'Call of Duty 7' revealed by Treyarch animator profile
Duty is a hell of a thing. It's always calling you to it, and it would appear that Activision is already in production of the Treyarch follow-up to Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2, as is the company's pattern. And that's where David Kim's LinkedIn profile comes into play (check out his personal site here), which mentions that he's currently working as senior animator on Call of Duty 7.
With Modern Warfare 2 expected to deploy this holiday season, though, we likely won't hear anything substantial on this new Call of Duty for some time. But, considering how Activision likes to pump out the sequels to its key franchises, it's probably a safe bet to expect Call of Duty 7 sometime in 2010. We actually knew that before this listing popped up.

Should it be: Modern Warfare 2, Part 2?
knightsray @ May 13th 2009 2:46PM
no...some people are saying it might be in Vietnam. I really don't know how that would be cause it'd still be close to modern warfare with a few of the same guns i think.
Treyarch should just make a zombie game based off WaW zombie mode. that'd be the great...they could make the campaign a lil l4d-ish but with perks an multiple guns an all that but the same type of running through locales like trying to get back to america or some crap lol btw..i thought WaW was a good game..all around
Paul Z @ May 13th 2009 11:46AM
At least each game has a 2 year production time.
JXCgunrunna @ May 13th 2009 12:30PM
So did W@W.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that we're shocked by this revelation. We truly did not see this coming at all.
Opprobrius Maximus @ May 13th 2009 4:59PM
At least that cancerous company named Treyarch isn't developing it - OH WAIT.

I think they'll call it the Xbox 9001 for instant free meme advertising
Reboot @ May 13th 2009 1:01PM
@Ignatius: "Don't forget Final Fantasy CDXLV"
That would require Square-Enix to have a production schedule they actually stick to, instead of bumping out their games by years at a time. In twenty years, we'll be lucky to be up to Final Fantasy XV at this point ;)
Trulz @ May 13th 2009 11:52AM
Wait...Treyarch follow up as in they're making Modern Warfare 3, or just the next ACTUAL COD? Cause I thought they were different now.
Matt @ May 13th 2009 12:05PM
No, I'm sure that's one of the reasons for the Call of Duty drop from the IW developed games. I'm sure Treyarch will continue with the Call of Duty franchise while Infinity Ward continues with the Modern Warfare franchise. I think this a good move by Activision to better separate the developers and the franchises.
tenor77 @ May 13th 2009 12:52PM
Yes it is a smart move because Treyarch was smearing IW's good name.
Only Treyarch could make a tank level that bad.
Troy Powers (PSN: TroyPowers) @ May 13th 2009 1:01PM
So confusing. Are they going back to the numbered titles? The last one to be numbered was CoD4:MW. So, if the next one is 7, that must make W@W 5, and MW2 6. Makes sense, but it's still confusing. Hopefully this is just a working title until they decide officially on Call of Duty: Die, Nazi Scum.
The Baron @ May 13th 2009 1:43PM
On the other hand, the gameplay of the two 'franchises' and core concepts are likely going to remain the same.
Anticrawl @ May 13th 2009 2:16PM
@tenor77
Aww you poor sheep, quit bahhing so loud and just keep following the rest of the herd.
Treyarch is a first rate developer, anyone who can pump out a new game in 6 months that is of the same quality as the other developer doing the exact same thing who takes 3 and a half years is truly a great developer. I'd like to see you work on the level Treyarch is forced too only to be mocked and overshadowed by the lazy self absorbed IW.
JXCgunrunna @ May 13th 2009 4:43PM
Anticrawl
W@W had a two year development period, same as CoD4. so unless you are trying to compare CoD3 to CoD2, you are wrong.
LegendaryRedass @ May 13th 2009 11:52AM
The only CoD I've played is 4. I think it's better than halo 3. But MW2 I pushing it for me. Do we really need 7? So much for ingenuity.
uncle jesse @ May 13th 2009 11:57AM
The only one you've played was CoD4 and you thought it was better than Halo 3. But you don't want to play a sequal to the game that you liked and thought was better than one of the top games on the 360 because you think it's 'pushing it'?
I don't understand you.
LegendaryRedass @ May 13th 2009 7:34PM
No you didn't understand me, I very much want MW2. I'm very happy about it, in fact. But how many iterations of WWII games can there be? Or is Treyarch just going to cheese off of more of Infinity Wards hard work? I've played limited amounts of 2 and 5. 2 was good, 5 didn't appeal to me. It just seems like Treyarch is sucking the life out of the series. I just don't want to get bored with CoD. I didn't mean to contradict myself earlier. I just meant that I'll only stick with the MW series, and more WWII games is just reaching. Even if it isn't WWII, then Treyarchs going to kill MW. It is about Price, afterall.
TeDwArD @ May 13th 2009 11:55AM
come on how long are they going to continue milking this dry cow? WW2 is finished no1 needs to have every single bit ironed out of the story. MW 2 FTW nuff said.
@Orex probably thats how its going to end. for the game, in malta every maltese plays this game apart from pro evolution soccer and tekken so treyarch and activision will still get money from us
max stubbs @ May 13th 2009 11:59AM
Who said it was WWII? No-one.
TeDwArD @ May 13th 2009 12:00PM
treyarch have always released WW2, even after COD4 so thats what it is gna be most probably
max stubbs @ May 13th 2009 12:12PM
Said a while ago they were gonna leave the WWII setting.

if that search for captain price thing is actually the title, Captain Price from CoD 4 would be too young for Nam, and Captain Price from WWII would be too old for nam, unless, idk he's like a fucking general or something, but i dont recall the brits having a huge involvement in nam
Iwa @ May 13th 2009 6:02PM
It would be the son of Captain Price from WWII and the father of Captain Price from COD4.

I think they need to release a game very 2 years not every year....its overkill...hell CoD4 still has a STRONG online community and they are talking about the next one??
Cr4sh Dummy @ May 13th 2009 12:42PM
I know, the system is getting redundant.
Psycho300x @ May 13th 2009 2:37PM
Well I guess it could be worse, like with Guitar hero, pumping out 6+ games per year....
Cr4sh Dummy @ May 13th 2009 12:05PM
What the fuck!
If this is a joke, it ain't fucking hilarious!
And what the hell is a "follow up" to MW2? Are they going to ruin Modern Warfare now?
Vidikron @ May 13th 2009 1:07PM
W@W is actually very good. I don't know why people still insist on bashing TreyArch.

Call of Duty 7-dust! The udders are tapped out yet will keep on trying.
B3astofthe3ast @ May 13th 2009 12:09PM
If MW2 isn't a CoD, wouldn't that make this CoD6? Does Treyarch know how to count?
RiccochetJ @ May 13th 2009 12:14PM
Everyone knows that MW2 is the 6th game in the COD franchise whether it puts the number in the title or not. Stop being an idiot.
Mr Khan @ May 13th 2009 12:36PM
by that logic, GTAIV isn't really GTAIV, is it?
