But Mario can throw fireballs out of his hands! Now that's hardcore. :D

Although I understand what you're saying those overalls are no match for Samus' suit. Well, at least they offer better protection than Kratos' loincloth.

Unless its Kratos...

They said in-house. Not first party. There is a difference.
Let's see if the fanboys can suss it out.

I absolutely hate how nintendo sold itself out...the only reason I'm keeping my Wii is because my zelda fanboy side wont let me sell it, but hell, the Gamecube is 10x the system the Wii is, and thats sayin something. Here's hoping E3 will prove me wrong...

I'm not down with this "new math" all the kids are talking about these days, but how exactly can the Game Cube be 10x the system the Wii is, when the Wii is 2 Game Cubes duct taped together? Wouldn't that actually make the Wii 20x Game Cube?

Also, sticky. Let's not forget sticky.

nah tuna those two facts contradict each other.

- Gamecube being 10x the system the Wii is
- Wii being 2 Gamecubes taped together

You'll end up hurting your head if you keep thinking about it, so don't.

If anything, last generation was the one where they sold out. They apparently knew from the beginning that GameCube wouldn't fly, so they just pushed the whole thing on franchise value, practically solely.

Despite the fact that they also made the best game of all time in the process

Wii is the face of the *real* Nintendo, not a new Nintendo.

That's the thing, some of the best games came out of the gamecube BECAUSE they actually concentrated on their franchises, and made awesome games..metroid prime, windwaker, melee, even sunshine was awesome.

I don't see how they could have concentated more on their franchises this generation - they've released Zelda, Mario and Metroid. They've just also expanded.

You shut your goddamn mouth, don't make them think the neutered MP3 was a good direction to take for the series or they'll ruin it even further.

I've never been before because I usually work weekends. I always get to hear the sweet sound of their engines roaring through the sky while they practice though. Come to think of it, I should be hearing them right about now.

I hear they are rad. I have some friends that are going on Sunday, and I don't work the afternoon shift anymore, so I may tag along with them. My brother went last year and he said it was great. I hope we can find a good spot on the harbor where you don't have to pay.

Check it out man. San Diego is the only stop in the states this year, so we are getting a pretty unique experience.

Tickets for a one day pass are 20 beans I think, but I'd think there'd be other decent places to check it out. Shelter or Harbor Island might be a little far off but still decent. Otherwise possibly Tidelands park...

Ok,

So, Sony and Microsoft desperately want to copy everything Nintendo (motion controllers at E3, Mii too avatars), because they want to zone in and take some of that Nintendo gold.
It seems that Nintendo didnt worry or look at what Sony or Microsoft were doing, instead they created something new and took a chance, by having the balls to do it. Sony and Microsoft should try and be leaders and not followers, maybe then they will start showing sales numbers like Nintendo.

You're acting as though innovation and new ideas were only being applied on one side. The Wii does a lot of new things, sure, thats why I love mine. At the same time, I've seen a lot of new and original shit hit the PS3 and 360, too, not to mention the insane amount of features each system has. Sure, Sony and Microsoft are following Nintendo - they're headed to a gold mine, after all. They're still leading on their own fronts, though.

Very true. Microsoft did the whole live thing and that was a huge selling point on the xbox. i know Dream Cast had it but Xbox live paired with Halo 2 is what sold xbox's. sony is big into the latest and greatest media player, partly to push their movies but we all know the Blueray has moved units.

they all do something a little better than the others. Problem is that Nintendo hit the masses and MS and Sony are more nitched out.

This article tells me a few things:
-Guitar Hero should make more franchises, it would be excellent for the industry.

-Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet are miserable failues. The Playstation 3 is inferior. God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 will bomb

-The xbox 360 has a high failure rate and no lineup for 2009.

-Nintendo has created the most hardcore platform this generation.

-HD is overrated

-PC gaming sucks and Valve has created a poor DRM scheme and do not value their customers

-The consoles I have purchased are better than the consoles your mother has purchased for you.

The proof is all in the article. I bet you can't prove me wrong.

I think it's more a measure of the low bar set by the masses and being "good enough" for the money... like fast food... but people get upset about that comparison, especially WRE.
