Rock Band Country Track Pack coming July 21

But before you go, you should know that the $30 pack of 21 songs includes one of the greatest recordings of all time, Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler." Sure, there are other songs on there, we've even put a list of the first few after the break. But if you boot up "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" before "The Gambler," we're going to cut off Travis Tritt's mullet and feed it to you.
- Alan Jackson -- Good Time
- Brooks & Dunn -- Hillbilly Deluxe
- Dierks Bentley -- Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)
- Dixie Chicks -- Sin Wagon
- Drive-By Truckers -- 3 Dimes Down
- Jason Aldean -- She's Country
- Kenny Chesney -- She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy
- Kenny Rogers -- The Gambler
- Lucinda Williams -- Can't Let Go
- Martina McBride -- This One's For the Girls
- Rascal Flatts -- Me and My Gang
- Shania Twain -- Any Man of Mine
- Steve Earle -- Satellite Radio

Needs Dwight Yoakum. Probably too much to wish for.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ May 12th 2009 1:08PM
Agreed. Where is Hank Sr., Cash, Waylon, Willie,Patsy Cline, and Buck Owens?
Neuromancer @ May 12th 2009 10:57AM
I'm a little confused, what does it mean for it to be standalone? Does that mean I can download any of these?
Robert Maynard @ May 12th 2009 11:18AM
It just means that you can play the tracks off the disc, with a stripped down version of the game included. That's cool because it means people who don't own Rock Band can pick this up for cheaper than a full-price game and play it. And of course, if it's for a next-gen console, you'll also be able to use a code to link it your PSN/XBox account and export the tracks off the disc to be stored on your console as Rock Band DLC, which is all most people use these things for.
Neuromancer @ May 12th 2009 11:46AM
Oh I see, thanks.
UserDoesNotExist @ May 12th 2009 11:04AM
If you're gonna play the Gameboy, you gotta learn to play it right.

Comin from afar, reaching for the stars.
Oh... oops.
greg (peevmyster) @ May 12th 2009 11:05AM
Needs 2 people. Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, those are the best country guitarists.
Icello @ May 12th 2009 12:31PM
Definitely Brad paisley and George Strait. I've never listened to Keith Urban. Not that George Strait is a guitar player much, but you could play the breaks of his band. Hey, I want a pedal steel controller. Maybe there already is one? I don't have Rock Band cause I don have a console. But I'm always tempted whenever I go in to Best Buy.
XBL: Burritoclock @ May 12th 2009 1:35PM
Keith Urban is not country, they can save him for a pop pack...
TSO31693 @ Jul 14th 2009 10:14PM
they actually are coming out with keith urban's "I Told You So" its one of the add ons that you download
lolpilipino @ May 12th 2009 11:07AM
Where's Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts? >_>
Avada Kadavra 9 @ May 12th 2009 11:07AM
seeing that there won't be many post on this i felt it was a good time to ask. How do you contact joystiq with questions and/or comments? What's their email address I can't' find it anywhere!
Justin McElroy @ May 12th 2009 11:14AM
Hey, you can email tips at joystiq dot com, or our email addresses are on the right side of the page.
Avada Kadavra 9 @ May 12th 2009 11:28AM
Thank you I see the "tips" spot.
MrSpaceCowboy @ May 12th 2009 11:12AM
Why couldn't they put any other of Shania Twain's hits in the pack?
That don't impress me much.
uncle jesse @ May 12th 2009 11:50AM
So you're a MrSpaceCowboy...
that don't impress me much!
MrSpaceCowboy @ May 12th 2009 12:09PM
Well played sir. I have been defeated and emasculated.
Man, I feel like a woman.
uncle jesse @ May 12th 2009 1:43PM
Don't worry,
You're still the one
Matt @ May 12th 2009 11:15AM
As a long time fan of Country Music I have to say WTF on a lot of this. Alan Jackson has a least 10 songs I would put before good time "Chattahoochee" would make a great rock band song(the orginal studio cut from A lot about livin'). Brooks & Dunn It has to be "Boot Scootin' Boogie". And come on you have Dierks Bentley and its not "What was I thinking" FAIL I SAY FAIL
Then again other than that its an ok list but those are major failures in my book and "the Gamber" is a good pickup
NorCalAngler @ May 12th 2009 11:47AM
I agree, what is this mix of random crap?! I can think of plenty of better country songs with good guitar work. It seems this was put together by a bunch of suits that don't listen to country simply going through tracks and deciding "the guitar on this one sounds good."
Robert Maynard @ May 12th 2009 11:20AM
eh.. I'll just wait for The Gambler on its own.
Gemini Ace @ May 12th 2009 11:26AM
The people that buy this need to be put on a list and subsequently sterilized.
XBL: Burritoclock @ May 12th 2009 1:36PM
Run, there is a ghost here!
crashcat2 @ May 12th 2009 11:46AM
I'm not really a country fan, but the two 5-packs they put on DLC had some pretty catchy tunes that were fun to play. If you can get your stick out of the mud this ought to be a worthwhile purchase.

How many people are going to spend $30 just to get The Gambler?
Ghoti @ May 12th 2009 11:58AM
I sure hope they make these other tracks available through DLC in a pack. I have all but 7 of the tracks listed, and if it winds up being just those 7 tracks, buying them as DLC would be much cheaper for me than $30.
XBL: Burritoclock @ May 12th 2009 12:05PM
Best thing to ever happen, in history. x911

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Conway Twitty...
Also, I need some Johnny Cash up ins, promptly.
ScottG13 @ May 12th 2009 12:57PM
Where have I been all day? Oh yeah, that's right. Meetings.
Great variety here. I'd love to see more of this kind of thing. I don't know how this stuff sells, but it spreads the audience around better than the metal fest we endured a few months ago.
Sal Moriarty @ May 12th 2009 1:07PM
I hate to do a little shameless self-promotion, but stop by and check out www.gamblertuesday.com
Every Tuesday, you can get your dose of The Gambler performed by various artists.
With that said, just to get my hands on The Gambler makes me want to go out and pick up Rock Band 2.
XBL: Burritoclock @ May 12th 2009 2:37PM
Wow, I don't think a better website exist.
I am dead serious that is awesome!
Steve @ May 12th 2009 1:29PM
Is there a complete song listing? The top shows only like 12 of the 21. Or is it not released yet? Thanks!
FOXHOUND @ May 12th 2009 2:32PM
Ah, a country pack. Nice. :] I look forward to it (and the rest of the listing).
Still awaiting a Motown pack though.
Haohmaru @ May 12th 2009 2:45PM
Will definitely pick this up just for "The Gambler.." Yeah, this coming from a big metalhead like me. It's such a great song from the days when mainstream country music was still good.
I just can't get into the crap that seems to pass for it these days. All of these new songs I hear on the rare occasion I brave the local country station sound like dime-a-dozen pop songs about how "country" the singer is. The genre is in dire need of a revival. Will there ever be another Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson or, yes, Kenny Rogers?
Blkant @ May 12th 2009 3:48PM
Doesn't kenny rogers make chicken?
Lootskin @ May 12th 2009 4:45PM
Oh YES! Alan Jackson! Haha I can't believe it.
KFelon @ May 12th 2009 7:38PM
I want The Gambler, but I'm not buying this pack for one $2 song.
I sure as hell hope these are available individually because I'm not a country music fan.
BS @ May 12th 2009 10:56PM
I am not the biggest country fan but I still can't believe they have not put together a Kenny Chesney pack. Summertime, Beer in Mexico, When the Sun Goes Down, I Go Back. It would sell really well. So they finally get a Kenny Chesney song and it is from his older period before he became huge. Lame
