After rumors last week claimed Krome Studios to be working on an upcoming multiplatform Star Wars game, tentatively titled The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, Entertainment Weekly has since confirmed the game's existence.
In the same aesthetic vein as the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the trailer focuses on a poorly voiced Yoda and -- big surprise! -- the possibility that failure means "all will be lost." Dare we say it? The graphics just aren't that impressive, especially compared with last year's The Force Unleashed. Still, the game's only out (on every system ever) by September 15th. Perhaps it'll catch our eye before then!

Cool, I was hoping they'd make a video game of the new show. It's really quite good, and has lots of spiffy vehicle designs. I'm still praying they hire Larry Holland and have him make an X-wing style game set in the Clone Wars though.

Hey, the ARC 170 isn't that bad :-P And there are many other starfighter designs in the Clone Wars show. Some look just like Y-wing prototypes. And the Jedi starfighters from Episode 3 were pretty sweet!

I enjoyed the other show a lot more too, especially the ARC Troopers, my favorite guys right there. But this one is really good too, it has action and seriousness, but also the light hearted humor that the original trilogy had, although some of the jokes, especially the droids fall flat pretty hard. But I enjoy the focus on the clone troopers too. Also if a starfighter game was made based on the shows time period, the clones would be using V-19s instead of ARC 170s

They have a big oportunity here...
It can be the first Star Wars game with near 1:1 Lightsaber battles if they use MotionPlus for the Wii version.

I was under the impression this was a downloadble game.. The fighting Star Wars game on the Wii was actually fairly decent, if they could take the same combat system and adapt it to more of an action setting like this, it would actually be pretty cool.
But I have little faith that it will be.

The same combat system? All you had to do was flail to win. my nephew spent weeks conquering that game and learning all the combos, and he couldn't beat me once, and all I did was swing it around and hold down a button every now and then. I want to feel like I'm holding a light saber, not a pool noodle.

I really don't like the way Yoda speaks in the new Star Wars movies...
Just watch the old movies... he never spoke like that in every sentence. He sound normal for the most part in the classic films.

It could be argued that as he got older (seeing as how the newer movies are prequels to the older movies), he learned how to talk right... partially. :P

So after living for 800-odd years he couldn't talk normally, yet in the last 30 or so years of his life he did?
Just sayin'...
I say it is down to George Lucas going crazy.

Yoda in the original movies was also a different character--funnier, emotional, more of a Jim Henson character. As a result, at least my son and his friends, Yoda is not nearly as well liked as he was/is for those who were kids for the original movies.

Yay! I've been waiting for a new Star Wars game since I was personally disappointed with the Force Unleashed. The tv show is pretty good, so hopefully this new game can give the Star Wars franchise another boost!

Agreed. The family watched the entire first season of Clone Wars, so the game will most likely be a buy here.

This series sucks and will suck even more as a video game like all LucasArts titles.
Old boy Lucas' glory days of Star Wars ended at the end of making 'The Empire Strikes Back' back in 1980...and he didn't even direct it, the best film in the series! haha...what a loser.

Well, we have a newbie here, a High Definition purist, aparently...
LucasArts is resposible for a lot of classics games, like Grim Fandango, Monkey Islans series, Indiana Jones adventures series, Maniac Mansion, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle... and they are the creators of the SCUMM script language.
So, please, shut up...

Lest we forget, last generation they were responsible for Gladius and published such gems as Mercenaries, Emperor's Tomb, Jedi Knight II, and the underrated Wrath Unleashed. Dare I say it, Pod Racer on N64 was really, really, really fun too.
For a studio funded exclusively by sales of Star Wars kitsch, they aren't half bad (or, I guess... They are *only* half bad).

Amen brother. I've been saying the same thing. The only good star wars movies were the ones the Lucas didnt direct. Irvin Kershner said that he even had to re-write most of the script in production cause it was so cheezy.

Dear Goerge Lucas:
Unlike most people, I did not hate the Star Wars prequels with the intensity of a 1000 suns. But could you PLEASE stop dealing in prequels? Do a following, or a sidestory. All you are doing it turning any continuity left into a murkier, stagnant pool every time you splash into it with new ideas. Even the Clone Wars are inconsistent with the rest of the prequels. Stop living in the damn past, we don't care how Chewbacca got his Bandolier!
That said, it looks like a mid to low game.

I have to agree.. But I think the Clone Wars is a great point to revisit and there's a lot of different things they can do with it. So far the best episodes have been the ones that focus on less important characters such as Aayla Secura, the Clones themselves or even Ahsoka. I don't think we needed such a heavy emphesis on Anakin and Obi-wan.

All the focus on the pointless minutiae is just mixing everything up, making the universe into a less mysterious and much smaller place, and mostly sucking.
Its a big freaking universe... go somewhere else and do something else man!!

Star Wars + Shark = Jumped
Now official.
I remember a time when I owned (or craved to own) every starwars thing ever released. Upon reading this i realised that I finally have just totally lost interest. I went from the love phase to the annoyed phase... but now its just meh..
Haven't watched the Clone Wars movie, or the latest series.. and i can't even be bothered to try and find it for free on the web... who would have expected.

Well, then it is to your loss that you haven't watched the series.
But I'm going to say something about current star wars. It isn't aimed for us adults that grew up with the original trilogy. It's for our kids now.
Also, the game I truly want is Republic Commando 2. Most of us on here can get behind that one.

I agree, Jcarpio. I don't think the movies were ever really aimed at adults, but the difference is that the original was something some adults, at least, could enjoy.
My son and his friends are still very much fans of Star Wars. especially the clone troopers. My son is thoroughly enjoying the Republic Commando novels, even though he's in the third grade. And these novels are good for adults, too.
Because I'm trying to do things with, like Star Wars miniatures, I find myself enjoying Star Wars in a much different way than I did as a kid. It's now a very rich fictional universe (although some obsess far, far too much about continuity).
