Knuckles broke most of Sonic 2 in half... game was too easy with him. Glide over half the stage...

That said... YAY! S3&K, as it was meant to be played!

True, BUT the Death Egg is harder to beat as Knuckles.

Wait wait wait, so having the three Sonic games WILL allow lock on? Huh, how will that work?

Other than that....Sonic 3 and Knuckles, when they were together, made one AMAZING sonic game. Can't wait.

It's probably just written into the code for the remakes of Sonic 2 and 3, and having Sonic & Knuckles will just unlock the feature in the game. So... $10 for an unlock patch that doubles as a game.

If you have Sonic 2 on your console a menu opens up in Sonic and Knuckles that let's you play that game as Knuckles.

All I wanted was that lock-on feature from the start, is that to much to ask.

I'm more interested in the Shinobi port. I've bought the 3 original Sonic games so many times over the years it's rediculous. They keep re-releasing the old ones because they can't get the new ones right.

Yay for Gunstar Heroes, although I would have liked an HD redraw on the game. Lazy Treasure... They better price these games fairly.

You can get the shinobi port in the Sonic Genesis Collection. It seems redundant to release separate ports of games already compiled in a collection. The online play for a couple of the games is good but these should have at least been treated to HD graphic upgrades to warrant a re-purchase. I think you get more for your money if you buy the Genesis collection for PS3/360.

That will make XBLA the first online platform to get the true S3&K. Cool.

To all the young-uns out there, this was a BIG DEAL back in the 16 bit era.

"With Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 2 XBLA and Sonic 3 XBLA owners will be able to use the classic lock-on feature from the Genesis-era to import Knuckles into each classic adventure. Of course, if patience isn't your best quality, you could just buy Sonic's Genesis Collection now (which doesn't support lock-on)."

Oh, fuck you Sega. Fuck you right in the ear.

Sega keeps re-releasing the same games. People have been screaming for Knuckles Chaotix because the 32x was a disaster and 2% of the population has played it, yet Sega consistently refuses to re-release that. Fuckin asshats.

Knuckles Chaotix wasn't very good, but I'd play it again if it were included in a $30 compilation with 20 - 30 other games.

What I REALLY wish they'd do, however, is make a NEW side-scrolling Sonic game in the vein of the original genesis games. A TRUE sequel, no more of these spin-offs, broken 3D gameplay, gimmicky sword / werewolf / human princess BS!

I just want Sonic the Hedgehog 4, pickup where Sonic & Knuckles left off. Oh, and design levels that are enhanced by, but don't require, 2-4 player online co-op: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.

Sega needs to release the original, 8-bit, Phantasy Star on XBLA.

That is the only title I would willingly fork over 1600 points, for the (minor) gfx upgrades and achievements.

Or better yet, Sega - release the Phantasy Star Collection, here in the US, on the 360 or PS3....

Dude, the original Phantasy Star IS available, it is on the collection. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, it is only $30 and has all 4 old Phantasy Star games. Also, over 40 games total.

You can't unlock it unless you have a second controller, though.

They've ran Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Dig Dug into the ground.

I would truly hope that a patch would come out for the Genesis collection, but who knows. Crazy, you don't "really" want to play Chaotix, another stupid experiment with the Sonic formula. The only reason Gunstar is going on the PS3 is because it is not part of the collection.

On a side note, those who love easy achievements/trophies would like the collection, so freaking easy. The only one anyone should have any trouble with is the one for Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. I got all the trophies in one day. I need to get back to Phantasy Star soon, been a while since I've played it.

I've had a cartridge copy of Phantasy Star since 1989.

To this day, I have still never beat it. The batteries died in the early 90's.

And I just want all the pre-Dreamcast PS's in one nice, neat little package, that would be dirt cheap, and you don't have to have a second controller to unlock (IE - Sonics Genesis Collection), or have to import from Japan.

That's like asking why you'd want to buy a DVD or Bluray of a movie you already own on VHS, or an mp3 of a song you have on cassette tape.

Yes, because a downloaded, digital-only file of a port of a 16-bit, 15 year old game with no changes other than standard features built into the console is an "improvement" and not a "cash grab."

VHS to Blu-Ray being equated to Genesis to Xbox Live Arcade. Only on Joystiq!

What they really need to do is more Shining force, re-release Shining force 3 since it could ever only be played on the Saturn and we saw what happened to that system a SF game which includes all three would be awesome.

@RavenLoard: It's only Shinobi 3 that is in the genesis collection hence genesis collection. There has never been a proper true arcade port of the first Shinobi on consoles until now, (mame excluded).
