...but it was perfectly fine on the DS.

In fact, it's the best damn game on the system. It didn't feel like a handheld version of GTAIII and it's better for it.

Why is that offensive? Mentioning a Chinese name and the word white in the same sentence isnt racist automatically. If it said "If its ain't wongs, its white" then maybe. Or if it "Aint White, its Wong's" maybe. Or "Screw Wong, he aint White" to get really blunt about it.

But as is? It's a pretty clever laundry pun.

CTW wouldnt really work on PSP
they would have to redo the graphics, tweak gameplay, get rid of the minigames(building Sniper Rifle, hot wiring car)
plus, DS deserves their own exclusive GTA game

Alright, so JC, talk about not doing your research before posting... The slogan used by A&F in the article mentions specifically the phrase "Two Wongs can make a White" with a picture of "Wong Brothers Laundry Service". I'd say its pretty obvious this constitutes a reference, not a rip off.

hmm i heard that Chinatown Wars tanked pretty badly on the DS. Maybe they are trying to create some controversy in order to get free press?

It "underperformed" in March, I'm interested to see how it did in April (Maybe I missed that post?). And Mr. Wong's was announced before the game came out, so even if they're trying to create controversy it's not because of the sales figures.

#25 globally. Yes.

1. Maybe we're not playing it because we all completed it a few days after we got it
2. Awesome! More stuff that people who can't get their consoles online get screwed out of

Your online capabilities are not their responsibility. Also it's free, so you aren't really getting "screwed out of" anything.

Totally agree with your first point though. I was hoping GTA on the DS would have a little more replay value.

I completed it (as in the missions) in a couple weeks but I'm still playing it from time to time to complete, well, everything else. (Not trying for gold medals, except where that looks feasible, or anything.) 'Time in single-player' is well over 30 hours now.

It deserves the 'best DS game ever' rating (anybody reading this who hasn't played it, get it now). I really want more... but unless sales pick up in a big way in following months, I guess that's not going to happen. Pretty unfortunate.

As for 'can't get your consoles online' - if you're really desperate, don't they have DS wifi at mickey d's or something? It'll probably work from just outside..

apart from that, yes getting DS online is more of a problem than other consoles; DS is the only reason my router is set to the 'security? what security?' mode, and obviously many people might not want to do that...

But what's the point? You can make way more than 10,000 a day with the drug dealing "minigames." And all you can do with said money is buy weapons and safehouses. Once players have those items, there's no longer any need for more money.

They also used that joke in GTA III if you look at some of the local trucks/stores.

Yup, I was about to write that. Mr. Wong's is near the bridge in Portland, a bit up the street from your first safehouse. Also, GTA III did it before those Abercrombie and Fitch douchebags.

GTA Chinatown Wars is amazing. I love this game. It's way better than the PSP GTAs, and I have those as well.
