shouldn't the pre-order bonus for a "metal" game be... you know... music? Like a soundtrack?

That makes alot of sense, honestly...

Ehh... EA might also put out a collector's edition, as well. That's where the soundtrack will be. And the Ultra-Super-Deluxe-Mambo-Combo Edition will also come with an amp and electric guitar!

I was thinking more along the lines of a belt buckle.

I was already considering ti anyways, the only thing that would have stopped me would have been maybe the length of the game, but I am a huge fan of Tenacious D so yeah this really is icing on the cake and seals the deal for me.

Everyone keeps hating on Gamestop but yet companies keep giving them pre order stuff.....

I find it unlikely that they are given these promotions for free. Either GS is paying of their own pocket, or they are willing to offer more in-store product placement (advertisement, banners, shelf space, etc), companies will most likely give in since, well, GS is by far the biggest Video Game retailer out there.

Also, not one individual company will stop supporting GS unless everyone does so at the same time.

I don't think they're giving Gamestop free bonus content to express their appreciation for GS reselling all their products used. Large amounts of money are changing hands.

Also, replace "but yet" with "because."

Ya what is with getting extra in-game stuff from pre-ordering from gamestop? I refuse to buy anything there, so I guess I don't deserve these "perks" even though I'm spending $60 on a game. So lame...

Look at it this way, if you buy the game at Gamestop you'll be paying tax on it, about $5.25 (I'm assuming you will use Amazon with free shipping and no tax). This item they're offering will most likely be offered as premium DLC once the game is released, you may just have to wait a bit. How much will it cost??? I don't know, but it shouldn't be more than $5.25.

Yes, but what about the extra-special exclusive Stalker Edition that comes with a lock of Jack Black's hair. The sooner you pre-order the more likely it is that the hair will come from his head.....

Is that enough Jack Black for you?

Jack Black is the one thing about this game that keeps me from getting overly excited about it.

Needless to say, I definitely won't be preordering from Gamestop.

I feel the same way. Dude is just way too Jack Black for my tastes.

That said, he was slightly tolerable in High Fidelity.

The only role Jack Black has played that didn't make me wish I was dead was Jeepers Creepers in the "Jeepers Creepers: Semi-Star" segment of Mr. Show with Bob and David.

I like Tenacious D but they aren't anything close to metal, not even in a satirical way (overall).

They probably will probably have a bunch of 100pt downloads for all sorts of guitars anyway.

This is the kind of stupid thing that makes me want to break by "no Gamstop" oath and preorder... However, I was hoping for a Super-Deluxe-Special-Edition-Exclusive-Can't-Get-It-Anywhere-Else-Totally-Expensive Amazon Edition of this game... Maybe it could come with a vibrating guitar axe? /s

Technically, anyone who plays an instrument is a musician. Also, Jack Black can play guitar very well.

There are no Gamespots in the UK so WTF are they going to offer us over here?

Also, anyone who doesn't enjoy listening to The D clearly has mental problems.

How about some love for KG instead of everything being about JB? KG was always the musical talent in the duo, though he looks like a stay-at-home soccer dad.
