Loose Cannon Studios assembled, shooting to announce titles at E3
Loose Cannon Studios is a new independent development team set up by two Sucker Punch veterans, Dev Madan and Matthew Scott, along with Ricci Rukavina, who previously worked at Universal Interactive Studios and Vivendi. According to the company's website it was founded in 2005 and its employees have worked on such franchises as Sly Cooper, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Jak And Daxter and Uncharted. That's quite a pedigree.Loose Cannon will reveal its first title at E3, which will be based on a new home-grown IP and aim for release on the PS3, 360 and Wii in late summer or early fall. That's really soon, considering they're just now announcing their existence to the world. We're definitely intrigued to see what the company has to show at E3, though the website also promises more announcements in the weeks leading up to the show itself.

Another kid themed game.. I can do without!
Araskaz @ May 13th 2009 7:16PM
Funny, because none of the games that their employees have worked on that are listed are kid games ;)
Araskaz @ May 13th 2009 7:18PM
..to add onto that...
If a game doesn't have guns in it or blood and gore that doesn't make it a kid game. In fact, Jak and Daxter DID have guns in it... and Uncharted had guns AND blood AND cursing. Just because it's a cartoonic type of game doesn't mean it's made for a child.
I bet your one of those guys who says that LittleBigPlanet is a kids game ;P

Don't be so sure. Insomniac, Naughty Dog and Sucker Puncher have made very adult games with Resistance, Uncharted and inFamous and they all came from backgrounds with kiddy games. However seeing as it is multi-plat (especially wii) you are probably right. Going multi plat seems odd as the staff members all come from originally ps exclusive franchises.

that's quite the good resume.

You're getting old if you can still remember the canceled project by microsoft game studios called 'Loose Cannon'.

Sounds cool. Can't wait to hear about it at E3. Also I hope Junction Point Studios (Warren Spector's dev team) finally reveals that game they've been working on for the past two years. The concept art looks amazing, and I've heard so many strange rumors about it. Some even saying that it could be a Mickey Mouse/Steampunk platformer with high ambitions.

Yes, I agree with everyone when they say nice resume and whatnot. It is great to see a new company come forth with more games. More games means more choices for us. More great games means more great experiences to be had with them.Let's hope that whatever they're announcing appears with quality and is of the same calibur as the other titles they're had their respective hands in. Also, let's hope that they take the Wii seriously. I know a PS360 fanboy would rush in and say "Screw the Wii" or something. Whatever. It's nice that a company with such a track record is able to even consider the Wii. Hopefully the title's quality is as good as on the other consoles,
To go a bit offtopic, has anyone ever thought of why Nintendo can't just release a HD console alongside the Wii? I mean, they made a lot of money and have been investing in R&D it seems. They could probably still sell the Wii alongside it if they were to lower development costs for it, defer resources from DS Lite development and whatnot when they decide to drop that system, and then develop a HD console that would offer the power and features along the lines of the PS3 and 360. So they could sell the Wii to their Casual market and then actually compete with their HD console. It makes sense to me, but obviously they haven't taken this route because they're taking other factors into consideration that I clearly do not see. Well I'm just an insignificant person here, and they hold all the cards so they'll do whatever the want. It would still be nice though.
Anyway, I don't wanna ramble on further. If there's anything wrong with what I said, just point it out, but don't be all obscene about it. That's all I ask.

Looking at their pedigree, I'm hoping the home-grown IP is a new platformer. Not enough in that genre any more. Sigh.

Your all gay.
