above poster's purchase rested on Holy Diver being in the game, mine rested on either Megadeth song (Symphony of Destruction or Hangar 18) being in there.

No sale.

This pretty much turned from Guitar Hero: Smash Hits to Guitar Hero: Random Songs from Past Games. I can understand that not every good song can be in it (there's nearly 200 songs to pick from), but there were more than a few good songs that screamed "4-player band" that didn't make it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were holding some of the songs out for another GH:Smash Hits sometime in the future.

Is this a DLC or a full release? Given the number of tracks I assume a retail pack but will it be stand alone or an expansion? I don't have GHWT but would love to get this and play.

Of course there are going to be major disappointments for everybody when it comes to picking the best songs out of their past catalog. For every person excited to have Free Bird in, there's going to be a person who'd rather have Hangar 18.

So if you're disappointed in the track listing, don't buy it. But don't act like Neversoft purposely left out your favorite songs to spite you. There are just as many people excited about this list as there are people who are upset over it. And guess what? It's Guitar Hero brand, which means it will sell great anyway.

As for my personal disappointments, I really would have loved to see Crossroads, Texas Flood, Ziggy Stardust, War Pigs, Institutionalized, The Seeker, My Name is Jonas, Radar Love (only if they swapped out the White Lion version for the vastly superior Golden Earring original) and some others. Overall though, I think they got a good blend of everything. I'm just kind of curious why there are so few songs from GHIII.

I agree completely.

However, Neversoft didn't develop this. Beenox is developing Smash Hits based off of Neversoft's Guitar Hero Metallica engine.

It's not that bad, but it's certainly not worth MSRP. I'd pay $20 for it, mainly for Killer Queen, Godzilla, and Free Bird.
