New Tony Hawk game to be revealed May 15

There was a time when we journalists had to go digging through people's trashcans to get the hot scoop. Now, our news is hand delivered to us by the Twitter feeds of celebrities. This is truly a great era.

Tony Hawk just Tweeted that his latest game would be revealed on the May 15 episode of GameTrailers TV, saying, "I have been harboring the secret long enough." Yeah, another Tony Hawk game is being made. We're so glad he could get that off his chest. Can't imagine the burden.

Speaking of "really well kept secrets", we figure there's a good chance he's talking about Tony Hawk Adrenaline, the possibly Balance Board-based, non-Neversoft title due out this year. ... Now Tony, what's the secret, exactly?

Oh my god! Thank you so much Tony! I really was worried as to whether or not they were working on another Tony Hawk game. I wonder if retirement homes will be available as skating environments now that the Skate series has totally owned you!

This series needs to go back to it roots. I would also welcome an xbla or psn THPS 3 or 4. Keep it simple and fun. No stupid career mode with dildo voice acting from dildos like Bam.

T&C was freekin hard. Not even donkey kong's help made the game any easier.

Don't hate. THPS revolutionized 3D skating. Even though the series has tanked since THUG, that doesn't mean they can't create something great again. Thank FSM they stopped the "new game a year" BS that plagues Madden.

that game was awesome. the series went downhill after that.

..until Tony Hawk Downhill Jam on the Wii came out. As someone who's finished every single console TH game, Downhill Jam on Wii is easily my favourite!

Pro Skater 1-3 was amazing. Once 4 rolled around and I was Iron Man skateboarding at a Kiss concert, the game lost is relevance.

No, THPS 4 wasn't the one with Iron Man and KISS, that was THUG 1. THPS 4 was actually pretty good.

THUG1 is also the best TH ever made.

It will be interesting to see what they bring to the table now that Skate and Skate 2 have done well. Hopefully the competition brings innovation.

Spoiler: It's a first-person shooter set in the Pokemon universe, where Tony must save Rune Glifberg from the evil Team Sk8torz and their Skate Canon, which will blast the world and create a new one for skaters everywhere using the Rune, an artifact that Gilfberg held for years.

And his partner? A wisecracking Aipom. That talks in skater slang. Exclusively.

I'm sure a game with at least half of those elements must already have been made.

I used to love THPS...in middle school. I don't know, each installment just feels like the same game over and over again. Or maybe I've just grown out of my tomboy phase.

gametrailers has been teasing this for the last 2 weeks. Here's a picture for the promotion for the next gttv:

looks like it'll be unveiled "thursday night" as they call it, or 12:30 AM on friday.

apparently this one is really gonna revolutionize the series and the skateboarding genre itself. its also been said that you won't use your hands. all signs point to skateboard peripheral, which i wholly welcome.
