Good news. The Wii needs some this-gen title love.

Maybe, just maybe, Nintendo is going to give the o.g's what we deserve, while at the same time bringing more fans to the console who want to do more than "waggle".

Your comment made me crack up, though, +1

This is very new, and radical. OMG E3 HURRY UP SUMMER SLOWDOWN IS KILLING ME!

what slowdown? Certainly April was kinda bad, but May's got inFamous and Punch-Out!!, and June is pretty stacked with Wii games (Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger Woods 2010, Indiana Jones, The Conduit, and Little King's Story), and after that comes Prototype itself.

I forgot about the new Punch-Out!, and I am dealing with my 3rd dead 360. GRRRR. (maybe I should chill out and shoot some Peggle on side until it returns...)

Prototype looked like it'd be my favorite game ever, until I saw it was exclusive for 360/PS3. I then made a mental block of it ever existing.

If this ends up not being a Prototype port, I'll be a sad panda.

I'm having an extremely hard time getting your comment to make sense to me in my head. Why do you WANT a dumbed down port when there are superior versions out there?

I could understand your complaint if you were wanting a PC version, but a wii version? Really?? Does not compute.

Yeah, I actually have to agree... I only have a Wii, and I don't really intend on buying another console right now, but if these are the types of games you want to play, then you might want to consider another console. :)

Unless you REALLY want to play them with motion controls. I mean, that's OK too.

Would this work as an on-rails shooter?

Does anyone know if this worked for them with dead rising? It seems to me that the only people who would buy Prototype are "hardcore" gamers. Any "hardcore" gamer that owns a Wii probably owns a PS3 or a 360.

Sorry, nothing against the Wii audience but I would bet its a Spiderman game. Nothing "hard Mature" has worked with the Wii outside of the occasional rail shooter so far and I don't think they would get a publisher for Prototype on the Wii until something changes that.

Unless they plan to make a Teen version of Prototype...

actually not only on rails have worked, world at war is a succesful fps, RE 4 re was succesful, Madworld is selling properly being the most violent wii game, even red steel sold well.Even NMH sold enough for a sequel and no Suda51 game sold better than this one.Ever.
By the way, crash for the wii sold way less than Madworld(comparing after 2 months).Madworld sold more than 3 times than Crash of the titans on their first months...
So developers are quite aware now that their "E "shovelware sells worse than mature games.Doing a crash game would produce less profit.Oh and by the way, the last spiderman game for wii, sold less than Madworld.By a lot. So do your math.

enhancements for wii include 3d toon vision graphix
scaled down environments for more intense action as you rail it up
shapeshifting minigames.
wii motion plus lets you feel like you're in the game waving those giant arms around!

I hope they include 100's of minigames and exclude all the superpowers. That would make an awesome game for my wii collection.

Ok, first Madworld so far has sold less than 120k copies, worldwide, at best. NMH sold almost 400k to date. That after 1 and 1/2 years. Spiderman: Web of Shadows have sold about 140k units so far.

Yes, COD:WAW sold well, with the COD name backing it up. Prototype, new IP, has yet to sell to anyone. Yes it could be a run away hit but its hasn't done it yet so, we will see.

Last years Dead Space was a surpirse hit. Enough so that EA is making a Wii version... on rails.

I'm just saying before everyone gets excited, don't expect a port like Dead Rising, which did 130k so far. If they do a port, it won't be as you see on 360/PS3...

Since nearly every must-have game on the 360/PS3 seem to come out on the PC too (since they can, unlike motion-controlled games, the reason I got a Wii), I figured I'd rather just wait a few years and get a new PC instead. :D

The real question isn't if they're planning to make a Wii game, it's if they're planning to make a good one.

Weak. Seems like a lame cash grab. Hope I'm wrong. The Wii can provide new video game experiences unlike anything else. If you're going to spend money and time hiring new people to make new games for it, why waste all that effort on ports?

Make something new and original and unique. Otherwise I'm bored.
