Tony Hawk 2 on the iPhone (and you'll probably never get to play it)

Yesterday, a video for what was supposedly Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on the iPhone leaked, but we here at Joystiq HQ couldn't really bring ourselves to believe it. The video -- it was pulled, but we've found another and placed it after the break for your scrutinizing eyes -- is suspect for a variety of reasons. But, even though we have a hard time believing it, the president of LTI Gray Matter, Daniel R. Chavez, told TouchArcade that it is, in fact, legit.

Chavez says that his company merely used Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 "strictly as a 'test subject' and not at the request of Activision or anyone else." When LTI had finished and showed Activision what Chavez's company had come up with, it didn't express much interest in the title, sadly. And with a new game about to be revealed, Activision is concerned that marketing an iPhone game could cause confusion.

It's a shame, really. THPS2 is arguably the best in the series, and based on the gameplay in the video after the break, it looks like it would be a fun time on the iPhone.
