With a game name like Fuel you'd expect... Oh I don't know... METALLICA!?!
Get rid of the gay out boy. This is supposed to look griddy and hardcore not gay and easy going.

And thank you Bouillestfu, for being a shining example of why no one likes Metallica fans.

Or how about post-grunge band Fuel? Covering Metallica's "Fuel"? ...hate fall out boy...

Well, Fall Out Boy is more mainstream. Anyone noticed how the chopper looks like it's dropping a Warthog in the article pic?

I don't know man. It looks like too many ideas being spread thin. I know the vid was low res but even then the graphics looked PS2 What a horrible song they picked out to help sell their game.

Surprised it took as many posts for somebody to mention the atrocious emo rock. They've used this song in multiple trailers for Fuel now. Time to give it a rest, Codemasters.
To be honest, the only trailer for the game that evolved into this one, Grand Raid Offroad, had a much better but still amazingly horrible song attached to it. Google it.

It kind of does, especially with the choppers bringing in the cars. I love Dirt and Grid but Codemasters isn't actually creating this game, just publishing it. It's being made by a studio thats NEVER done a racing game and they're latest project was Wall E. So yeah, I have my doubts....

Never been a fan of Codemasters...
Guess it won't change with this one.

Hmm, the driving seems a little bit floaty, doesn't it ?

I hope the free-roam is good. Seems like so many of these games restrict you to the tracks.
Free-roam is what made games like ATV Off Road Fury great, imo.

meh. It's not that it looks bad but it's to similar to motorstorm for me to think about buying it. Good for those of you without a PS3 or without Motorstorm.
Whatever that gameshow racing game is with all the explosion triggers looks better to me. Hopefully it's not the same game or I will feel like a huge douche.

I think you're talking about Split Second by Black Rock Studios, who made the excellent Pure. Here's the trailer in HD for anybody that missed it:

Have to agree, this looks to much like a motorstorm clone. Much rather keep my money for Split Second as that looks like a lot more fun.

@Shimrra
Much bigger map; many different vehicle types that are balanced in their own right (the motorcycles in paradise were tacked on crap); a variety of terrains and weather effects; and most importantly NO MAP READING. Jesus that was a colossal mistake in paradise. Fortunately FUEL wont have this problem, its larger in most every other way and looks to be a much more relaxed racing experienced, along the lines of Test Drive Unlimited. So yea, it bares little resemblance to paradise.

Codemasters has yet to disappoint me on a racing game. The shear scope of the environment and the weather effects are going to make for some hellacious races. Day One purchase all the way!

I think it's more similar to Smuggler's Run than Motorstorm, seems people have some short memories.

I thought the same thing - especially the chopper chasing. And any game that looks similar to Smuggler's Run get immediate attention from me.
And some of the reasons people give for not being interested on here really make me chuckle:
"looks too much like Motorstorm" - but wasn't Motorstorm good?
"fictional cars" - i point you in the direction of Gran Turismo.
"the graphics looked PS2" - i'll swap my PS2 for yours right here right now
"that music was horrible" - granted. Game looks quite good though...

I do see your point as those reasons can seem petty, but we are not saying Motorstorm isn't good, we are just not keen on spending cash on a game that seems so similar.
Some people prefer to have real life cars and do not like fake car makes/models so again no sale.
The Graphics in the trailer are low res and not a good example, it does the game no favours if you release a low res trailer to the masses when they expect to see a graphical marvel.
As for the music, yes its terrible, but you can turn that off, so I agree on that point.
I'm not trying to flame, just opinion.

Why is everyone saying this is Motorstorm? Yeah it has the same kind of feel, but it offers way more than Motorstorm did. Don't get me wrong, I have both Motorstorm games and love them, especially Pacific Rift. But all Motorstorm is is racing around a track either trying to win, trying to beat a time, or avoiding elimination. It's not open world, you can't create your own races, the weather doesn't change on the fly. This game definately looks to have taken something from Motorstorm with the art style, but the gameplay is going to be totally different than Motorstorm's.....alot meatier.

Looks boring as hell. Seriously, when I first heard something about this game, kinda "post-apocalyptic" open world racing, it did sound pretty cool. What they really need are actual cars. Weathered, rotten, today's cars. Any racing game, whether hardcore simulation or arcade offroader, needs licensed cars. Still the only thing that keeps me away from playing any of the burnout titles ...

Motorstorm didn't exactly invent the offroad, free-wheeling genre...one that comes to me off the top of my head was Powerslide:
