New Halo Wars maps revealed by Halo Wars

Of all the places we expected to hear about new Halo Wars maps, we didn't think it would be within the game itself. If you're very, very patient -- seriously, it takes around half an hour -- the information crawl that scrolls across the bottom of the main menu will show the names of three upcoming maps. The crawl also mentions the recently revealed gameplay modes from the upcoming "Strategic" Options DLC. The three maps mentioned are Barrens (1v1), Blood River (1v1) and Memorial Basin (2v2).

We've contacted Microsoft to see if the maps will be part of the upcoming DLC or if they are intended for a separate release. If you're still not convinced, you can check out some shots we snapped of the map names in the gallery below.

Despite all the Xbox 360 controller optimized crap I stopped playing this game because I couldn't stand using the controller. So Microsoft, release it on PC and I'll buy it again. Or don't and I won't play it, it's really up to you.

I stopped playing it because as much as I love Ensemble this was its weakest game and is not for the controls but for the fact the game lacks substance.

They should have added the flood as playable civilization also I was expecting to play as the covenant at some point not to mention the campaign is uninteresting.

The story is completly irrelevant to the Halo universe.

I haven't finish it on Legendary though maybe the ending is better.

Although I had an alright time playing this game (although i've only really just started and don't play RTSs), I really feel that microsoft intentionally tricked fps fans and halo fans alike into buying this game. I know at least half of my friends who bought this thought it was another halo game, such as halo "4".

It seemed like only the people who read about it or researched it more knew it was an RTS. Especially considering the trailers and commercials of it that were released were just the cinematic cgi scenes, which looked great and never showed gameplay.

If you thought Halo Wars was Halo 4, that's not Microsoft's mistake, that's 100% yours.

Don't blame Microsoft because you didn't bother to flip the box over and read the sleeve.

I'm not saying that I thought it was "Halo 4". I'm just saying that they seemed to be pulling on halo fans to make this game a success, not by making a good RTS. It seemed like they were trying to get a lot of preorders using their name instead of using the game's merits, which I think were enough to sell this game.

idk what you guys are talking about! Barrens was the most interesting part of WoW! It had the nicest people, and they all told me to run around with no armor in an instance while saying how only Chuck Norris knows how to fish, such nice people XD lol

How good can anyone get at Halo Wars? Really?

1-Play as the Terrans Erm I mean UNSC.
2-Hold on with crappy units.
3-Build lots of tanks
4-????
5-profit.

The covenant sucks in 1 vs 1 they are only useful in 3 vs 3 but only in the long run and only if you play as Truth or the Brute Chief because as far as I know the Arbiter is annoying in the first 5 minutes of the game and completly useless after that.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Halo fans would know this game was an RTS. I did. If you're really a fan, you'll want all the info you can get, which includes what damn type of game it is! Besides, Halo was originally an RTS.

Well, I'm glad to have new maps available, but new campaign is what I'm really interested in. I love the game and I love its multiplayer, but I prefer multiplayer in the campaign mode. It seems like every single match I get in over live is a warthog rush.

Also, someone hand that kid a duster rag.

All halo fans knew it was RTS! If you didnt, then you shouldnt be buying games if your not going to read the box, and make simple mistakes.

Anyway, someone said that copvenant suck, and i have to say HA! Im a solely covenant player, well i play UNSc every now and again to mix things up, and infact, im one of the top players.
Covenant and super strong in the right hands. They are like teh Scrin, they require a totaly unique play style, not seen in any other RTS before.

@HalokissesBoys. I checked your stats, and your not very good. I would love to 1v1 you, infanct i may record it and put it up on youtube, because i make youtube videos for halowars.
