TNT has been teasing the "world premiere" of Modern Warfare 2 on May 24th during the Eastern Conference. It looks like the footage might be culled solely from cutscenes, but the clip seems to be promising us some snowmobile vehicle action, underwater levels, and a shellfire sequence that hearkens back to the AC-130 gunship level in the first game.
Check out the video above, and if you're interested in Modern Warfare 2, or the NBA, then tune in during the Eastern Conference finals in two weeks. That Siberian setting is looking particularly cool at the start of the summer.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in! Now, back to your regular TNT viewing.]

Please no. The gunship level in COD4 was quite possibly the most boring part of any video game I have ever played.

I have to disagree... while it wasn't complex gameplay at all, it was eerily just like the video it was based on.

Oh comon. Who in their right mind didn't glee in delight when the tiny blinking dots flew halfway across the screen from that nuke you just released from orbit. It's not fair, but it's the only way to be sure.

the levels were different and a great change of pace. it felt like you were playing god and could kill those tiny ants at your very whim. i think ppl who have much more sophisticated taste understand what they were achieving in those levels, adrenaline junkies probably hated that level as well as the nuclear fallout level.

I agree with most everyone, you are out of your mind. Flying that gunship is one of the coolest levels of all time. I've never had more fun than firing that big gun.
CoD4 was great not because it was the perfect FPS, but because there was so much variety and interesting story telling. Some levels were pretty basic, but the sniper level, the AC130 level, and the nuke level were completely original.

no as in I don't want. CoD was a good game, but not as great as everybody made it. Everybody mainly consists of casual gamers who buy like 1 or 2 games a year, and say their the best things ever. Now MW2 is going to make everybody scream like a schoolgirl. Idk, I never jumped on the CoD4 bandwagon. The best one and still is CoD1.

I have to agree with Dustin. COD4 was good, but not the best FPS ever, as many people call it. I'll stick to KZ2 for now.
MW2 will probably be the same as COD4, so yeah... no.

But seriously, what? Since when do casual gamers only buy one or two games a year? And what's casual about MW? All the people I played with were pretty serious about their gaming.

Sorry everyone, my side is with Dustin. The game is great yes, but in the face of Team Fortress 2 and CS:S, i can't enjoy the online multiplayer, and the single-player game while excellent was still short. I understand the console fanboys being in fits about this game compare to other console FPS games, but compared to other PC FPS offerings, it's good but not great. Heres hoping the sequel is a good as we all hope it will be.

Oh please. CoD4 is quite popular on PC as well. I'm tired of PC enthusiasts acting like there some huge difference between PC and console shooters. In fact, most shooters come out on both platforms anyway so FPS fans on both platforms are playing the same games for the most part. I mean, if you're a fan of KB/M, that's cool, but don't pretend the games themselves are that different because they are not. And, yes, I play FPS on PC as well as console. Of course, there's been shit recently on PC. At least consoles delivered KZ2 recently.

yeah all that stuff looked great, too bad the only thing the player actual did in it was the snowmobile. Graphics dont look like theyve improved at all, disappointing. I know I will get downvoted but I dont care, im not being a dick about it or anything I just dont care for CoD anymore, it used to be one of my favorites, but then I just got so sick and tired of the multiplayer, and I realized I never really had fun with it. So go ahead vote away, i know you're dieing too

I thought that embedded video looked pretty crappy as well. However, I just saw it in HD on TNT (F-Big Baby) and it looked amazing.

I'm sure HD made it look better but will it play any better? Before I sold it i played it SP and MP to see if i should and i couldnt remember why i enjoyed it. It felt so bland and boring in SP, especially on veteran with it's infinite enemy chokepoints, and multiplayer seemed to be more about better connection and getting the jump on people, some of it was just BS too, like not hitting a guy with the knife less than a ft behind him but people lunge at me from quite a distance? I also didnt find any of the SP "epic" moments entertaining, I was only confused by the nuke i didnt feel anything. I knew nothing about my dead squadmates, and I didnt feel like I was there because instead of a nameless soldier I was given the identity of Paul Jackson who I had never seen or heard, and cared nothing for his death. Even Cpt Price's flashback, playing as a character whose face and voice i knew, didnt speak when I played. I still think ill buy or rent this if only to try, but i forsee nothing but disappointment

It's ok, it's not for everyone.
Seriously though, I thought it was pretty great the first few times around, I played with friends on MP a lot for a while, and I played it long enough to finish it on Veteran.
But I haven't really gone back to play it much since then. A lot of the gameplay seems to work best when it's new to you. Once you have everything figured out and know who's going to pop up where, it takes away a lot of the intensity that's an integral part of CoD's core.
I think most people are just ready for a new experience.

I was just commenting specifically on the comment you made about the graphics looking disappointing. I thought they looked pretty meh until I saw it as a direct feed on TNT.
I think it just comes down to the fact that this isn't a game/franchise that you like. I'm kind of the same way with Assassins Creed, Rainbow Six Vegas, Prince Of Persia and Grand Theft Auto 4. Those are all really great games that most people love to bits but I didn't really like them. I don't even play all that multiplayer games but really enjoyed the Modern Warfare campaign.
At the end of the day it's one of those games that rubs you the wrong way. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I just realized 3/4 games I mentioned are from Ubisoft. Weird considering Ultimate Ninja Storm is one of my favorite fighting games.

no i really like the franchise i owned and played everyone, but the more i play the less I like i. I did enjoy the SP, i just really dont care for the named but faceless voiceless main character if character is actually applicable, and thus the "immersive" experiences did nothing for me. The thing is i really want to enjoy this game, and i probably will enjoy the SP at least the first time but i dont see how i could ever enjoy the MP again

I agree with you Dark Wayne, I only played the CoD4 single player once through, because I thought it was so bland and uninteresting. Time has moved forward except at Infinity Ward where enemies infinitely respawn until you cross the magic line. Multiplayer was fun, but not as fun as Bad Company with all the vehicles and classes.
