OK, so, as you'd know if you read our review, there's not a whole lot of future seeing to be done here. But, nomenclature issues aside, there are some beefy new Fable 2 missions in the "See the Future" DLC which, just a reminder, is now available on Xbox Live.
If you're unwilling to part with the 560 MS Points ($7), there's still a chance you could win a free copy. But, as we're talking about Joystiq's 2008 Game of the Year, we think you owe it to Lionhead to pony up the cash. Heck, you owe it to us.

Hey I saw Dark Wayne say that Ludwig's uncle's girlfriend said this DLC was pretty weak :( Then I went and read the review again and it was pretty mehtastic. Big bummer, I thought Knothole Island was great. Suppose I'll likely wait until I want to do some more cheevo hunting in Fable II, and couple that with this.
On a wholly game unrelated, yet DLC related note, I wonder if there will be any more DLC for Scene It coming out...

I admire the work you do Dark Wayne, but if you don't buy the DLC soon, I'll reveal you identity to your villains. How do I know it? I'm Peter Molyneux.
I can see how you might find the DLC weak, if you can't fully comprehend how brilliant it is. It can be troubling finding something that appeals to the commoners. You know, the people who aren't Peter Molyneux.
This is something that I will work on while working on my next project that will likely evolve gaming by leaps and bounds.
On an unrelated note, the picture of my brilliant face keeps appearing and disappearing. I'm curious as to the cause Joystiq. You can tell this website wasn't developed by Lionhead. It's okay though. For giving Fable 2 GOTY, I forgive you.

I thought I answered the question. Unless you're needing to know how to upload an avatar in the first place. In which case, click on your name, click on "Are you robotoid? If so login here", click Edit Picture, click Browse, choose a 64x64 GIF or JPEG, click Upload, enjoy!

I just finished downloading it, but does anyone know if you have to complete the main quest first?

I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty positive you would be able to play without having completed the main quest. I think even dtoid had a pretty nasty review for it, but I'll still definitely be picking it up. Oh and damn you for not being a 9-5 johnny punchclock like me, I'm jealous.

Gah, don't awaken that sleeping dog. The GOTY nonsense and surrounding hubbub had all quieted down for awhile.
"I'm sure the only reason it got game of the year is b/c you can have "sex" with men" - Charming statement there, might I ask what you were insinuating, or why sex is in quotations?

I download it and completed the main quest quickly, it was good though.
But I can't seem to get The Howler achievement.

I would have chosen Fallout 3 as GOTY as well, but I still enjoyed Fable 2 - just not as much.

Is the Knothole Island DLC required?
Not that it bothers me as I have it, but my Sister recently re-bought Fable 2 and as yet hasn't got Knothole Island.

I went to download this via xbox.com and all I could find was See the
Future(Free). Is that the whole DLC? I went ahead and got it and went
on my 360 to try and get it there but it says I already have it.
Guess I got it for free, or I will have to pay for it once it is done
DLing

The free version, like the free Knothole version, is to offer a taster of what the DLC is all about.
The Premium version will allow you to do all the quests and get the achievements etc.

Hmm, i just beat it and it was even more disappointing than Luddy's review suggested. They'd been advertising the whole time as having a big connection with the player character from Fable 1, but SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER you just go to oakvale in the magic snowglobe, and he isn't even mentioned at all, this whole time I was expecting to get the goddamn sword of aeons at the end of this DLC, and then all I get was Fable 3 announcement, and still no answers about what Teresa did with the Spire. She even says how she had plans for it, be we're still completely left in the dark as to what it was. SPOILER ENDS SPOILER ENDS SPOILER ENDS.

I knew it must be really bad for Joystiq to say it's kinda bad. I enjoyed Fable 2 but for "game of the year" it was pretty forgettable experience. I wouldn't even call it "game of the year" for Xbox 360, leave alone overall. I would've given GoW2 Xbox 360 GoTY.

I got the idea from the first few details that arrived about this DLC. And all Teresa says is that she can see many different futures, but not what she's doing with all of them, or what wish she was granted by the spire

I second that statement. Bethesda had all the time and money in the world and still failed to release a Q&A'd,polished and bug-free product. As much as we largely forgave them because the game was quite good and awesome, giving it a GOTY will only encourage them not to improve.

no quite the contrary markez, despite my gripes with it's promises and story, it was still fun, if not painfully short. I did enjoy walking around through a restored Oakvale, that was fun, and the costumes and new items were sweet too, but yeah, disappointing as far as a real fulling conclusion I expected. I suppose it has something to do with that I greatly preferred the setting of Fable 1, particularly the armor designs, so I was disappointed when I didnt get any of the Fable 1 connection i wanted

"Please. I'm sure the only reason it got game of the year is b/c you can have "sex" with men. How is Fallout 3 not? "
Because you can't have sex with men in Fallout 3, obviously.

I beat it in about 1 hour. It's ridiculously short, no wonder its 560 points. If it was 800 I'd be so pissed right now, of course if you count the Achievements it's around 4 hours. But basically it takes an hour or less to beat.

fable 2 as GOTY is wrong IMO.
sir says:
"Bethesda had all the time and money in the world"
um bethesda developed and published the game themselves, something not many developers have ever been able to accomplish.
and u dont think that lionhead and microsoft game studios had all the time and money in the world" duh...
the fallout world is much larger and open than fable so we should have expected more bugs.
for me spending more than 40 hours playing fable 2 is more of a chore...
and spending less than 40 hours playing fallout 3 is not enough...
knothole island DLC is a joke, while fallout 3 DLC continues the story and provides other pertinent information about the game.
there are many more conversation options in fallout 3, even though they only seemed to pay 5 voice actors total.
in fallout 3 i can be a better or worse character than i can be in fable 2.
try blowing up a town in fable 2.
fable 2 combat system was too easy and a joke and became a chore for me.
fallout 3 combat is much more difficult and satisfying for me.
the VATS system is cinematic and people even enjoy me playing the game, while other games are boring to watch.
non-stop radio stations that bring a nostalgic tone to the game add a layer also.
fallout 3 was just a more thought out and better game than fable 2 IMO.
the endings of both games were sub-par IMO.
