Ummmm Bravias with PSN Streaming movies maybe?? or if they start to push out the ones with HDDs built in then they may just up and let people by movies and download them. Then there are the Blu-ray players. Hell if they have a BRAIN in their head they will also use PSN for the New Walkmans that play video. HOPEFULLY they are working on a Music section of PSN and let us pay for music and download it to our MP3 Players. PSP, PS3, etc. Maybe even go the monthly rate model like MS has done with the Zune pass...

@ILuvmyZune...Dude I have a Zune too and love the damn thing....but if Sony(The CREATOR of THE WALKMAN) got their shit together they could EASILY Bring the Walkman back and take on the Zune EASY....Why?? Simple...Walkman has more brand recognition and even more importantly TONS of Music Content through their various Record Labels..... They could EASILY have TONS of Content day ONE on any music service they have and I PRAY they do that with PSN and in a Future version of SingStar allow for said MP3 files from PSN(or anywhere) to be imported and used(like Lips)

Well, maybe if Sony made their own OS. Of course that's quite a long shot. (I'm sure they'd be capable of doing this, whether or not it is the right thing to do is a different matter.)

I love my iPhone but I would definitely shelf it for a dedicated cellphone gaming device. Especially if it has PSP level graphics.

I know a lot people here seem to think that it's fine to just lug around a DS or PSP, but having one do it all device is just much more convenient for me. Plus I can't exactly whip out my DS at meetings >__>

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I'd like an app for IPhone or Palm Pre or whatever that connects to my PSN account. Then I could see who is online, send and receive messages through the PSN to my friends list, and have access to my trophy list.

Maybe an easy RSS reader in the PSN that lets me see my message board bookmarks, so I don't have to jump between a laptop to read the boards and my PSP??

You give him to much credit. He was angry long before we ever knew/said anything about him being gay. I could go 3-4 months without replying to him at all and in his first post back he will say "that holer than thou sony fanboy johnny."

He gets exactly what he wants - attention.

What he's saying is that the PSN could be huge. They could make a lot of money and get more content out there by making the right moves with the PSN.

I think it would be smart to add direct online connection to the movie store on their HD TV sets for those who don't play games. They could make more money after a consumer bought their product. The movies studios will probably sell more movies since their shows will be available to more people and in 1080.

All they would need to do is add memory to their TV's, an internet connections (which many are doing already) and they are off.

And it would be free advertising for the Playstation brand.

Damn +1 for melty3219 and his critical thinking skills.

Melty,

What this actually means is that they want to offer services on the PSN on devices other than ... wait for it ... the Playstation brand. If I had to take a wild guess I would say mobile phones, televisions, computers and you know ... whatever has a HDD and access to the internet. Presumably to ... wait for it ... offer content on devices other than the Playstation brand.

Golly jee I didn't see nuthin bout that ole exbawks tree sitty. Basically, you are a giant terd filled douche sandwich.

Personally, I find PSN to be top notch considering its free. As a owner of both systems, the only one need to have feature that isn't out yet is crossgame voice chat. However I'm sure their working on that.

Moptimus, I was going to be clever and suggest that in this case they could silently admit ol' meltys proposition with a comical grimace of the face. I was going to post a funny har har picture, but came across this instead, and well, just prefer it despite it not making any sense here at all. Enjoy.

They should just add a expansion bay for a 2.5 inch HDD or some kind of a media dock/USB enabled external HDD slot. It would essentially be the same exact thing as an Apple TV except better integrated. However, a wired connection and/or wireless adapter kit would be essential. I agree the best case scenario would be a built in HDD but I see the more uneducated consumers trembling in fear from something like that.

I guess another option would be an Apple TV clone type of device ... We will call it the Sony TV powered by PSN. Yeah!

Kenny Powers

I have parents who are about 60 and they work a TiVo unit just fine. The machine just says Memory is full and it prompts them to delete something and they just keep on recording show after show. HD space info never comes up and it shows the solution the the problem, and it only takes one click then bam!!, they are back in action.

Sony could do it and really shake up things if they did. They could also just use a 4 GB memory stick. Let the consumer upgrade it if they wish and Sony would make more money on the new Memory Stick sale.

So it took tough economic times for Sony to realize this? Does this mean anything new is going to be on the Home time schedule? Mention it now, show it off at E3, beta it around Christmas and release the beta to the masses at Christmas 2010.

A music store would be nice and price drop on media content. Why pay retail prices when there is no packaging.

Sony should have really had their personal poop together on this one when they launched the PS2 HDD what 6 years ago. If they would have done that, the PSP would have launched with the store not what they offered and would not have taken what 3 years to get the service to the unit.

Oh and by "other" not including PSPs and Walkmans are we to assume then that all Sony computer products (laptops & desktops) will have this feature pre installed? Or is Sir Howard looking bigger picture by wanted to include 2.5" drives on future Sony TV's. That would actually mean all of Sony's electronic products would be networked together or not which would leave us asking which Sony product did I download the trailer for MGS5 to?
