New F.E.A.R. 2 DLC, 'Armored Front' coming May 21

But are you still playing F.E.A.R. 2 multiplayer? Or could Warner Bros. just as productively upload these maps to the darkest recesses of space? Speak up in the comments.
- Conductor Map: Push your way out of a train yard into the vast and open-ended junction station built around a turntable. EPAs will battle their way through the ground floor, as infantry can choose to either support from below or scale the heights of the station and engage in long-range combat.
- Decoy Map: Put your skill to the test in this full-scale training ground for Replica soldiers! Once a controlled arena for combat exercises, now it is under a full-blown assault for control between Replica and ATC. Watch out for ambushes, and don't let the pop-up target dummies fool you!

Does DLC exist for the pc version?
Einhanderkiller @ May 14th 2009 11:58PM
The Toy Soldiers DLC released for the PC.
I don't see why they wouldn't release Armored Front on PC. They are using Steamworks, after all, and Steam recently added a method for purchasing DLC.

Thanks for the info.

Good to see its coming to the PC, strange why Joystiq only reports it for the PS3 and Xbox, I guess because 99% of gamers on Joystiq are console gamers or generally people turn a blind eye to the PC?
Now, Ubisoft, release the epilouge DLC for Price of Persia on the PC and Rockstar, do the same with GTA4 Lost and Damned!!!

"strange why Joystiq only reports it for the PS3 and Xbox, I guess because 99% of gamers on Joystiq are console gamers or generally people turn a blind eye to the PC?"
I see a vicious cycle here
Einhanderkiller @ May 15th 2009 2:48AM
Joystiq changes from time to time, I suppose. I remember when they bashed the PS3 a lot and, back in the early Joystiq years, they had a lot of PC stuff. As far as I can remember, Joystiq has always been fairly positive towards the Xbox.

I GameFly'd this and I have tried at different times for the last week to get in a online game and could find not ONE!!! This was the PS3 version....but hell I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that from the way you guys are talking NO ONE is playing it....damn shame I wanted to see what the MP was like...oh well guess I'll just beat the game and send it back...
arrness @ May 14th 2009 11:24PM

sounds like a case of killzone 2
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 14th 2009 11:27PM

not a SINGLE 1...and I would blame it on KZ2 as well but hell CoD and R2 seem to have faired well after KZ2 was released....
you say you have the 360 version?? check and see if you can find a game either ranked or unranked.....I couldnt find either and I have check 2-3 times a day every day for the past week...
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 14th 2009 11:52PM
I was going to play it tonight, maybe the toy map.
I can wait to get pwn3d by idiots doing OHK flying kicks in the stairs,Shotgun campers and greande spammers like in the original woo hoo.
KZ2 is awesome but to be honest I got sick of it after I got the general rank and I don't feel like playing the campaign then again is a a lot of fun when you want to tard out and Gun run everyone with the shotgun.Double the fun by tea bagging players that abuse of the mics .
ChooChooCharlie @ May 15th 2009 2:04AM
Sounds exactly like FEAR the first. 6 months after launch on 360, the multiplayer lobbies were a ghost town.
knightsray @ May 15th 2009 3:01AM
i own the pc version on steam an there's still lots of games going on all the time...AT LEAST 10 unranked matches always up..sometimes 20-30 with more than 5 players in each an always ranked matchs going on at any given time. i guess FEAR 2 mp is just more popular on the pc version. i would suggest gettin it for that if you wanna try the mp out..it's very fun...an competitive still on the pc!
DWells55 @ May 15th 2009 9:34AM
I didn't have any trouble finding PC games and it was actually pretty fun to play as well.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 14th 2009 11:38PM
For 2 maps 540p? Erm 400p is more like it but I guess is okay now that I don't know how many of you play this online I think F.E.A.R 2 is one of those games that would benefit more from additional levels for the single player mode rather than more DLC maps. Then again I loved the Toy maps.

On a side note this game has a lot of MP achievements and to be honest that is never a good idea community’s die way too fast in consoles. I could never complete online achievements because either the community died, I got sick of the game before I could reach the OVER 9000 kills milestone or they require and extremely amount of luck and a fast connection.
Iw hit the nail with COD4 ,if you were playing online was because you liked the game and could stop at any time and you could complete the game offline but that doesn't mean the achievements were easy in fact the achievements were hard and satisfactory to the point you feel you earn it.
343 Guilty Fart @ May 15th 2009 12:55PM
It's only 540p?? What?? I demand my extra 180p, none of this upscaling bullshit!
Blackmagic1o0 @ May 14th 2009 11:39PM
well i rented this from gamefly about a month ago, and i can tell you guys there is not really anyone still playing this game...i played it for xbl
DarkSan00 @ May 15th 2009 1:41AM
I for one, have had terrible experiences with this game online. No one plays, and those who play are jerks/boosting for achievements. We need more games with online achievements such as those in halo 3 or gears2: REALISTIC.
Indisputable Truth @ May 15th 2009 12:57AM
Why do people still play Halo 3? Why do people still play COD4? Multiplayer. Why do companies invest their game so heavily in single player when that experience is short lived? I had to sell FEAR2 because the initial multiplayer was extremely underwhelming. I vote for no single player, unless you have a good multiplayer (Shadowrun).
Cosmo @ May 15th 2009 12:59AM
I do not want that at all, I want to have a long and enjoyable single-player experience, I hope I'm not alone in this.
dgknight500 @ May 15th 2009 1:45AM
I vote for no comments from you...
DrgnAK @ May 15th 2009 4:37AM
You mentioned two of the most popular games. Communities from games that haven't been hyped out the ass on consoles, with millions of dollars poured into it have the online lifespan of a monarch butterfly, no matter how many units it sells, and regardless of the quality of the game.
Billop @ May 15th 2009 5:00AM
Well the Singleplayer on FEAR 2 was good enough for me. a Long, satisfying romp through a horror movie. It was the kind of game that was long (8-10 hours), but you wish it could be longer
keithchung @ May 15th 2009 6:35AM
Is it me or does the girl in the picture look a bit like Britney Spears?
Jeff @ May 16th 2009 2:12AM
I want that graphic in wallpaper size. For my wallpaper.
Grishrak @ May 18th 2009 8:20PM
I would get the DLC but no way I gave up on the game after hearing a million xp for a trophy that would take about 60 hours to get at least. If they lowered it to 100,000 and added in new trophies then for sure I would buy the DLC cause I love the fear series own fear and fear files on 360 and 2 on PS3.
