You might as well type "I'm a douche" instead of first. Pretty much means the same thing nowadays.

Obie-- Save your energy.

Firsters are like cats. You can yell at them all you want but they will never change their behavior. Just ignore them (or spray them with a water bottle).

@Obie You should change your name to FirstPatrol or something. Every time I see someone pull a FIRST post, you're right there to call them kiddo and tell them how we "don't do that here". Keep up the good work!

Ha! there are 2 factors to my "First" post, and everybody's only seeing the comment part. Look at the posting time of my comment instead(compared to the posting time of the article). I was first before most people even saw this article. I was just overexited about the posting time, sorry.

I think you're the one missing the point.

No one is even remotely interested that you were the first one to post. It's not like this is some amazing event that's going to be remembered for years to come, your post was a waste of bandwidth and time, even despite the fact you tacked on a generic comment on the end.

I've been visiting Internet land for a long time but I still fail to see why people get mad about someone posting FIRST. By replying that it's no big deal you're actually making it a big deal since you bothered to acknowledge it.

Next time try ignoring it and moving on to the second post. Your eRage will thank you for it.

Although the Star Trek movie was awesome, this game doesn't look too appealing. And the concept of Texas Cheat'Em doesn't sound like it'd be very fun. I don't want anyone stealing my hard-stolen chips.

Cheating is bad. It is for cheaters. Microsoft should not condone cheating. Even "em" has feelings and does not deserve to be cheated.

Thank you.

Deathmatch - Assault - Conquest
I know. Lame, right? They put the gametypes in the title.

I think of the "dack" noises the Mars Attacks aliens made when I see that title.

I'm assuming the Star Trek game is mostly online multiplayer-based. Since I've got a feeling that no one is actually going to buy it, what would be the point of me getting it? – I'd have no one to play against, regardless of whether it's any good or not!

Anyone else just think of Asteroids when they look of ST : DAC?

Wolverine set such a nice example for licensed games. I haven't played ST:DAC yet, but if you watch the trailer is mostly footage of the MOVIE and not that game.

First sign it's going to be crap.

I'm very shocked that a new licensed games being only 800 points. I was expected 1200 and perhaps even 1600 for it. I might even get it.
Don't care about Texas Cheat' em though.

Texas Cheat 'Em? Who in hell comes up with these? "ooo, ooo, let's just change one or two rules in THIS game, and sell it for 800 MP! Genius!"
And the Star Trek game just looks like the Battlestar Galactica arcade game with the different ships. Bleh.

Hate to burst your bubble but you don't exactly have more street cred if you go around saying you're a "gamer".

If you want to try an experiment, walk up to a lady and tell her you're a gamer, then after the laughter stops come back here and let me know if you still think being a gamer somehow makes you better than a Star Trek fan.

P.S. Nerds will inherit the earth.

...we're smarter than everyone else.

Playing videogames doesn't automatically make you a nerd, but neither does liking Star Trek. That being said, there is a difference between playing madden with your frat buddies in your dorm room and caring enough about games to post about them on a videogame blog where you get to pick your own cool little avatar and "handle".

Again, doesn't necessarily make you a nerd, but it's perceived as every bit as "nerdy" to post on a videogame blog as it is to watch an episode of Star Trek.

And I say this as someone who couldn't give two sh**s about Star Trek.

"And I say this as someone who couldn't give two sh**s about Star Trek."

Ha, it's funny because I too have never seen a Star Trek film. I hear great things about the current movie however.
