This is something I wanted in the game since City of Villains.

Unfortunately, I don't really care much about this any more. I got so bored of the combat in that game and that's all there is!

Champions is looking to be pretty good from I've seen so far, but I don't think I can really talk all that much about it. :P

Though the new Architect patch seems like it could have been kinda interesting, but I don't remember any of my account info nor do I have my disc anymore.

I just started playing this game again two weeks ago after being out of it for years. They've added so much content and features since I've last played that it feels fresh again.

I was very convinced that I'd be jumping all over Champions Online, but I highly doubt that it's going to provide the same in-depth and enriched experienced provided by the current build of City of Heroes/Villains.

My biggest concern when Villains was introduced was that they were basically cutting their player base in half between the two sides but recently they've added some co-op zones between both sides and now this full blown expansion which emphasizes interactivity between both sides. This is a really good move.

Also, you can download the client for free and even get a free 14 day trial from their main site.

Ah that sounds pretty interesting...

The thing about Champions having less content though, while I understand that will have a huge effect on a lot of players, there is a lot to consider. For example, plenty of Everquest players left EQ to play WoW. Why did they do this? There are probably tons of reasons, such as better graphics, ease of play, other friends getting on it. What it will boil down to though is the gameplay for a lot of people, at least imo.

I, for one, didn't experience everything in CoX. No where close. The main reason is that I just got bored. Now perhaps all of this new content could keep my attention, but I just wasn't feeling the combat system. I hope Champions can keep everything fast paced and fun.

Not knocking CoX at all. I loved the game. I spent a lot more time on WoW, but I enjoyed CoX more, when I was really loving it. So I might have to give the trial a look.

When I left CoH/V, it was because I felt like I did everything. I loved the story the game's arc had, and I had pretty much done all the story arcs blueside between all my alts, and I couldn't finish them redside due to a glut of AVs and Elite Bosses.

That said, this makes me want to re-up... that, and the mission architect, which I at least tried out on the reactivation weekend last week. Good stuff, that. I wonder if anyone played the arc I made at all...

So Dark Wayne, are CoX and Champions Online like real world simulators for you? Like Second Life for the average person?

I got back into CoX a few months ago, and I've found that it really has changed a lot since I played it way back at launch. The mission architect system works pretty well, and they just nerfed some major exploits that were being used to gain levels far more quickly than usual. It really has gotten a lot more depth and fun, if you're into the story they put out there..

And after 4 years I thought I was going to get tired of this game. Damnit, my wallet is thin right now.

@zuburi is my global if anybody wants to team up!

Also, I hope they overhaul the old-ass graphics engine. I love the game, but it needs a graphical upgrade badly.

They should also redo the old costume parts. It's really jarring to see the leap of quality if you pick a piece from launch and mix it with something new, like something from the cyborg booster.

Praetoria!?? So we are going to be battling in the Independant Nation that Peter created in Family Guy? (sp)

I thought the same thing about Family Guy lol.

But anyways, the trailer looks pretty neat. When I update my PC I'll probably start this up before any of the other MMOs.
