TNT has been teasing the "world premiere" of Modern Warfare 2 on May 24th during the Eastern Conference. It looks like the footage might be culled solely from cutscenes, but the clip seems to be promising us some snowmobile vehicle action, underwater levels, and a shellfire sequence that hearkens back to the AC-130 gunship level in the first game.
Check out the video above, and if you're interested in Modern Warfare 2, or the NBA, then tune in during the Eastern Conference finals in two weeks. That Siberian setting is looking particularly cool at the start of the summer.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in! Now, back to your regular TNT viewing.]

One thing that I notice is people complaining about the concepts in the game being the same.
I think what maybe people fail to realize is that often war is essentially always the same. Even with weapons advancing and environments changing, much of the same tactics still apply.
Because CoD has always been about realistic warfare, it doesn't seem unreasonable that you might see the same things again, such as having to retreat across the area or have to hold off the enemy until reinforcements arrive. That's just how war is, whether we're talking war today, war in WWII, or even war back in medieval times. The same tactics will be seen again and again, because that's just how real war is. History repeats itself.

Look at history.
Napoleon tried to march his armies across Russia to invade Moscow, and he failed because the majority of his troops didn't survive the long trip across the harsh terrain of Russia before he decided to turn back.
Hitler tried to march his armies across Russia to invade Moscow, and he failed because hte majority of his troops didn't survive the long trip across the harsh terrain of Russia before he decided to turn back.
In war, history literally tends to repeat itself. Even when you're talking time differences of years, decades, or centuries, the essential backbone of war never changes. The weaponry may advance, sure, which may lead to ways to kill more people with less effort, but the backbone is still there.

I'm goin' way back and agreeing with Dustin, too. I'm not a huge FPS nut, but I enjoy 'em, so I grabbed CoD4 when it hit $30 bucks and, while it was good, it wasn't as groundbreaking as it was made out to be as say Goldeneye 007, HALO: Combat Evolved or BioShock.
MW2 will probably be more like Call of Duty 4.5, but if its anywhere as good as the first, I'll definitely pick it up... when it hits the bargain bin, again.

Please could you all stop being ships !!!
There is absolutly nothing special in that teaser... Games like Natman Dark Asymum or Lost Planet 2 are FAR more impressive.
And I agree COD 4 was Higly overrated !!!
Reminds me of the GTA 4 conspiracy.

YAWN! maybe if the game engine had changed since the first COD it would be interesting, but it hasnt. the COD games are dull and simple, ooh stand there and kill a literal WAVE after WAVE of enemies..but walk 5 feet to the left to that checkpoint marker and hey! they all vanish!

I don't think that's a gunship level- it says satellite- I think that's how they'll jump you into character like they did in cod4

Eastern Conference Finals, so you mean I get to watch King James and MW2. Sweet.
Then the following week is E3!
You know, I don't doubt that this game could be the best selling of all time. CoD4 was nearly perfect...nearly. Looking at IF to raise the bar again, WaW was just CoD4 in disguise.

Infinity Ward Call of Duty games don't have cutscenes, the whole story is told through your point of view like in Half-Life 2. They just have a tool in the engine to use a free-roam camera while the scripted events go on to use for the commercials and trailers since it would be boring to see a trailer of the gameplay (for most people). Maybe everyone has forgotten how a real COD game does its storytelling after the waters have been yet again tainted by Treyarch's efforts.

Strangely enough I liked CoD:WaW better than CoD4:MW. The story in MW was pretty terrible, at least WaW is based on something real than an imaginary war in Durka-durkastan.

I can't believe what im reading, as for the guys saying COD4 wasn't the best FPS ever..#1 you probably sucked ass at the game and now you say you didn't think it was that good anyway like a true poor sport, or #2 you never actually played it..because not only was COD4 the best FPS i ever played ,and i played all of them BTW...but it set a new standard for new shooters to come..im sorry KZ2 threw a nice punch, but it didn't faze COD4, the game was just good.not great..and there is no..i repeat NO! PC shooter that is better than COD4 either..and im not talking graphics dorks, i mean gameplay

I've been expecting underwater gameplay because when you could glitch out of one of the maps in CoD:WaW (Downfall i think), there was this section of water underground that the had created a swimming animation and screen movement also for first person. It may have been in WaW but that game uses the Cod4 engine.
