Fallout 3 'Broken Steel' DLC no longer broken for PC users, back online
Those who purchased Fallout 3's latest DLC, Broken Steel, with the intention of actually using it with the Games For Windows version of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic role-playing game, can now do so. As we reported yesterday, purchasers found themselves unable to even install the add-on because of what we now know to be a GFWL digital rights management-related issue.
We are unable to confirm reports from the field that Liberty Prime has succumbed to DRM issues and is now targeting friendlies it believes to have illegally downloaded MP3s.

Hey it's still broken on PS3... what's the deal??
Taco_Hell @ May 7th 2009 4:24PM
Maybe cause none of the DLC is for PS3? Or are you being satirical? Cause if you are....bravo.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 7th 2009 4:20PM
Now time to fix the 360 version so my Broken Steel achievements show up >:(

Just read that if you delete only your profile (and not the items) make sure you choose that option, that you can recover and be able to unlock them correctly. They may fix this later in which you can do that separately but the server for Xbox LIVE can't tell. I found this on Bethesda's website as a suggestion! =]

so how is the dlc as a whole? worth it?
Cosmo @ May 7th 2009 4:47PM
DRM hurts PC gaming, not cool. >:(

BOUT TIME. :D
PsionicMonkey @ May 7th 2009 5:12PM
Well, this is inordinately retarded. I can't install it because of the original error that borked it in the first place. Cryptographic error of somesuch nature.
And the page for the DLC is horked, too. Lovely.
LaughingTarget @ May 7th 2009 5:14PM
Try deleting the first download and try again.
PsionicMonkey @ May 7th 2009 7:39PM
Believe me, that was the first thing I tried to do (since I remembered some people had had success with that). Either I'm doing it wrong or I've lost my marbles. It's also saying it never existed as something in my download queue, despite taking my 800 points and running giggling into the evening.
I'll try again when I get home from work, and just hope it was the servers being mauled.

G4WL is basically the same concept as Steam. Why mess around with DRM and do what Steam does? They don't have these issues.

that's what i was wondering...
Ihavepants @ May 7th 2009 8:41PM
Exactly, Steam even has full support for DLC now. I refuse to purchase anything through GFWL with fun money...

Sweet mother of god, I want to play this and Pitt! Damn RROD! Plus side is it may be fixed by the time the retail pack is out.

UHH...
YOU ARE STUPID AND AN IDIOT...
Mass Effect was Superb.
KOTOR was Superb.
Jade Empire was Magnificent.
Never touch a computer again, as your punishment for such lies.
As for Bethesda, I have no opinion on them.

Fail.
Foreign E S @ May 7th 2009 6:31PM
Screw Bethesda! They can't even get a simple downloadable file right. A boring and dull RPG, now has some more boring and dull DLC to go along with it. Besthesda is worse than BioWare when it comes to making RPGs. Both developers should just give it up already.
The Baron @ May 7th 2009 6:53PM
No, they just need to focus on their strengths a bit more. Both BioWare and Bethesda have made excellent RPGs in the past. I didn't care for Fallout 3 but I could see past the flaws of Mass Effect.
ApolloIV @ May 7th 2009 7:24PM
And yet I get the feeling you are about to boot up your copy of Persona 3 and listen to some Girugamesh.

@The Baron
It doesn't matter. They still make shit RPGs (Bethesda and BioWare).
@ ApolloIV
What the hell are you talking about?!

Yea, it's not completely fixed. I've been trying to install it all day and keep getting an error message.
