This is exciting to me because afaik, this is the first time MGS games have appeared on any retro digital distribution system. Often, the publishers who end up on gametap also end up on Steam and Good Old Games.

gametap needs to BRING BACK THE PLAYER.

playing games in a browser and NOT FULL SCREEN is not a good time.

GameTap needs to start working again, I mean, I haven't been able to play one game since they made it all in browser.

Yeah, it has been a really terrible transition, and the browser plugin is so much worse than what they previously had.

I might be interested if they had gotten around to adding 64-bit support, but it's still not there. :(

i actually quite like Rise of Legends. It's a pretty good game and not all dark and gloomy like Starcraft.

though im probably in the minority here, seeing as a lot of people like that kind of theme like diablo players.

They made it all in-browser? Glad I cancelled...buggy ass service anyway and the game selection wasn't that great.

And Microsoft hasn't added all their games to Games for Windows Live... why? They're missing a great chance to give people an excuse to actually use the platform.

Age of Empires 2 might just be my favourite RTS ever made, I still play networked games of it with my friends at college and it's got to be at least 9 years old now!

I've kind of lost interest in gametap. It used to be an awesome service for gaming on the run... now its gotten so stripped down, and the regional restrictions are getting in the way of anything fun.

It wouldn't even let my play Daikatana!

PS/ A link to gametap might have been useful... these internal joystiq links are pretty useless and unintuitive, but if you insist on using them (despite the tags at the bottom of the post) you could at least add some real ones too.

I've complained about this before as well. It was back about the upcoming Batman game and the stuff the preorder came with. They wrote a whole article up about it but NEVER linked to the actual offer. This is the same type of thing. I bet it is some BS directive from AOL to have as many self-referential links to keep people trapped on the site. It seems to be typical of the way AOL runs sites, and total indicative of their corporate mindset.
