There's no more to say about our hands-on time with Battlefield 1943 than what's been said already ... so we thought we'd cut the chit-chat and let you soak up the new video above and screens below. Actually, we have one minor detail to correct. Previously, we reported that Battlefield would be $15 on the PlayStation Store; it's actually only $14.99. So how will you be spending that extra penny?

...makes CoD games look like a joke? Maybe Treyarch's CoD games but not Infinity Ward's. I like the Battlefield games but the ground combat is never up to par with CoD's. Which is understandable since it has a lot more stuff going on.
Hence, why comparing the 2 games is stupid...and thus you are. Thank you sir, have a good day.

If this is anything even remotely close to Bad Company, sign me up. 90% destructible environments are so delicious.

Anyone know of any Joysticks that work on the 360 and the PC? The only one I can think of it the Ace Combat 6 one but I do recall reading some other ones working with games like Tom Clancys HawX. I just can't see playing a battlefield game without a Joystick.

Hmm... I am going to get this real fast. Used to play this game (map) all the time back in the day. I still have my old CD's. Wouldn't it be easier played the old version?

Yeah the game looks great except they took a PC game and made it into a console game, which I find stupid from a gamer perspective who doesn't play consoles. It was done for more money, which is obvious. The PC version is set to be released in the fall, so us gamers have to wait longer, when console players get it earlier. The game also only has 3 classes, probably unlimited ammo, and the health system is different from all the battlefield games we know and love. No more 5 classes or however many there were, no limited ammo, and I assume the health in this game is going to be similiar to battefield heroes, where only certain classes have health packs to share with other players to promote teamwork, and the rest will just have bandages they can buy. I was looking forward to playing the engineer class again, so much for that; 1943 should've been a direct clone of 1942. All this game is, is just better graphics; It's a dumbed down version of the original, and for the casual gamer. It's a let down in my opinion. I'll probably buy it anyway, to see how it is, but it will be nothing like the original, or BF 2, or BF2142. BF1942 was by far my favorite.

lol clever ending there EA
I was addicted to Battlefield 1942 for two solid years but I really can't find much to bring me back to the same game i've played seven years ago, with just updated graphics.
This upgraded rehash is probably just to milk money off of the younger generation of gamers on consoles.

Wait...so this will be available on both PSN and XBLA in June? And has multiplayer?
Will the two versions be able to play online with each other or is going to be limited to each platform?

Looks like a fun game but by the time it comes out you'll be able to get bad company for the same price at gamestop.

Damnit EA! Thanks to this reminder of how epic 1942 was, I now want you guys to make an updated version of 1942! lol.
Also, I now have the hankering to play both expansions of 1942(Rather Secret Weapons of WWII, driving that jet was pretty epic, oh.. and JETPACK rofl)

I don't know why they are bringing this back, I bought BF1942 on launch back in 2002 and as I recall nobody was playing the stock game. The great thing about the Battlefield series was the modding, the Desert Combat mod in particular was very popular which is why the devs of the mod were hired to do Battlefield 2 on the PC.

I spotted a parashoot... They better not try and stray to far from the winning formula like they did with BadCompany... They lost my respect with that one. It seems like games kept pushing the graphics as the selling point and now gamplay is finialy catching up years later...
