I just want to note that Capcom is my new favorite game company. They have really made an impact that last few years. And this year, with Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2, plus all the support they've given to their all-ready-released titles, other developers need to be taking some notes.

Glad you're on-board. Capcom got me into gaming 25 years ago with arcade units like Street Fighter and Strider, and has kept me gaming through the years with franchises like Resident Evil, Onimusha, and Devil May Cry. Capcom is, hands down, the best gaming company in the world. Period.

I've been gaming the last 22 years of my life (since I was 4) so I'm very familiar with Capcom's track record. But they've always been one company you can count on to constantly deliver solid games. And I forgot to mention in my post that what they did with the whole re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was HUGE. No other company would've gone through the trouble of bringing back a game that so many of us were foaming at the month for. Especially since EA has a thundergrip on the Marvel rights.

I thought Activision had the Marvel license. They're making 2 billion bucks off the Chinese alone thus they're never losing the Marvel rights anytime soon.

Dude, right there with you. I was playing Mega Man 2 since I remember being alive, and I ate up every MM game after that until it hit PS1. Resident Evil kept it going, though I like the older ones more than the newer ones. Lost Planet was awesome, Bionic Commando Rearmed and Mega Man 9 were the games I've always been waiting for, and Bionic Commando (3D), Dark Void, and Lost Planet 2 all look like they could turn out to be winners.

Ignoring any "questionable DLC" (which I never thought was that big of a deal anyway), they are so awesome.

Let's get a co-op MegaMan 3 complete with online vs mode while we're at it! I'm just dreaming now -_-

I stand corrected. I don't know why I thought it was EA that had the Marvel license. For some reason Rise of the Imperfects popped into my head the exact moment I was typing. Ha. What a travesty that game was.

Capcom probably would be number one, but their constant DLC ripoff initiative pisses me off like few other companies can. The Resident Evil 5 thing was bad, but the Street Fighter IV costume debacle is just pathetic.

Glad to see all the love for Capcom. They've been my #1 game company by a wide margin since the Commando/Gunsmoke days.

The DLC whiners are crazy IMO. Who cares if something is on the disc or not? It's a silly distinction. The question is if it's ok to sell those pieces separate and I have no problem with it. I have the games without the DLC and they are VERY complete experiences (much more so than most other games). When a company gives you 120% who cares if they want another $5 for an add-on piece???

Konami came close for a while during their NES/SNES days, but they seem to have completely dropped off the radar since PS1 came out... very little of interest to me.

It's not so much sequels that are making them money as it is hardcore, HD games- and that fact is great for those of us tired of the Wii casual game boom. At least one company is catering to their true audience, and I'm very glad it's been paying off...

Collector's Editions and DLC have been nice, too. When an amazing game like SFIV of RE5 comes out, I always want to extend the experience and get whatever cool extras I can- and I like that I'm able to give a little extra financial support while getting some awesome bonuses in return.

Keep it up Capcom!

Well they still have Dead Rising 2, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and a few other games that are going to sell. It's just a strong year for Capcom...

Even though I was thoroughly unimpressed with SFIV, RE5 is (so far) my favorite game of 2009.

Keep on keepin on, Capcom!

They should take their time with Marvel VS Capcom 2, do it in HD, add some shit to it and sell it as a regular game disc but at a lower price. That'd get those hardware sales up.
